In an embodiment, an apparatus is provided that may include circuitry to generate, at least in part, and/or receive, at least in part, at least one request that at least one network node generate, at least in part, information. The information may be to permit selection, at least in part, of (1) at least one power consumption state of the at least one network node, and (2) at least one time period. The at least one time period may be to elapse, after receipt by at least one other network node of at least one packet, prior to requesting at least one change in the at least one power consumption state. The at least one packet may be to be transmitted to the at least one network node. Of course, many alternatives, modifications, and variations are possible without departing from this embodiment.

A communication device may receive first specific information from a first terminal device, establish a second wireless connection with a second terminal device after the first specific information has been received from the first terminal device, receive second specific information from the second terminal device after the second wireless connection has been established with the second terminal device, determine whether the first terminal device is identical to the second terminal device by using the first specific information and the second specific information in a case where the second specific information is received from the second terminal device, disconnect the second wireless connection in a case where it is determined that the first terminal device is not identical to the second terminal device, and not disconnect the second wireless connection in a case where it is determined that the first terminal device is identical to the second terminal device.

Distribution of electronic documents is described, including receiving an electronic document to be distributed, identifying whether a destination identifier is associated with a destination account among a known group of customer accounts, routing the electronic document, and calculating a fee associated with delivery of the electronic document based on whether the destination account is among the known group of customers and a set of billing rules. The set of billing rules may specify a discounted fee for routing an electronic document to each of a known group of customer accounts. In other aspects, the set of billing rules may specify a discounted fee for routing an electronic document to a first group of the known group of customer accounts and specify a standard fee for a second group of the known group of customer accounts.

An image processing apparatus for reading a document to generate image data using a reading unit performs, receiving a job including a document reading-and-transmission job for causing the reading unit to read a document to generate image data and then transmitting the image data to a specified destination, from an information processing apparatus communicable via a network, storing the received job, displaying a list of the stored jobs in response to a user instruction, displaying a confirmation screen related to transmission setting contents of a document reading-and-transmission job selected from the list of jobs, and executing, in a case where execution of the selected document reading-and-transmission job is instructed via the confirmation screen, the document reading-and-transmission job.

A communication apparatus includes: a transmitting unit that is capable of transmitting data to a designated destination through any of plural communication interfaces; a storage unit in which plural pieces of destination information are stored; and a registration unit that registers a communication interface used for data transmission in advance for each of the plural pieces of destination information stored in the storage unit.

An information processing apparatus capable of a wireless LAN connection with a mobile terminal, wherein, when the information processing apparatus, in a state being caused to shift to a state being capable of accepting a Wi-Fi Direct connection request from the mobile terminal, receives the Wi-Fi Direct connection request from the mobile terminal, whether or not an authenticated user has logged in to the information processing apparatus is determined, and, in a case that it is determined that an authenticated user has logged in to the information processing apparatus, Wi-Fi Direct connection processing with the mobile terminal is started.

An image processing apparatus includes a memory that stores first progress information representing progress of processing of a job, a first program accessible to the first progress information, and a second program that performs transfer processing of the job; and a processor configured to: execute the transfer processing of transferring the job by the second program; update, by the second program, second progress information representing progress of the transfer processing by the second program, the progress being according to a unit of the job; and output updated first progress information by the first program, using the second progress information updated by the second program.

A reading device connected to an external device include a transport section configured to transport a document, a reading section configured to read the document transported by the transport section, a data generation section configured to generate image data of the document read by the reading section; a transfer section configured to transfer the image data to the external device, a notification section configured to notify information to a user, and a control section, wherein the control section is configured to control a transport speed of the document by the transport section based on a transfer speed of the image data by the transfer section and, when the transport speed is changed, to cause the notification section to notify using a change notification A1 indicating a change in the transport speed.
