Designated region projection printing
A system determines an object-design for a three-dimensional model of an object. The object-design may exhibit a design continuity. The system breaks the object-design in to spatial patterns corresponding to the discrete surfaces making up the outward surface of the object. The system then generates flattened patterns by projecting the spatial patterns into a two-dimensional plane. The system prints the flattened patterns on to designated regions of material sheets in an orientation that preserves the design continuity of the object-design. The regions may be extracted from the sheets and then joined at their edges to form a cover for object that exhibits the continuity of the object design.
Image forming apparatus, information processing method, and non-transitory computer readable recording medium that stores information processing program
An image forming apparatus includes: a platen optically-transparent; a line sensor configured to move below the platen and optically scan the platen; an image-capturing device located below the platen and configured to capture a viewpoint area, the viewpoint area being at least a partial area on the platen and being an area expected to include at least a part of an edge of a document where the document is put on the platen with reference to a reference position on the platen; a display device; and a controller circuitry configured to display a viewpoint image and a guideline image on the display device, the viewpoint image being an image obtained by capturing the viewpoint area by the image-capturing device, the guideline image being an image showing the reference position, such that the guideline image overlaps the reference position in the viewpoint area included in the viewpoint image.
Image reading apparatus, image reading system, and method for controlling image reading apparatus
An image reading apparatus acquires first control data regarding generation of first rectangular image data that includes a whole of a document area corresponding to a document within a reading area of read image data. The image reading apparatus acquires second control data regarding generation of second rectangular image data that does not include a background area not corresponding to the document within the reading area of the read image data and includes at least a part of the document area.
AUTOMATED VIDEO CROPPING
The disclosed computer-implemented method may include receiving, as an input, segmented video scenes, where each video scene includes a specified length of video content. The method may further include scanning the video scenes to identify objects within the video scene and also determining a relative importance value for the identified objects. The relative importance value may include an indication of which objects are to be included in a cropped version of the video scene. The method may also include generating a video crop that is to be applied to the video scene such that the resulting cropped version of the video scene includes those identified objects that are to be included based on the relative importance value. The method may also include applying the generated video crop to the video scene to produce the cropped version of the video scene. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A reading portion generates an original image including an image of a document sheet. A first document sheet end detection portion, in a case where the thickness of the document sheet is equal to or greater than a threshold value, identifies a peripheral edge shape of the document sheet by detecting a shadow portion that occurs at a peripheral edge portion of the document sheet in the original image. A second document end detection portion, in a case where the thickness of the document sheet is less than a threshold value, identifies the peripheral edge shape based on a specification by the user. A document sheet size determination portion determines a size of the document sheet according to a result of shape identification by the first document sheet end detection portion or a result of shape identification by the second document sheet end detection portion.
Image processing
An image of a check may be presented for payment in a banking system in place of the physical paper check. The check to be deposited can be collected from a depositor using a scanner. A web site, accessed through a depositor's web browser, can be used to drive the process of collecting the check, but in some contexts (e.g., in less popular computing environments, such as those that do not run the most popular operating systems), it is economically infeasible to obtain the certificates that would be used to allow a program executing in the web browser to control the scanner. Thus, a depositor can be instructed to capture and upload images of the check in the form of files, where the image files are then presented for payment through a banking system.
Conserving energy for empty 3D printing layers
According to one aspect there is provided a three-dimensional printer. The printer comprises a controller to obtain data relating to a layer of a build model, to process non-empty layers according to a first operating mode and to process empty layers according to a second operating mode.
Creating label form templates
Methods and systems for creating labels from a template can involve correcting an image of a form captured by an image-capturing device, detecting in the image of the form a group of features including one or more polygons, and one or more writable areas in polygon(s), creating a template of the form based on the group of features detected in the image, and transmitting the template electronically to a requester of the template.
IMAGE READING DEVICE, IMAGE READING SYSTEM, CONTROL DEVICE, AND DOCUMENT REGION EXTRACTION METHOD
A controller of an image reading device performs search for an edge candidate position inward from an edge portion in a main scanning direction of analysis image data in an extraction process of extracting a document region from read image data. When the retrieved edge candidate position corresponds to a dirt position, the search is continued whereas when the retrieved edge candidate position does not correspond to the dirt position, the document region is extracted from the read image data at the retrieved edge candidate position.
