An image processing device includes: a compression unit that compresses original image data in units of a block; a first position correction unit that shifts positions of respective pixels contained in the original image data compressed by the compression unit such that the positions are shifted in a sub scanning direction; an expansion unit that expands the original image data shifted by the first position correction unit; and a second position correction unit that converts resolution of the original image data into higher resolution, and shifts the positions of the respective pixels of the converted original image data, wherein the first shift amount is a shift amount set in units of a shift corresponding to an integral multiple of the block, and the second shift amount is a shift amount set in units of a shift corresponding to one pixel with high resolution converted by the second position correction unit.

A method of controlling an image forming apparatus having an image reading unit capable of conveying and reading a plurality of documents of different sizes includes determining whether an automatic magnification function is set in a case where an instruction to read a plurality of documents of different sizes is given, and performing control such that, in a case where the determining determines that the automatic magnification function is not set, a first document reading mode in which the plurality of documents is conveyed at a constant conveyance speed and is read is set to the image reading unit, and, in a case where the determining determines that the automatic magnification function is set, a second document reading mode in which the plurality of documents is conveyed at a different conveyance speed for each document and is read is set to the image reading unit.

Methods and apparatus for regulating a position of a drone
11372410 · 2022-06-28 · ·

A drone autonomously operates to track an object, track an object while being stealthy and/or observe the details of an object while maintaining communication at a rate equal to or greater than a threshold. A drone may operate to maintain the image of an object at or above a predetermined resolution in an image captured by a camera mounted on the drone and to maintain a wireless communication rate equal to or greater than a threshold rate. A drone may operate so that the sound intensity level caused by the operation of the drone is less than or equal to a sound intensity level threshold as perceived by an object (e.g., person, target, suspect) being tracked.

Image processing method, apparatus, and recording system determining when to generate black dots after resolution reduction
11368599 · 2022-06-21 · ·

An image processing method is an image processing method of a recording device. The image processing method includes inputting the image data having a resolution in a sub scanning direction of X×N dpi, performing data processing on the image data for each N-unit region, performing resolution reduction processing of reducing, to 1/N, a resolution in the sub scanning direction, and generating a recording data based on the reduced image data. In the data processing step, when the N-unit region is formed of a pixel having a black gradation value and a pixel having a gradation value that is equal to or greater than a predetermined value when expressed by RGB, and the pixel having the black gradation value is consecutive from another N-unit region adjacent to the N-unit region, a black dot is generated in a pixel after the resolution reduction processing.

Information processing apparatus and computer program product for reducing an image area or enlarging a blank area of a manuscript so an additional image fits in the blank area

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to acquire a manuscript image and an additional image added to the manuscript image, and reduce an image area other than a blank area in the manuscript image so that the additional image fits in the blank area of the manuscript image.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DIGITAL PRINTING

A method of digital printing is disclosed in which a digital image to be printed has at least one region having pixels comprising superpositioned layers of a first ink and a second ink. The method includes producing at least one sample print and calibrating misalignment of the superpositioned layers at a plurality of calibration locations on the sample print. The resultant misalignment data is provided to a morphing program to pre-deform the digital image to provide a modified digital image which compensates for misalignment during printing. The image is then printed using the modified digital image. An apparatus and a machine readable storage medium comprising instructions executable by a processor are also disclosed.

Transforming document elements for modified document layouts

Methods and systems disclosed herein relate generally to systems and methods for transforming document elements in response to modifications to a layout of a document. A layout-modification application identifies, from a first document having a first document layout, a first set of measurements of a document element and a first location of the document element within the first document. Based on an aspect-ratio difference between the first document layout and a second document layout, the layout-modification application selects a set of transformation rules that specify, for the document element, a second set of measurements and a second location within a second document. To select the particular set of transformation rules, the layout-modification application uses the determined aspect-ratio difference. The layout-modification application applies the selected set of transformation rules to the document element.

Foveated rendering in tiled architectures

This disclosure describes examples for foveation rendering. A graphics processing unit (GPU) may render image content for each tile at different sizes as part of the rendering pass after a binning pass in which the GPU determined to which tiles vertices of primitives belong. The GPU may upsample the rendered image content based on the size at which GPU rendered the image content, and output the upsampled image content for later display.
