Software applications and information apparatus supporting output of digital content over a network (e.g., Internet) to an output device (e.g., printer) are herein disclosed and enabled. To output digital content, an application for accessing a service provided over the network is installed at the information apparatus, the information apparatus discovers the output device that is in the same local area network (e.g., via IEEE 802.11) as the information apparatus, output device information is received from the discovered output device, and the output device information is transmitted to the service for registering the output device. Subsequent to registration, an application (e.g., Internet browser, email, document) at the information apparatus, having appropriate security or authentication information, may transmit digital content to the service to output the digital content at the registered output device. The output of digital content does not require a device specific driver to be installed in the information apparatus.

In accordance with an embodiment, an image forming apparatus comprises a peripheral image acquisition section, a face detection section, a face recognition section and a printing control section. The peripheral image acquisition section acquires an image of the periphery of the image forming apparatus. The face detection section detects a face of person from the image acquired by the peripheral image acquisition section. The face recognition section calculates a matching rate indicating a matching degree of the face of person detected by the face detection section with a face of a user registered in advance. The printing control section executes a processing relating to printing of the image forming apparatus in a plurality of stages corresponding to the matching rates according to the matching rate calculated by the face recognition section and a threshold value of the matching rate.

An image forming apparatus includes an image forming section, a sheet output tray, an operating section, an operation acceptance section, a human body detection sensor, a communication section, a command acceptance section, and a control section. When the command acceptance section accepts a print job command from an external device while a human body is being detected by the human body detection sensor provided at the front of the image forming apparatus, the control section suspends a print job based on the print job command.

An image forming system includes: an ID terminal that stores a public key and a secret key and that outputs the public key and the secret key to an external device when the ID terminal authenticates a user; an image forming apparatus that prepares a log data relating to printing; a storing device that stores the log data prepared by the image forming apparatus; an information processing device that authenticates the user by using the ID terminal; and a log viewing device that authenticates the user by using the ID terminal. When the information processing device receives a print instruction for printing a predetermined print data from the authenticated user, the information processing device transmits a print job to which the public key obtained from the ID terminal is added, to the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus receives the print job to which the public key is added.

A method, a computer program product, and a multi-function peripheral are disclosed, which secures a device using a link local network for transmission of data. The method includes starting an Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) network initialization from an Internet of Things (IOT) device in an IPv6 link local network; deriving an identifier for a link local IPv6 address for the IOT device from a first public key of the IOT device; sending the link local IPv6 address with the identifier from the IOT device to the first host device for double address detection (dad) in the link local IPv6 network; and authenticating the link local IPv6 address on the first host device with a private key.

An exemplary embodiment of the present inventive concept provides a display device including: a display unit including a plurality of pixels disposed on a display area; a display controller configured to control the display unit; a sensor including a plurality of first sensing electrodes and a plurality of second sensing electrodes disposed in the display area; and a sensor controller configured to recognize a touch of a user inputted into the sensor in a touch sensing mode and to recognize a fingerprint of the user inputted into the sensor in a fingerprint sensing mode, wherein the sensor controller changes a mode to the fingerprint sensing mode when no touch is inputted for a predetermined time period in the touch sensing mode and changes the mode to the touch sensing mode when authorization on a fingerprint inputted into the sensor is succeeded in the fingerprint sensing mode.

An image processing apparatus includes: a display unit configured to display an operation screen; an acquisition unit configured to acquire biological information of a user performing operation using the operation screen, the biological information varying reflecting a state of the user; and a registration control unit configured to control operation of registering information on the operation screen and the biological information of the user in association with each other.

A recognition system including: a specifier that specifies a person who approaches an image forming apparatus using predetermined user information; a memory that stores the person specified by the specifier; a recognizer that recognizes at least any of the stored persons as a candidate who carries away a recording medium on which an image is formed on the basis of a user's print job; and a notificator that notifies a message regarding carrying away of the recording medium on which the image is formed to the recognized candidate.

A login support system includes an electronic apparatus, a camera, a storage unit, and a control unit that includes a processor and acts, when the processor executes a login support control program, as a face authentication section, a gesture determination section, and a controller. The face authentication section extracts a face image of a person from a captured image captured by the camera and, when the extracted face image coincides with any of pieces of face information stored in the storing unit, authenticates the extracted face image. The gesture determination section detects a gesture of a person on a basis of the captured image and determines whether the detected gesture coincides with a prescribed gesture. When the face image of the person is authenticated and the gesture of the person is determined as coinciding with the prescribed gesture, the controller permits a login to the electronic apparatus to that person.

An information equipment management system includes a personal identification apparatus which is portable and capable of acquiring biometric information of a carrying person thereof and thereby identifying the carrying person, an information equipment, and an information equipment management server for managing use approval/disapproval information which is management information on approval or disapproval of use of the information equipment. The personal identification apparatus includes an acquisition part for acquiring use approval/disapproval information of the information equipment relating to the carrying person, which is use approval/disapproval information managed by the information equipment management server, from the information equipment management server and a storage part for storing therein the use approval/disapproval information acquired from the information equipment management server. The information equipment controls an operation of the information equipment by using the use approval/disapproval information stored in the storage part of the personal identification apparatus.
