The operation panel is configured to designate a transmission destination of scan data, the scan data including image data of the document read by the scanner. The communication interface is configured to transmit the scan data to the transmission destination designated on the operation panel. The processor is configured to transmit the scan data to the transmission destination without a password in response to the transmission destination designated on the operation panel being a transmission destination of an operator who operates the operation panel, and transmit the scan data protected with a password to the transmission destination in response to the transmission destination designated on the operation panel including a transmission destination of any person other than the operator.

A device includes circuitry; and a memory storing computer-executable instructions that cause the circuitry to execute displaying by an application, in a first area of a screen, information received from an information processing apparatus in a network; displaying, in a second area of the screen different from the first area, a display component that connects to a specified connection destination; and communicating to connect to the specified connection destination in response to detecting that the display component is pressed, wherein the displaying includes displaying, in the first area, connection destination information received from the specified connection destination.

Techniques for receiving a scan request and creating a proxy scan job by imaging devices are described. According to the present subject matter, a scan request is received from a contact identifier. Further, a proxy scan job corresponding to the scan request is created. Thereafter, a password corresponding to the scan request is generated and transmitted to the contact identifier.

Methods and systems are described for receiving and distributing incoming fax transmissions. In one embodiment, an electronic device receives, over a computer network, an electronic message that includes an electronic document and a fax telephone number of an organization of a plurality of organizations, wherein the fax telephone number is) permanently associated with the organization and 2) uniquely identifies the organization from other organizations in the plurality of other organizations. A method for processing an image of a physical document to show a redacted portion including: identifying a tag associated with the redacted portion and including first user rights; obtaining, using the identified tag, a digital copy of the physical document including a non-redacted form of the redacted portion; receiving, from an external device, second user rights; determining that the second user rights match the first user rights; outputting, based on the determination, information indicating that the non-redacted form of the redacted portion is able to be shown; receiving, in response to the non-redacted form being able to be shown, an instruction to display the non-redacted form; and displaying, based on the instruction and using a projector onto a surface a predetermined distance from the physical document, the non-redacted form of the redacted portion.

The disclosure discloses methods and systems for securing confidential content of a document. The method includes receiving a print request to print the document. A user interface is provided to the user having a secure option, the secure option further includes a partial secure option to secure partial content of the document. Based on the selection of the partial secure option, a selection of a confidential area including the confidential content in the document is received. Based on the selection, one or more coordinates of the confidential area are calculated. Then, an infrared (IR) mark is embedded in the document. While embedding the IR mark, the one or more coordinates of the confidential area including the confidential content in the document is embedded. Finally, a printed document is output with the IR mark including the coordinates of the confidential area for later identification of the confidential content and/or use such as masking.

An information processing apparatus includes a processor configured to acquire a copy image, that is a copy of an image displayed on a display device, every time a predetermined timing occurs, and store the acquired copy image in a storage device in association with information indicating the predetermined timing that triggers the acquisition.
