An image correction method includes: acquiring band images obtained by imaging a subject, and a high-resolution image having a resolution higher than that of the band images; acquiring a position difference between the object band image and the reference band image among the band images; by using a pixel of the object band image as an object pixel, for each object pixel, determining a pixel value of each sub-region obtained by dividing the imaging region of the object pixel into a plurality of regions, based on the pixel value of the object pixel and a relationship between pixel values of the pixels of the high-resolution image corresponding to the object pixel; and creating a corrected band image that holds a pixel value of light on the object band image at the pixel position of the reference band image, from the determined pixel value of each sub-region and the position difference.

An image correction device is configured to acquire band images obtained by imaging a subject; by using at least one of the band images as a reference band image and at least one of the rest of the band images as an object band image, acquire a position difference between the object band image and the reference band image; by using a pixel of the object band image as an object pixel and each of pixels of the reference band image that overlap the object pixel when the object pixel is shifted by the position difference as a corresponding pixel, create a corrected band image that holds a pixel value of light on the object band image at the pixel position of the reference band image, on the basis of a relationship between pixel values of the corresponding pixels; and output the corrected band image.

INKJET PRINTER IMAGE IMPROVEMENT TECHNIQUES

Techniques for reducing or eliminating image banding in an ink-jet image are provided. In an example, a method of operating a printer to reduce or eliminate image banding can include generating command profile for printing a given image, applying a filter to the command profile to provide a filtered profile, and dispensing ink from a printhead of the printer based on the filtered profile. In certain examples, the filter can randomize droplet sizes of ink dispensed while executing the printing to reduce or eliminate image banding.

A plurality of nozzle rows include a first nozzle row including a plurality of first nozzles configured to discharge first ink, a second nozzle row including a plurality of second nozzles configured to discharge second ink, and a third nozzle row including a plurality of third nozzles configured to discharge third ink. The third nozzle row is provided between the first nozzle row and the second nozzle row in the relative movement direction. When the first ink to be discharged from the first nozzle is replaced at least by the second ink to be discharged from the second nozzle and the third ink to be discharged from the third nozzle, the first control section forms an edge portion of an output image to be formed on a medium in such a manner that a first use rate is lower than a second use rate, the first use rate being a use rate of the second nozzle for the edge portion of the output image, the second use rate being a use rate of the second nozzle for a non-edge portion of the output image.

INKJET PRINTER CONTROL METHOD

Methods of controlling an inkjet printer are disclosed. The methods include defining shape information using a design graphics system. The shape information includes fill colors for shapes, and may include colors for edges. The colors are interpreted as one or more attributes, such as film thickness or material, for a film to be formed on a substrate.

An information processing apparatus transmits data to a printer and includes at least one memory device that stores a set of instructions, and at least one processor that executes the set of instructions to receive a print setting and a gradation object, detect an orientation of a color change in the gradation object and, based on the print setting and the detected orientation, determine whether the orientation of the color change in the gradation object when rendered in the printer matches a main scanning direction of the printer. Based on a determination that the orientation matches the main scanning direction, the gradation object is rendered in the information processing apparatus and then the rendered gradation object is transmitted to the printer, and based on a determination that the orientation does not match the main scanning direction, the gradation object is transmitted to the printer without rendering the gradation object in the information processing apparatus.

2-D image based correction of thermal ghosting in a digital printer

An image based correction system compensates for the image quality artifacts induced by thermal ghosting. With thermal ghosting directly tied to previous image content, a feed forward control system predicts the thermal ghosting artifact based on the images previous printed and generates an open loop, 2-D correction to the gray-level image that mitigates the undesirable ghosting artifacts. For example, the correction system compensates for the thermal ghosting by making the current digital image “lighter” in areas that will be imaged onto warmer blanket regions, thereby cancelling out TRC differences between different temperature regions.

Correcting distortions in digital printing by implanting dummy pixels in a digital image
20210309020 · 2021-10-07 ·

A method for correcting distortion in image printing, the method includes receiving a digital image (200, 306, 376, 500, 600, 700, 810) acquired from a printed image. Based on the digital image (200, 306, 376, 500, 600, 700, 810), a geometric distortion in the printed image is estimated. One or more pixel locations (228, 504, 506, 514, 610, 620, 630, 640, 712, 716, 722, 724) are calculated, such that, when one or more dummy pixels (232, 234) are implanted therein, compensate for the estimated geometric distortion. The geometric distortion is corrected in a subsequent digital image to be printed, by implanting the one or more dummy pixels (232, 234) at the one or more calculated pixel locations (228, 504, 506, 514, 610, 620, 630, 640, 712, 716, 722, 724) in the subsequent digital image. The subsequent digital image having the corrected geometric distortion is printed.
