PRINTING SUPPORT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE PRINTING SUPPORT SYSTEM
20190373139 · 2019-12-05 · ·

A printing support system includes an information processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus. The information processing apparatus generates distribution target data indicating distribution targets. Based on the distribution target data, the image forming apparatus recognizes departments to which the distribution targets belong, respectively. The image forming apparatus recognizes a minimum color number department whose permissible number of colors used is smallest. The image forming apparatus determines a highlight part in document data. The image forming apparatus generates automatic highlight image data that is image data including the highlight part subjected to a highlighting process and using a number of colors equal to the permissible number of colors of the minimum color number department.

A binary image of an input image is generated, and a character region within the binary image and a region surrounding each character are acquired as character segmentation rectangle information. A thinning process is executed on a region within the binary image which is identified based on the character segmentation rectangle information to acquire a thinned image. An edge detected image of the region identified based on the character segmentation rectangle information is acquired. Whether each character identified based on the character segmentation rectangle information is a character to be separated from a background by the binarization process or not is determined based on a result of a logical AND of the thinned image and the edge detected image.

An image processing device has a layout analyzing portion extracting a character region from image data, an OCR processing portion generating text data of characters in the character region, and a document file generating portion. The document file generating portion selects either a first generation process or a second generation process based on the size of the character region. The first generation process is a process of generating a document file having a text box including text data attached to it. The second generation process is a process of generating a document file by writing the text data directly in the document file without using the text box.

[Object] To prevent an inappropriate processing parameter from being used in a case in which an image that may be expressed by various expression methods is handled.

[Solution] Provided is an image processing device including: a control unit that decides a processing parameter for image processing performed on an image on the basis of at least one of a transfer function related to conversion between light and an image signal that is applied to the image or a color range that is applied to the image; and a processing unit that executes the image processing using the processing parameter that is decided by the control unit.

Content management system, content management method, and recording medium

A method includes: associating content with erasure completion information indicating the content has been erased; forming an image of the content and an image at a time of formation indicating the erasure completion information; in a case where an erasure image is formed to be superimposed on at least a part of the image of the content on the recording medium, forming an image at a time of discarding indicating the erasure completion information and the erasure image, where the image at the time of discarding is associated with the content; and in a case where the erasure completion information is identified by the image at the time of formation and the image at the time of discarding included in single image data output when the image capturing device image-captures the recording medium, determining that the content associated with the erasure completion information has been erased.

Adaptive load balancing in software emulation of GPU hardware

Aspects of the present disclosure describe a software based emulator of a graphics processing unit (GPU) that is configured to operate over a cloud-based network. A virtual image containing graphics primitives is divided into a plurality of tiles. A load balancer assigns tiles to rasterization threads in order to evenly distribute the processing load. The rasterization threads then rasterize their assigned tiles and deliver rendered pixels to a frame buffer. The frame buffer builds a frame from the rendered pixels and then delivers the frame over the network to a client device platform. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

In one or more embodiments, an image processing apparatus obtains a shade image representing shade components included in a multi-valued image obtained by capturing an image of a document. The shade components depend on an image capture environment. The apparatus binarizes a pixel value of a target pixel in the multi-valued image based on a pixel value of a corresponding pixel in the shade image at coordinates identical to those of the target pixel to generate a pixel value representing white or black. One or more image processing methods and storage mediums are also provided herein.

PIXEL PROCESSING WITH COLOR COMPONENT

A processing of pixels comprises checking whether a color component of a pixel in a color space resulting in a smallest error between at least one color component in another color space determined based on the color component and at least one original color component of the pixel in the another color space causes any color channel of the pixel to fall outside of an allowed range. A value of the color component is obtained using a first function/LUT if the color component resulting in the smallest error does not cause any color channel of the pixel to fall outside of said allowed range. However, a value of the color component is obtained using a second, different function/LUT if the color component resulting in the smallest error causes any color channel of the pixel to fall outside of the allowed range.

Method and system for image compression

An image compression method includes compressing an input image with first and second compression methods to generate first and second (e.g., lossless and lossy) compressed images. First and second residual layers are generated, based on a difference between the first and second compressed images. Connected components in the residual layers are identified. Each connected component includes a group of one or more pixels that, when mapped to the second compressed image is connected, in first and second directions, to pixels in the second compressed image. A compressed image is generated, which includes, for a connected component identified in the first residual layer, removing corresponding pixels from the second compressed image, and for a connected component identified in the second residual layer, adding corresponding pixels to the second compressed image. The system and method can thus provide file size savings associated with lossy compression while avoiding character replacement.
