IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A plurality of source image pixels of a subset of image pixels of a source image cell of a selected color component of a digitized image are processed to generate a corresponding color component for each corresponding processed image pixel of a corresponding processed image cell, wherein the processed image pixels of the processed image cell are in one-to-one correspondence with the source image pixels of the source image cell, a bit length of the color component of each processed image pixel of the processed image cell exceeds a bit length of color component of each source image pixel the source image cell, the processed image cell contains substantial color information in excess of what could be contained within a bit length equal to the bit length of each the source image pixel of the color component of the source image cell.
Image processing system, image processing method, and image processing device for auto color selection
An image processing system includes: an image recording unit configured to record an output image corresponding to an input image on a recording medium; an image compression unit configured to compress the input image for transmission; and a determining unit configured to determine whether the input image is a color image or a monochrome image according to a first determination rule if the output image is to be recorded on the recording medium, and determine whether the input image is the color image or the monochrome image according to a second determination rule different from the first determination rule if the input image is to be compressed for transmission.
Methods and system for sparse blue sampling
A method for coding color images with fewer blue samples than samples of other colors. This provides a psycho visually high image quality since the human retina itself has fewer S cones than L, M cones. Applications include image and video coding with lower density of blue samples than other colors such as red and green. Another application is in single sensor multi-spectral and color cameras that use Color Filter Arrays. Sampling density is limited in Color Filter Arrays so that a lower blue sample density enables higher sample densities of other colors.
Encoding method and encoder for constructing an initial color table
In an embodiment, an encoding method includes generating a histogram corresponding to all pixels in a coding unit. The encoding method further includes seeking a first color value according to the histogram, wherein a first number of pixels of the first color value in the histogram is greater than or equals to a first threshold. The encoding method further includes seeking a second color value in a first range of the first color value according to the histogram. The encoding method further includes removing one or more pixels of the first color value from the histogram when a second number of pixels of the second color value is greater than or equals to a second threshold. The encoding method further includes adding the first color value into an initial color table when the second number of pixels is less than the second threshold. An encoder is also provided in the disclosure.
Color space compression
An improved color space (YHB model) for compressing image files is provided. An example method includes storing a sum of an unweighted first color value and an unweighted second color value for each pixel in a plurality of pixels of an image as a first channel, subsampling, among the plurality of pixels, a difference between the first color value and the second color value as a second channel, subsampling, among the plurality of pixels, a third color value as a third channel, and storing the first channel, the second channel, and the third channel as the compressed image. In some implementations, the original image may be split into a low frequency version and a high frequency version. The system may apply the YHB model to the high frequency version and apply a conventional model or a second variation of the YHB model to the low frequency version.
IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A binary image of an input image is generated, and a character region within the binary image and a region surrounding each character are acquired as character segmentation rectangle information. A thinning process is executed on a region within the binary image which is identified based on the character segmentation rectangle information to acquire a thinned image. An edge detected image of the region identified based on the character segmentation rectangle information is acquired. Whether each character identified based on the character segmentation rectangle information is a character to be separated from a background by the binarization process or not is determined based on a result of a logical AND of the thinned image and the edge detected image.
Selection System, Method, And Computer Program For Selecting Ink Amount Set
A selection system includes a constraint condition designation section configured to receive a designation of a constraint condition related to the ink amount set, an evaluation condition designation section configured to receive a designation of an evaluation condition including an evaluation index related to the ink amount set, an ink amount calculation section configured to obtain a plurality of ink amount set candidates by executing an optimization process under the constraint condition, an evaluation index calculation section configured to calculate each of the evaluation indexes for the plurality of ink amount set candidates, and a notification section that is configured to add the evaluation index to each of the plurality of ink amount set candidates and that is configured to present it to a user.
Digital image attribute plane compression
An example embodiment may involve obtaining an mn pixel cell from an input image. Each of the mn pixels in the mn pixel cell may be associated with at least one color value. An mn attribute cell may be determined, elements of which may be associated in a one-to-one fashion with respective pixels in the mn pixel cell. The mn pixel cell may be compressed in a lossy fashion, and the mn attribute cell may be compressed in a lossless fashion. Compression of the mn pixel cell may be based on at least part of the mn attribute cell. An interleaved representation of the compressed mn pixel cell and the compressed mn attribute cell may be written to an output medium.
