DIGITAL MEDIA SYSTEM
A digital media system is configured to support any one or more of multiple features with respect to virtual-reality content. Examples of such features include directional picture-in-picture (PIP) windows based on viewing direction, directional audio based on viewing direction, user recommendations based on anomalous viewing times of certain visual features in video content, dynamic adjustment of time-to-live (TTL) durations prior to requesting deletion of video files uploaded to a content distribution network, dynamic adjustment of durations of video files to upload based on network capacity, dynamic adjustment of quantities of video files per set to upload based on network capacity, dynamic resizing of top-depicting or bottom-depicting regions within the picture areas of sets of video files, dynamic resizing of the picture areas themselves within sets of video files, or any suitable combination thereof
Methods and systems to provide a playlist for simultaneous presentation of a plurality of media assets
Systems and methods are described herein for generating a playlist for a simultaneous presentation of a plurality of media assets. The system retrieves a user preference associated with a user profile and receives a selection of a first media asset and a second media asset from the plurality of media assets for presentation on a user device. The system parses the respective audio streams of the first media asset and the second media asset to identify one or more preferred audio segments based on the user preference and generates the playlist of the identified one or more preferred audio segments. Based on a generated audio playlist, the system generates, for presentation on the user device, the video stream for each of the first media asset and the second media asset and the playlist of the identified one or more preferred audio segments.

USER DEFINED RULES FOR ASSIGNING DESTINATIONS OF CONTENT
A media guidance application is provided by which users can define rules for assigning user equipment devices as destinations for media content. For example, a user may define a rule by which selected media content having attributes that satisfy a user-defined condition are downloaded, recorded, or streamed to a particular, user-specified user equipment device. The user may define and manage rules using media guidance menus, and may restrict other users from accessing the rules (e.g., parents restricting children).

SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER VIEW WITHIN A COMMUNICATION SESSION
Methods and systems provide for a sign language interpreter view within a video communication session. In one embodiment, a method presents a user interface (“UI”) for each of a number of client devices connected to a communication session, each UI including one or more video feeds associated with participants of the communication session. The method receives a request from a first participant to be presented with a sign language interpreter (“SLI”) view within the UI; determines that a second participant is to be designated as a sign language interpreter for the communication session; and presents, within the UI of a client device associated with the first participant, an SLI view including at least a video feed of the second participant and a video feed of a highlighted speaker being interpreted by the second participant.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR RECORDING PROGRAMS USING A NETWORK RECORDING DEVICE AS SUPPLEMENTAL STORAGE
Systems and methods for recording programs using a user's equipment and a network recording device are provided. An interactive television application may determine whether the user's equipment has sufficient resources (e.g., tuners or space) to record a program selected for recording. If the interactive television application determines that the user's equipment does not have sufficient resources, the interactive television application may select, automatically or in response to a user instruction, the program for recording with a network recording device. In some embodiments, the user may have to pay for the use of the network recording device, or may be required to purchase a given tier level of service. The interactive television application may play back programs from the network recording device as VOD offerings, or may direct the network recording device to transfer recorded programs to the user's equipment when it has sufficient resources.
