Home theater system, audio/video playback device, audio output control device, and volume control method

A CPU in a home theater device transmits current sound volume control status data to a digital television receiving device when a theater mode is set. A CPU in the digital television receiving device updates, when the sound volume control status data has been received from the home theater device, sound volume control status data stored in a memory with the received sound volume control status data. A CPU in the digital television receiving device determines sound volume setting value data after an operation based on sound volume operation information fed from a remote control device and the sound volume control status data stored in the memory, and transmits a CEC command including the determined sound volume setting value data to the home theater device while displaying a ratio of the current sound volume to a maximum value in a sound volume adjustable range of the home theater device on a display.

Systems are disclosed including a television (TV) set having included audio system. The TV set permits control over various functions, at least including audio volume, via a remote control. When the viewer activates the remote volume control, a graphic appears indicating the state of the volume control and, optionally the mute status. The graphic can be presented on the TV screen. In alternate embodiments, the graphic may be presented on a display of the remote, or even some other location, e.g., a different remote control. If a mute button is provided on the remote control, when the viewer activates the mute button, a graphic appears indicating the state of muting and, optionally, the volume control status. The TV set also offers control over various aspects of the audio system, including settings which go beyond volume up/down, generally through some sort of menu system.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FRONTAL AUDIO RENDERING IN INTERACTION WITH SCREEN SIZE

Provided is an apparatus and method for frontal audio rendering in interaction with a screen size, the method including measuring playback environment information used to play back input content; and correcting an audio signal to be output based on the measured playback environment information and production environment information included in the input content.

Audio Synchronization of a Dumb Speaker and a Smart Speaker Using a Spread Code

Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for synchronizing playback of audiovisual content with a dumb speaker. In some embodiments, a display device transmits a spread spectrum signal to a dumb speaker over a data channel using a spread spectrum code. The display device then receives the spread spectrum signal from the dumb speaker over an audio data channel. The display device despreads the spread spectrum signal based on the spreading code. The display device determines a time of receipt of the spread spectrum signal. The display device calculates an audiovisual output path delay for the dumb speaker based on the time of receipt and a time of transmission. The display device then synchronizes the playback of the audiovisual content at the dumb speaker and a smart speaker based on the audiovisual output path delay.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ADAPTIVE AUTOMATED PRESET AUDIO EQUALIZER SETTINGS

An information handling system determines a frame rate of a frame or an image, and determines a type of an application based on a histogram analysis of the frame or the image analysis and on the frame rate. A hardware equalizer setting may also be applied for audio content based on the application type, wherein the hardware equalizer setting is from a pre-defined list of applications with corresponding hardware equalizer settings.

Display apparatus and method of controlling the same

The disclosure is to provide a display apparatus capable of increasing user convenience by outputting a screen and a sound under predetermined conditions when outputting a split screen, and a method of controlling the display apparatus. The display apparatus of the disclosure includes a speaker; a display; and in response to input of an output command for outputting the plurality of contents to the plurality of regions of the display, a controller configured to output image signals of a plurality of contents to a plurality of regions, and to output sound signals of the plurality of contents to the speaker. Sizes of the plurality of regions and an output intensity of the sound signal corresponding to the plurality of contents are configured to be determined based on priority information predetermined based on the plurality of contents.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH AUTOMATIC EYE GAZE TRACKING AND CAMERA ADJUSTMENT
20230276116 · 2023-08-31 ·

An electronic device, a method and a computer program product for camera adjustments based on eye gaze tracking. The method includes capturing, via a front facing camera, an image stream containing a face of a user and determining, via a processor, an eye gaze direction based on images retrieved from the image stream. The eye gaze direction corresponds to a location where the user is looking. In response to determining that the user is looking away from the front surface of the electronic device and towards a direction within a field of view of a rear facing camera, the method further includes identifying image characteristics of the location, generating camera settings of the rear facing camera based on the eye gaze direction/characteristics of the location and adjusting the rear facing camera using the generated camera settings such that the rear facing camera focuses on the location.

MEDIA PROCESSING DEVICE, MEDIA BROADCASTING SYSTEM, AND MEDIA PROCESSING METHOD

The present disclosure relates to a media broadcasting system, including a first broadcasting device, a second broadcasting device and a processing device. The first broadcasting device and the second broadcasting device are respectively arranged at a first side and a second side of the media broadcasting system. The processing device is electrically coupled to the first broadcasting device and the second broadcasting device, and is configured to receive a media. The processing device is configured to obtain a first channel audio signal and a second channel audio signal from the media according to a first position parameter corresponding to the first broadcasting device and a second position parameter corresponding to the second broadcasting device. The processing device is further configured to transmit the first channel audio signal to the first broadcasting device and the second channel audio signal to the second broadcasting device.

In some embodiments, an electronic device transmits a spread spectrum signal to a dumb speaker over a data channel using a spread spectrum code. The electronic device then receives the spread spectrum signal played back auditorily by the dumb speaker. The electronic device despreads the spread spectrum signal based on the spreading code. The electronic device determines a time of receipt of the spread spectrum signal. The electronic device calculates an audiovisual output path delay for the dumb speaker based on the time of receipt and a time of transmission. The electronic device then synchronizes the playback of the audiovisual content at the dumb speaker and another electronic device based on the audiovisual output path delay.

Spatial audio in video conference calls based on content type or participant role
11540078 · 2022-12-27 · ·

Systems and methods for multi-attendee video conferencing are described. A system can perform spatial audio modulation techniques in video conference calls based on content type or participant role. In particular, by assigning user roles and content types to specific regions in a two- or three-dimensional audio sound space or “soundstage,” users can identify—simply by listening—the source of the audio (e.g., who the current speaker is and/or whether the sound came from a specific type of content). Thus, in example implementations of the present disclosure, each of a number of conference roles and/or content types can be allocated a particular virtual location within the audio soundstage.
