Methods, systems, and media for causing an alert to be presented
Systems and methods for customizing video include providing a portion of video to an electronic display and identifying a character or personality in the portion of video. A request to perform an action regarding the portion of video may be detected and the action may be associated with the identified character or personality. The action may be performed on a second portion of video in response to the character or personality being identified in the second portion of video.
Prerecorded video experience container
A computer readable storage medium has stored thereon a prerecorded video experience container. The prerecorded video experience container includes a prerecorded video file that displays visual content, an executable experience which upon execution enables presentation of additional content associated with the prerecorded video file, and an interactive region of the prerecorded video file, wherein the interactive region of the prerecorded video file is associated with the executable experience such that a user interaction with the interactive region executes the executable experience. The prerecorded video file is displayed in response to a selection of the prerecorded video experience container. The executable experience associated with the prerecorded video file is executed in response to identifying an interaction with the interactive region. The additional content associated with the prerecorded video file is displayed in response to executing the executable experience.

BROADCAST RECEPTION DEVICE, BROADCAST RECEPTION METHOD, AND BROADCAST RECEPTION PROGRAM
A broadcast reception device includes: a program recording execution unit that stores, into a recording-content storage area, program identification information for identifying a broadcast program, and storage-destination information for specifying a server device storing the broadcast program; a reception function execution unit that transmits the program identification information and the program storage-destination information to the server device specified from the program storage-destination information; and an output unit that outputs sound information and image information on the broadcast program transmitted from the server device.
Multimedia signal processing system
A multimedia signal processing system utilizes an easily manipulated, low-cost storage and display system that allows the user to view a television program and instantly review previous scenes within the program. The invention also allows the user to store selected programs while simultaneously watching or reviewing another. A versatile system architecture enables providing the invention in multiple configurations, each adapted to receive input signals from a different source. At the highest level, the system includes an input section and an output section. Across all configurations, the output section remains substantially the same, while the input section varies according to the signal type and the source. Thus, several configurations are provided, each one requiring only minor system board modifications. The system architecture thus simplifies the design and manufacturing challenge presented by producing units to serve different markets, such as digital satellite, digital cable and analog cable.

Automatic playback overshoot correction system
An automatic playback overshoot correction system predicts the position in the program material where the user expects to be when the user stops the fast forward progression of the program material. The system determines the position where the program material was stopped and transitions to the new mode that the user selected, starting at the stopped position with an overshoot correction factor subtracted from it. The system uses a prediction method to correctly place the user within the program upon transition out of fast forward mode and determines if the speed of the fast forward mode and then automatically subtracts a time multiple to the frame where the transition was detected and positions the user at the correct frame. The time multiple is fine tuned if the user is consistently correcting after the fast forward mode stops.

User interface for method for creating a custom track
A system for allowing a user to create a custom track on a user apparatus, the user apparatus having a display is described. A memory stores a plurality of video clips and an audio track having a timeline. An application is stored in the memory. The application is configured to provide, on the display of the user apparatus, a plurality of video source windows, each of the plurality of video source windows corresponding to a respective one of the plurality of video clips. The application is further configured to allow the user to create the custom track while the audio track is playing by correlating portions of the plurality of video clips with the audio track by selecting respective ones of the plurality of video source windows at desired times in the timeline of the audio track.
