METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR IMAGE PROCESSING TO OPTIMIZE IMAGE RESOLUTION AND FOR OPTIMIZING VIDEO STREAMING BANDWIDTH FOR VR VIDEOS
The disclosure relates to optimizing and improving VR video resolution and bandwidth usage for VR videos. The processes and systems include receiving a video input and reassigning pixels within a viewport to maximize resolution around the center of the viewport. The process can include video frame stamping to provide a mechanism for a client-side player to determine characteristics of an optimized video frame display.

Provision of supplemental processing information
Supplemental processing information defining post-decoding instructions for processing decoded media content is co-organized in a file together with a pseudo-identifier of a media codec employed for encoding the media content. The co-organization trigger abortion of decoding of the media content by a legacy media terminal that does not recognize the pseudo-identifier but enables decoding of the media content by a media terminal that recognizes the pseudo-identifier to thereby enable post-decoding processing of the decoded media content using the supplemental processing information. The co-organization thereby prevents legacy media terminals that cannot use the supplemental processing information from decoding the media content and rendering the media content in a media presentation.
Method and apparatus for converting MMTP stream to MPEG-2TS
A method and an apparatus for converting a moving picture expert group (MPEG) media transport (MMT) stream into a MPEG-2 transport stream (TS). The method including applying restrictions to MMTP packets for the MMTP stream. The method also includes converting a presentation time and decoding time from a coordinated universal time (UTC) based absolute time to a program clock reference time (PCR) based value. The method further includes, when converting the MMTP stream to the MPEG-2 TS, constructing the MMTP stream based on MPEG-2 TS rules without adding or removing data by using a hypothetical receiver buffer model (HRBM). Additionally, the method includes determining values of MPEG-2 TS packet fields of a TS packet layer, an adaptation field and Packetized Elementary Stream (PES) packets from values of the MMTP packets.
VIDEO CONTENT SELECTION
A method and apparatus are disclosed for detecting a user selection of a positioning tag; retrieving directional information and timestamp information relating to the selected tag; comparing directional information relating to the selected tag with directional information of an array of cameras arranged to capture video content from a recording area; identifying video content captured by one or more cameras from an array of cameras arranged to capture video content from a recording area, wherein the video content captured by the one or more cameras is identified if the one or more cameras have captured video content from a section of the recording area relevant to the location of the selected tag over a time period relevant to the timestamp information relating to the selected tag; and selecting the identified video content obtained from the one or more cameras for display.

Electronic device and method for operating the same
A video compressing apparatus and method that may increase the compression efficiency while maintaining the quality of video on an electronic device processing multimedia data including video are provided. The apparatus includes a video compressing apparatus and method that obtain a target image from a memory or camera, generate meta data corresponding to attribute information of the obtained target image, and compress the target image based on, at least, the generated meta data.
Image sensor and image capturing apparatus
An image sensor provided with an imaging unit including a plurality of photoelectric converters, the image sensor comprises: an input unit to which compressed image data is input from the outside of the image sensor; a decompressor for decompressing the compressed image data input from the input unit; and an image processor that applies image processing to image pickup data obtained from the imaging unit and to the image data decompressed by the decompressor.

PROTECTING PERSONAL PRIVACY IN A VIDEO MONITORING SYSTEM
An image acquisition device compresses a media signal representative of a scene based on a sensing matrix that is a determined by a sensing matrix template and a set of template parameters. The image acquisition device provides the compressed media signal to a receiver and selectively provides a specification of a subset of the set of template parameters to the receiver. The receiver extracts one or more scene descriptors representative of one or more portions of the scene from the compressed media signal using the sensing matrix template without knowledge of the template parameters that are not included in the subset. The template parameters that are not included in the subset are not received by the receiver.
