Liquid crystal display unit and projection display apparatus
A liquid crystal display unit includes a liquid crystal display element for modulating light; and a holder part which has a holding portion, at least one connecting portion, an attenuation portion, and a plurality of through-holes. The holding portion holds the liquid crystal display element. The connecting portion is formed integrally with the holding portion, and may be connected to a fixing member for fixing a position of the liquid crystal display element. The attenuation portion is formed in the area from the connecting portion to the holding portion, and attenuates a force transmitting from the connecting portion to the holding portion. The through-holes are formed in the at least one connecting portion. The through-holes include at least one cut-out-through-hole having its part opened. The through-holes allow insertion of connecting members for connection to the fixing member.
Robotically controlled entertainment elements
A robotic mount is configured to move an entertainment element such as a video display, a video projector, a video projector screen or a staircase. The robotic mount is movable in multiple degrees of freedom, whereby the associated entertainment element is moveable in three-dimensional space. In one embodiment, a system of entertainment elements are made to move and operate in synchronicity with each other.
Immersive communication terminals
Enterprise communication display systems enable life-like images for videoconferencing and entertainment productions. Life-like images appear in a 3D environment where imaged people are visible through specially configured see-through displays. Imaged people can be viewed amongst a reflected foreground. Methods for enterprise-wide deployments for corporate, healthcare, education, theater which includes cinema and government communications, including hotel properties and a property management system are shown. Direct projection see-through screen configurations are created that eliminate unwanted secondary images in the room, conceal exposed projector lenses, reduce lens flare, makes practical multi-use room installations, images conferees among a room environment, enables touch screen interactivity, and utilizes extreme and other types of short throw projectors to reduce cost and bulk of common throw projectors. Of these transparent screens inventive configurations of substantially invisible mesh screens for both front and rear projection are described. Further, transparent LCDs are inventively configured to enable imaged life-size persons for videoconferencing in numerous configurations including with the light source removed from the LCD and placed away from the imaged persons. Further, display and camera configurations are revealed that improves the videoconferencing experience.
Projection Information Display
In an illustrative embodiment, systems and methods for controlling projection of graphical elements onto surfaces of an aircraft cabin interior may include a projector mounted to a surface of a static element of an aircraft passenger suite that outputs the graphical element onto a projection surface. The graphical element may correspond to a received projection request. A controller may receive a projection request from a computing device indicating a type of graphical element for display onto the projection surface. The type of graphical element may correspond to a type of communication message such as a message between a passenger and a flight attendant within the aircraft cabin. The graphical element may generated for display by the projector based on at least one of the type of graphical element associated with the received projection request and a native language of the passenger or flight attendant.
PROJECTOR AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING PROJECTOR
A projector including a light source, a power supply section, a power supply control section that controls power supply from the power supply section, a projection lens that projects an image, and a projection system driver that moves the projection lens, wherein the power supply control section performs, as power supply modes, an operation mode in which power is supplied to the light source section to allow the light source section to output light and a first standby mode in which the power supply to the light source section is terminated, and in the first standby mode, power is supplied to the projection system driver to allow the projection lens to move to an attachment/detachment position where the projection lens is attachable and detachable.
DISPLAY DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device according to an embodiment include a projecting section, a receiving section configured to receive operation by a permitted operation unit, a mode control section configured to switch a first mode and a second mode in which the operation unit, the operation by which is permitted, is different, an interface section configured to be coupled to external devices, and an identifying section configured to identify an external device to which the interface section is coupled. The mode control section executes the first mode when the interface section is not coupled to a specific external device set in advance and executes the second mode when the interface section is coupled to the specific external device.
Integrated furniture system for inconspicuously housing audiovisual equipment
An integrated furniture system inconspicuously houses audiovisual equipment. The system includes a projector cabinet and a columnar supported screen assembly. The assembly comprises a screen for displaying a projected image with a frame around its perimeter and a pair of columnar screen supports located at opposite side edges of the screen. Each column comprises a hollow base with a slot formed in its interior surface and a foldable column with hollow top and bottom sections interconnected by a hinge. The bottom section has an attachment plate and a tongue portion extending from an exterior surface thereof. The tongue portion is insertable within the slot in the hollow base. A bracket attaches the screen to the neighboring columnar screen support. The bracket has a pair of side rails, one which is attached to a side surface of the column facing the screen and the other rail attached to the screen frame.
MULTI-MODAL PROJECTION DISPLAY
A multi-modal display device is presented. The display device has a shell having an internal projection screen and an opening, a projector emitting a projection beam from inside the shell. There is an optical guide adjusting a position of the projector to aim the projection beam at either the internal projection screen or the opening. A processor coupled to the optical guide may select a display position, wherein different display positions are associated with different display area sizes. The method includes determining a distance between a projector and a user, and automatically selecting a display mode based on the distance.
PROJECTION DEVICE AND HEAD-UP DISPLAY DEVICE
The present invention is compact and inexpensive, has good light efficiency, and enables a display image having a plurality of display distances to be displayed. A display emits projection light for displaying a display image at a predetermined position, and an image formation position adjusting mirror receives the projection light emitted from the display, performs conversion into a plurality of first projection light and second projection light that have different image formation distances by changing the image formation distance of the projection light that is at least part of the incident projection light, and reflects the first projection light and the second projection light to project the first projection light and the second projection light onto a first screen and a second screen.
Projection apparatus
An object of the present invention is to provide a projection apparatus capable of appropriately performing control relating to rotation of the projection lens. A projection apparatus according to a first aspect of the present invention includes a housing; a power supply; and a projection lens attached to the housing, the projection lens having a holder and a locking mechanism unit that brings rotation of the holder into a locked state or an unlocked state. Rotation of the holder is in the locked state when the power supply has been turned on. With the first aspect, since the power is turned on in a state in which the projection lens is not rotatable, the locked state can be safely unlocked by user's intention and the holder can be rotated.
