Electronic device
An electronic device includes: a communication unit that is engaged in communication with an external device; a control unit that adds image information into transmission data to be transmitted to the communication unit; and a decision-making unit that makes a decision in correspondence to information indicating a recipient of the transmission data as to whether or not to allow photographing location information included in the image information to be included in the transmission data.
Media player configured to receive playback filters from alternative storage mediums
A media player configured with a first removable memory reader, such as a DVD drive, and a second removable memory reader, such as a flash memory reader, adapted to communicate with a removable memory containing filter data. The media player is configured to allow filtered playback of a multimedia presentation, such as a movie. Filtered playbabk causes certain portions of the multimedia presentation to be skipped, muted, blurred, cropped, or otherwise modified to eliminate or reduce potentially objectionable scenes, language, or other content. The second memory reader provides a convenient medium for the loading of filter information, whether data files, executable program code, or the like, to local memory of the media player to employ during filtered playback. Alternatively, the filters may be accessed from the removable storage media during playback rather than loading to local memory.
MOVIE ADVERTISING PLAYBACK SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An ad in a movie can be a static ad having a position in the movie that cannot be moved, or a dynamic ad having a position in the movie that can be changed. When a viewer wishes to skip a portion of the movie containing the ad, the playback system determines whether the ad is static or dynamic. If the ad is static, only the portion of the movie preceding the static ad can be skipped; the ad is unskippable. This technique is referred to as “bounceback” since the end of the skip bounces back to the start of the static ad. If the ad is dynamic, it is moved to after the end of the skip. This technique is referred to as “slip-ad” since the ad slips to later in the movie. When a movie has multiple ads, some can be static and some can be dynamic.
METHODS OF STORING MEDIA FILES AND RETURNING FILE DATA FOR MEDIA FILES AND MEDIA FILE SYSTEMS
A media file system, apparatus, computer program product and method for storing a media file in a media file system. An exemplary method includes obtaining a predetermined number of frames and determining a set of portions for storing the media file, each portion having an identifier that is indicative of a multiple of the predetermined number of frames. Further, for each portion of the set of portions, associating with the portion the segment of the media file containing the frame indicated by the identifier of the portion, and associating each of the remaining segments of the media file with a portion of the set of portions. Moreover, storing the media file in the media file system as the set of determined portions, each portion comprising its associated segments of the media file.
Imaging apparatus and control method thereof
During capturing, image data obtained by applying a simplified development process to RAW image data is recorded together with a RAW image. Afterward, image data obtained by applying a high quality development process to the RAW image data is generated, and this image data replaces the image data obtained by the simplified development. Information indicating a state of progress of the high quality development process is displayed in association with an image, thereby enabling selection of the processes in consideration of the state of progress. It is possible to achieve an imaging apparatus capable of recording a RAW image without the need of a circuit for performing a high-speed development process and in such a manner that the RAW image can be easily reproduced when necessary.
DIGITAL EVIDENCE MANAGEMENT METHOD AND DIGITAL EVIDENCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A digital evidence management system 1 is configured to comprise a storage device that stores log data of a device operated in a predetermined process and video data obtained by shooting the process, and a computing device that executes a processing of specifying sectional video data for a time frame where the log data exists out of the video data, a processing of applying a predetermined data reduction processing to the sectional video data, and a processing of storing the video data subjected to the data reduction processing for the sectional video data in the storage device as digital evidence for the process.
Adaptive pattern recognition based controller apparatus and method and human-factored interface therefore
The need for a more readily usable interface for programmable devices is widely recognized. The present invention relates to programmable sequencing devices, or, more particularly, the remote controls for consumer electronic devices. The present invention provides an enhanced interface for facilitating human input of a desired control sequence in a programmable device by employing specialized visual feedback. The present invention also relates to a new interface and method of interfacing with a programmable device, which is usable as an interface for a programmable video cassette recorder.
IMAGE CAPTURING METHOD AND DISPLAY METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING A RELATIONSHIP AMONG A PLURALITY OF IMAGES DISPLAYED ON A DISPLAY SCREEN
An image capturing apparatus includes a capture part acquiring image data, and a display displaying an image on a display based on the image data. First information acquired includes at least either an azimuth angle or an elevation angle as a direction of the image and at least either an angle of view of the image or angle-of-view related information calculating the angle of view. When a second direction of a second image is included within a range of a first angle of view in a first direction of a first image, the second image is associated with the first image, and the first image is displayed within the display, and display is performed in a state in which the second image to be associated with the first image is overlapped on the first image within the display as the second image or second information indicating the second image.
Imaging apparatus and imaging apparatus control method
An imaging apparatus is configured to capture an object image, generate a RAW image, perform simple development on the RAW image during the image capturing operation, and store not only the developed image but also the RAW image in a storage medium. If the imaging apparatus displays an image during the image capturing operation and immediately after the image capturing operation, the imaging apparatus displays the image processed by the simple development. When the imaging apparatus completes processing of high-quality image development, the imaging apparatus replaces the image processed by the simple development with the image processed by the high-quality image development and displays the image processed by the high-quality image development.
