A system and method may provide video content for training a user in an athletic motion or action. For example, video content may be provided with diminishing visibility to allow the user to visualize and imagine the action presented in the video content. In another example, a portion of a video content may be faded out, not displayed, or obscured to allow for visualization and imagination of the portion. In another example, video content may be presented in an manner that retains a user's interest despite repeated viewings.

Caption timestamp predictor

An automated solution to determine suitable time ranges or timestamps for captions is described. In one example, a content file includes subtitle data with captions for display over respective timeframes of video. Audio data is extracted from the video, and the audio data is compared against a sound threshold to identify auditory timeframes in which sound is above the threshold. The subtitle data is also parsed to identify subtitle-free timeframes in the video. A series of candidate time ranges is then identified based on overlapping ranges of the auditory timeframes and the subtitle-free timeframes. In some cases, one or more of the candidate time ranges can be merged together or omitted, and a final series of time ranges or timestamps for captions is obtained. The time ranges or timestamps can be used to add additional non-verbal and contextual captions and indicators, for example, or for other purposes.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRESENTING VIRTUAL REALITY CONTENT TO A USER
20230254465 · 2023-08-10 ·

This disclosure describes a system configured to present primary and secondary, tertiary, etc., virtual reality content to a user. Primary virtual reality content may be displayed to a user, and, responsive to the user turning his view away from the primary virtual reality content, a sensory cue is provided to the user that indicates to the user that his view is no longer directed toward the primary virtual reality content, and secondary, tertiary, etc., virtual reality content may be displayed to the user. Primary virtual reality content may resume when the user returns his view to the primary virtual reality content. Primary virtual reality content may be adjusted based on a user's interaction with the secondary, tertiary, etc., virtual reality content. Secondary, tertiary, etc., virtual reality content may be adjusted based on a user's progression through the primary virtual reality content, or interaction with the primary virtual reality content.

Modifying playback of replacement content responsive to detection of remote control signals that control a device providing video to the playback device

In one aspect, an example method includes (i) providing, by a playback device, replacement media content for display; (ii) determining, by the playback device that while the playback device is displaying the replacement media content a remote control transmitted an instruction to a media device that provides media content to the playback device; (iii) determining, by the playback device, a playback-modification action corresponding to the instruction and the media device; and (iv) modifying, by the playback device, playback of the replacement media content in accordance with the playback-modification action.

Information processing apparatus, information processing method, and non-transitory computer readable medium

An information processing apparatus includes a receiving unit that receives, during or after reproduction of a video, a predetermined operation with respect to the video, an associating unit that associates the received operation with a reproduction location where the received operation has been generated in the video, and a setting unit that sets in response to the received operation an importance degree of the reproduction location associated with the received operation.

Template-based excerpting and rendering of multimedia performance

Disclosed herein are computer-implemented method, system, and computer-readable storage-medium embodiments for implementing template-based excerpting and rendering of multimedia performances technologies. An embodiment includes at least one computer processor configured to retrieve a first content instance and corresponding first metadata. The first content instance may include a first plurality of structural elements, with at least one structural element corresponding to at least part of the first metadata. The first content instance may be transformed by a rendering engine running on the at least one computer processor and/or transmitted to a content-playback device.

An association with a system timing at the time of transmission is secured without changing a display timing in text information of a subtitle, and a reception side displays the subtitle at an appropriate timing. A packet in which a document of the text information of the subtitle having display timing information is included in a payload is generated and transmitted in synchronization with a sample period. A header of the packet includes a time stamp on a first time axis indicating a start time of the corresponding sample period. The payload of the packet further includes reference time information of a second time axis regarding the display timing associated with the start time of the corresponding sample period.

AUDIO AND VIDEO RECORDING AND STREAMING IN A THREE-COMPUTER BOOTH
20220019806 · 2022-01-20 ·

A system and method are presented for recording audio and video of an individual within a kiosk on separate audio and video computers that are locally connected to the kiosk. Instructions are provided to the individual through a locally connected controller computer. A remote user computer requests recorded data from the kiosk. The controller computer prompts the audio and video computers to separately stream audio and video to the remote user computer. The controller computer divides the audio and video data into time segments, and then presents different versions of the session to different users, with each different version comprising a different set of time segments. A central system server provides searching capabilities to the user computer to search and request data from a plurality of remotely located kiosks, each having separate controller, audio, and video computers.

Image processing device, reproduction device, image processing method, and reproduction method

An image processing device includes an acquisition section configured to acquire still image data obtained by imaging, a generator configured to generate, from the still image data acquired by the acquisition section, a logically single data unit including first still image data and second still image data different from each other in luminance dynamic range and reproducible independently from each other, and an output section configured to output the data unit generated by the generator.
