A 3D image pixel in a spatially multiplexed stereo 3D display includes a first left-eye subpixel and a second left-eye subpixel that are both driven when displaying the left-eye image. The 3D image pixel also includes a first right-eye subpixel and a second right-eye subpixel that are both driven when displaying the right-eye image. The subpixels may all have a square shape. Single color emitters in the subpixels of the same eye may be driven by the same electronics. A 3D image pixel in a second spatially multiplexed stereo 3D display includes a left-eye pixel driven when displaying the left-eye image and a right-eye pixel driven when displaying the right-eye image. The pixels may all have a rectangular shape, and the horizontal measurement of the pixels may be greater than the vertical measurement of the pixels.

Image display system for calibrating a sound projector

The present disclosure relates to an image display system, including a television having a screen, a sound projector, a control unit in signal communication with said screen and said sound projector, said control unit being configured for said sound projector to project one or more audible beams in a room towards one or more target paths. The system includes an optical instrument having a frame and a pair of lenses, detection means and transmission means, said detection means being designed to receive at their input an audio signal having a frequency falling in a 20-20 kHz frequency band and to output a processed signal, said transmission means being designed to receive at their input said processed signal, and to output a calibration signal. The control unit calibrates said sound projector according to said calibration signal generated by said optical instrument.

A 3D laser projection systems and methods are disclosed herein. A laser projection system includes a left projector head and a right projector head, wherein a first video projected onto a movie screen by the left projector head has a first polarization and a second video projected onto the movie screen by the right projector head has a second polarization different from the first polarization. The laser projection system can include a laser light generator located a first defined distance away from the left projector head and a second defined distance from the right projector head and coupled to the left projector head and the right projector head with fiber optic cables that transmit light from the laser light generator to the left projector head and the right projector head. The laser light generator includes a laser diode configured to output light and to transmit it to the fiber optic cables.

Apparatus for adapting a presentation of media content according to a position of a viewing apparatus

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer instructions to detect a first position of a viewing apparatus, wherein the viewing apparatus enables viewing of media programs, obtain a media program in a first viewing perspective that conforms to the first position, present the media program with the first viewing perspective for viewing by way of the viewing apparatus, and transmit to the viewing apparatus a first audio signal corresponding to the first viewing perspective. The storage medium can also have computer instructions to detect that the viewing apparatus has moved to a second position, obtain the media program in a second viewing perspective according to the second position, and present the media program with the second viewing perspective for viewing by way of the viewing apparatus. Other embodiments are disclosed and contemplated.

STEREOSCOPIC DISPLAY
20170329402 · 2017-11-16 ·

A direct interaction stereoscopic display system that produces an augmented or virtual reality environment. The system comprises one or more displays, a beam combiner, and a mirrored surface to virtually project high-resolution flicker-free stereoscopic 3D imagery into a graphics volume in an open region. Viewpoint tracking is provided enabling motion parallax cues. A user interaction volume co-inhabits the graphics volume and a precise low-latency sensor allows users to directly interact with 3D virtual objects or interfaces without occluding the graphics. An adjustable support frame permits the 3D imagery to be readily positioned in situ with real environments for augmented reality applications. Individual display components may be adjusted to precisely align the 3D imagery with components of real environments for high-precision applications and also to match accommodation-vergence distances to prevent eye strain. The system's modular design and adjustability allows display panel pairs of various sizes and models to be installed.
