REPRODUCTION DEVICE, REPRODUCTION METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
The present technology relates to a reproduction device, a reproduction method, and a recording medium capable of suppressing influence of motion parallax and image distortion. There is provided a reproduction device including an image processing unit that performs processing including: projecting an image captured from a specific position in a real space on a projection surface arranged according to a reference position set in a virtual space; acquiring a head movement amount of a user viewing the projected image; changing, according to the head movement amount with respect to the reference position in a first direction that is at least one of a left-right direction or an up-down direction as viewed from the user, a first relative distance between the reference position and a user position in the first direction; changing, according to the head movement amount with respect to the reference position in a second direction that is a front-back direction as viewed from the user, a second relative distance between the reference position and the user position in the second direction; and causing a change amount of the first relative distance to be smaller than a change amount of the second relative distance. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a head mounted display.

Three-dimensional image processing apparatus and method for adjusting location of sweet spot for displaying multi-view image
A three-dimensional image processing apparatus and a method for controlling a location of a sweet spot for displaying a multi-view image are disclosed. A receiver receives a multi-view image including a plurality of view images. A controller detects a plurality of users from an image obtained by taking a watching zone, acquires user location information indicating locations of the plurality of detected users, calculates distance information indicating a distance between the detected users by using the acquired user location information, and controls a location of a sweet spot for viewing the plurality of view images on the basis of the calculated distance information and a length of a dead zone of the multi-view image.
3D ARTS VIEWING ON DISPLAY DEVICES
An apparatus for three dimensional (3D) art viewing includes one or more sensors and a processor operably coupled to the one or more sensors. The processor is configured to detect, using the one or more sensors, a position of a user. The processor is additionally configured to output, for display, an aspect of an image based on the position of the user. The processor is also configured to obtain, using the one or more sensors, movement data associated with a movement of the user. The processor is further configured to apply temporal smoothing to smooth the movement data. In addition, the processor is configured to map the smoothed movement data to a series of view indices. The processor is also configured to change the aspect of the image for display based on the mapped series of view indices.
Multi-view display control
A multi-view display controller determines view angles for each view of a multi-view media content for each viewer watching a multi-view display. The view angles determined for a viewer collectively define a viewer cone that displays the views onto the viewer. Media data of the multi-view media content is output together with information of the determined view angles to the multi-view display in order to allow each viewer to have the same experience of displayed media content regardless of where the viewer is positioned relative to the multi-view display.
Device case including a projector
One disclosed example provides a method for displaying a hologram via a head-mounted display (HMD) device. The method comprises, via a camera system on the HMD device, acquiring image data capturing a surrounding environment by detecting illumination light output by a projector located on a case for the HMD device. A distance is determined from the HMD device to an object in the surrounding environment based upon the image data. The method further comprises displaying via the HMD device a hologram, the hologram comprising a left-eye image and a right-eye image each having a perspective based upon the distance determined.
Autostereoscopic screen and method for reproducing image information
The present invention relates to an autostereoscopic screen for the simultaneous reproduction of at least two different images, in a manner such that each of these images is visible from at least one of different viewing zones, comprising a subpixel matrix, an optical element and a control unit, wherein the control unit is configured, on the subpixel matrix, to define different subsets of subpixels such that each of the subsets forms a family of parallel strips and is assigned to at least one of the viewing zones, wherein the strips of the different subsets cyclically alternate, and to activate the subpixels in dependence on image data such that each of the images is reproduced on one of the subsets, wherein the optical element has a grating-like structure aligned according to the strips, in order to lead light departing from the subpixels of each of the subsets into the viewing zone assigned to this subgroup. Thereby, the control unit is further configured to define the subsets such that two of subsets overlap, and to activate the subpixels within an intersection of these subsets, in each case with an averaged intensity value. The invention further relates to a suitable method for reproducing image information on an autostereoscopic screen.
Method and apparatus for adjusting viewing area, and device capable of three-dimension displaying video signal

The method for determining the position of the viewer is applied in an electronic device comprising a display screen capable of displaying three-dimensional video signals. The viewing areas of the electronic device include a three-dimensional display area and a non-three-dimensional display area. The method comprises: acquiring the image in front of the electronic device; judging whether the image contains the face image of the viewer; if the image contains the face image, identifying at least one feature in the face image to determine the position of the viewer; according to the at least one feature, determining whether the viewing area of the viewer is a three-dimensional display area or a non-three-dimensional display area.
