THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A three-dimensional imaging system and method are provided. The three-dimensional imaging system includes a suspension force field generator, a projection module, and a controller. The suspension force field generator generates a suspension force field to suspend a plurality of scattering particles used for scattering incident light and distribute the scattering particles on a projection plane. The projection module projects an image on the projection plane. The controller is coupled to the suspension force field generator and the projection module, controls the suspension force field generator to change the suspension force field so that the projection plane where the scattering particles are distributed moves in a display space, extracts a slice plane image that matches a position of the projection plane from multiple slice plane images sliced from a three-dimensional stereoscopic image, and controls the projection module to project the extracted slice plane image to the projection plane.

Wagering gaming apparatus for detecting user interaction with game components in a three-dimensional display

A wagering gaming apparatus is provided, comprising a 3-dimensional (3D) display device configured to create for a player a visual illusion of a 3D scene for a wagering game, the 3D scene having perceived depth in a z-direction perpendicular to a physical screen having width in an x-direction and height in a y-direction; one or more sensor devices configured to sense a physical location of one or more anatomical features of the player; at least one processor; and at least one non-transitory processor-readable storage medium storing processor-executable instructions. The processor-executable instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform various adjustments regarding the 3D scene based on the sensed physical location of an anatomical feature of the player.

GRATING BASED THREE-DIMENTIONAL DISPLAY METHOD FOR PRESENTING MORE THAN ONE VIEWS TO EACH PUPIL
20190373239 · 2019-12-05 · ·

The invention features techniques for presenting more than one perspective views to each eye of the viewer, through generating viewing zones with an interval smaller than the diameter of the viewer's pupil by display panel/grating pair/pairs. In the first method, the arraying direction of the small-interval viewing zones is designed having an appropriate small inclination angle to the line connecting the viewer's two pupils, so as to cover each eye with more than one viewing zones which are different with each other. In the extreme case, 4 small-interval viewing zones can implement 3D display with two views for each eye. This is absolutely different with existing grating-based 3D display, which aligns viewing zones along the direction with a small angle (</4) to the line connecting the viewer's two pupils and thus a rather large number of small-interval viewing zone is needed for covering the viewer's two eyes.

Apparatus for adapting a presentation of media content according to a position of a viewing apparatus

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer instructions to detect a first position of a viewing apparatus, wherein the viewing apparatus enables viewing of media programs, obtain a media program in a first viewing perspective that conforms to the first position, present the media program with the first viewing perspective for viewing by way of the viewing apparatus, and transmit to the viewing apparatus a first audio signal corresponding to the first viewing perspective. The storage medium can also have computer instructions to detect that the viewing apparatus has moved to a second position, obtain the media program in a second viewing perspective according to the second position, and present the media program with the second viewing perspective for viewing by way of the viewing apparatus. Other embodiments are disclosed and contemplated.

Display device and display control method

A display device comprises a display panel (24), a light blocking arrangement for selectively blocking light which is directed to a lateral output direction from the display panel and an array of lenses (27). The display has a privacy mode in which the light blocking arrangement blocks laterally directed light output from the display device and a public mode in which the light blocking arrangement allows light to pass which is directed to a lateral output direction. The light blocking arrangement comprises a stack of layers (80), each layer comprising a pattern of light blocking arrangement portions of two different types (90,92) such that in the stack of layers, the portions align to form light blocking members, each light blocking member being aligned with an respective lens. The repeating pattern of the light blocking members has a pitch which is double the lens pitch. This enables the light blocking arrangement to be manufactured more easily.
