20230120657 · 2023-04-20 ·

A video encoding method includes encoding images of an image sequence to generate a bitstream of the image sequence. Different identifiers are used for two chrominance components of one image in a syntax element of an image level in the bitstream to indicate whether the corresponding chrominance components are filtered by adaptive loop filtering (ALF).

RESIDUAL AND COEFFICIENTS CODING FOR VIDEO CODING

This application is directed to coding video data including a plurality of transform blocks according to a transform skip mode. Two or more control flags are obtained with the video data to indicate signaling of a Rice parameter for the transform blocks on different hierarchical levels. In accordance with a determination that a first control flag is enabled on a first hierarchical level and a second control flag is enabled on a second hierarchical level lower than the first hierarchical level, entropy coding is performed for a subset of the transform blocks based on a Rice parameter obtained with the video data. In accordance with a determination that the first control flag is enabled and that the second control flag is disabled on the second hierarchical level, entropy coding is performed for the subset of the transform blocks based on a predetermined Rice parameter at the second hierarchical level.

Methods and apparatuses for encoding and decoding a bytestream

There is provided a method of decoding a received set of encoded data, the method comprising: receiving an encoded dataset; identifying from the dataset an ordered set of node symbols and data symbols, wherein a node symbol comprises a predetermined number of elements wherein each element indicates if a subsequent node symbol or data symbol is to be expected in the dataset and a data symbol is a predetermined number of bits which represent an encoded value; constructing, based on said ordered set, an ordered tree having a predetermined number of layers from the identified node symbols and data symbols.

Gradual decoding refresh in video coding

A method of decoding a coded video bitstream implemented by a video decoder is disclosed. The method includes determining that a coded video sequence (CVS) of the coded video bitstream includes a video coding layer (VCL) network abstraction layer (NAL) unit having a gradual decoding refresh (GDR) network abstraction layer (NAL) unit type (GDR_NUT), the VCL NAL unit having the GDR_NUT containing a GDR picture; initiating decoding of the CVS at the GDR picture; and generating an image according to the CVS as decoded. A corresponding method of encoding is also disclosed.

Low-latency Video Coding Methods and Apparatuses for Chroma Separated Tree

Low-latency video coding methods and apparatuses include receiving input data associated with a current Intra slice composed of Coding Tree Units (CTU), where each CTU includes luma and chroma Coding Tree Blocks (CTBs), partitioning each CTB into non-overlapping pipeline units, and encoding or decoding the CTUs in the current Intra slices by performing processing of chroma pipeline units after beginning processing of luma pipeline units in at least one pipeline stage. Each of the pipeline units is processed by one pipeline stage after another pipeline stage, and different pipeline stages process different pipeline units simultaneously. The pipeline stage in the low-latency video coding methods and apparatuses simultaneously processes one luma pipeline unit and at least one previous chroma pipeline unit within one pipeline unit time interval.

Method and apparatus of luma-chroma separated coding tree coding with constraints

A methods and apparatus for adaptive data dependency between corresponding blocks partitioned from separate partition trees according to an embodiment of the present invention are disclosed. The data dependency between different tree structures is allowed when the tree structures are mutually inclusive. When the splitting is not used in one tree or when splitting is used in one tree and the same splitting or no split is used in the other tree, the data dependency between different tree structures is allowed. When the splitting in different tree structures are different, then the data dependency between different tree structures is disallowed. For each leaf CU in chroma tree, it should include one or more complete luma leaf CUs or it is completely included in one luma leaf CU, when the data dependency between different tree structures is allowed. Otherwise, then the data dependency between different tree structures is disallowed.

Video processing

A method for deriving a value for a first syntax element, Syntax_A. The method comprises determining whether Syntax_A is present in a bitstream. The method comprises, as a result of determining that Syntax_A is not present in the bitstream, deriving the value for Syntax_A to be equal to a first value, B, if a first condition is satisfied, or deriving the value for Syntax_A to be equal to a second value, C, if a second condition is satisfied.

CODING TREE UNIT SIZE SIGNALING

A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for coding video data. Video data having a coding tree unit size is received. The coding tree unit size associated with the video data is signaled by setting two or more flags. The video data is encoded/decoded based on the flags corresponding to the signaled coding tree unit size.

A method implemented by a video coding apparatus includes applying a neural network (NN) filter to an unfiltered sample of a video unit to generate a filtered sample, wherein the NN filter is based on an NN filter model generated using a quality-level indicator (QI) input. The method also includes converting between a video media file and a bitstream based on the filtered sample that was generated.

An example method of video processing includes partitioning, for a conversion between a current video block of a picture of a video and a bitstream of the video, the picture into one or more slices according to a requirement of bitstream conformance. The requirement of bitstream conformance specifies that a union of the one or more slices covers the whole picture, and a first syntax element is included in the bitstream to indicate whether the one or more slices have a rectangular shape. The method also includes performing the conversion at least based on the partitioning.
