Weed Trimming Head Assembly
A weed trimming head assembly includes a hub that has a plurality of arms each radiating outwardly between a central coupling and an outer ring. Each of the arms has a channel integrated into the arms and the channel extends between the central coupling and the outer ring. A plurality of trimming lines is provided and each of the trimming lines is slidably insertable into the channel in a respective one of the arms. Moreover, each of the trimming lines extends outwardly from the outer ring of the hub. In this way each of the trimming lines can trim grass when the hub is rotated by the weed trimmer.
Balanced housing construction for flexible line trimmer head
A housing having a rotary axis and configured to support at least one radially projecting cutting component that effects cutting as the housing is turned around the rotary axis. The housing has a first housing part with a first wall and a plurality of discrete circumferentially spaced cavities in the first wall and each having a volume. The volumes of at least a first and second of the cavities respectively at first and second locations are different and strategically selected to cause a mass distribution on the housing that contributes to improved dynamic balancing of the housing as the housing is turned around the rotary axis.
Externally windable trimmer head
The cutting head assembly object of the present invention comprises a trimmer line feed mechanism and a trimmer line winding mechanism. A lower cover member coupled to the housing member and has a central opening to hold a ground engaging button member. The ground engaging button member is rotationally engaged to the spool. The upper section of the ground engaging button member and the internal walls of the cover ring have radially and axially extending structures which cooperate with each other to provide a ratcheting and indexing mechanisms that allows controlled rotation of the spool which is constrained from axial movement relative to the housing member by biasing the force of a compression spring which also maintains the ground engaging member in an extended position. The winding mechanism allows to manually turn the knob in one direction while the indexing mechanism allows to control rotational increments of the knob to allow the spool to release controlled increments of line when the ground engaging member is bumped against the ground and to stop rotation of the spool during normal running position.
FLEXIBLE ROTARY CUTTING DEVICE AND METHOD
A flexible rotary cutting device useful for attaching to a rotary drive configured to trim vegetation, particularly a lawn mower. The flexible rotary cutting device includes a cutting head, an attachment mechanism, at least one cutting-filament retention mechanisms, and at least one cutting-filament. At least one cutting-filament may be releasably attached to the at least one cutting-filament retention mechanism. The at least one cutting-filament may be configured to sever vegetation as the cutting head is rotated, and may be positioned such that it is passed through the at least one filament-aperture, and between the first-filament engaging pawl and the second-filament engaging pawl, in such a way that the at least one cutting-filament is engaged and anchored by the first-plurality of teeth and the second-plurality of teeth, and extends radially from the outer flange of the cutting head.
GRASS TRIMMING HEAD AND GRASS TRIMMER HAVING THE SAME
A grass trimming head includes a housing assembly and a spool. The housing assembly is formed with a housing cavity and an outer aperture for allowing a cutting line to be inserted from an outside of the housing assembly into the housing cavity. At least a portion of the spool is arranged inside the housing cavity, and the spool is rotatable with respect to the housing assembly about a central axis. The spool is formed with an inner aperture for allowing the cutting line to be inserted into the spool or a clamping portion configured to fix the cutting line.
Reversible line blades
A reversible line blade for a rotating trimmer includes a loading section configured to be securable for rotation with a head of the rotating trimmer, a living hinge extending from the loading section, and a transition section extending from the living hinge and having a first cross-sectional shape with matching leading edge and trailing edge geometries. A cutting segment extends from the transition section and has a second cross-sectional shape that is different from the first cross-sectional shape. With matching lead edge and trailing edge geometries, the same line blade is functional for both clockwise trimmers and counter-clockwise trimmers.
Spool For Straight Through Line Feed Vegetation Trimmer Apparatus With Modules And Spokes
A trimmer head for use with either clockwise or counterclockwise trimmer heads, including the use of a bidirectionally dispensing spool. Various locations of passages straight through the trimmer head and spool are shown along with various locations of components of the ratcheting mechanism to allow for winding of the trimmer line on the trimmer head and for limiting the amount of line dispensed during “bumping” of the trimmer head knob on the ground. Additionally, an extended funnel into the passage can be provided to facilitate entrance of trimmer line into the funnel even when the line is not perfectly straight. Also, spokes can be used in place of the flanges of the spool to save material and cost, while still providing a guide and barrier between the line store areas.
LINE-TYPE GRASS CUTTING HEAD WITH CUTTING BLADE
The grass cutting head (1), configured for rotation around a rotation axis, comprises a housing (3) for a cutting line (F); a space (5) inside the housing for winding a stock of cutting line; at least one hole (3B) in a side wall (3A) of the housing (3), through which the cutting line (F) passes from the inner space (5) towards the outside of the housing; At least one cutting blade (21) with at least one cutting edge (23) is associated with the housing (3) of the grass cutting head (1).
Lawnmower String Line Adapter Blade Device
The present invention relates to a lawnmower string line adapter blade device primarily comprised of a body further comprised of a top surface, a bottom surface, at least one central fastener opening, at least one central string opening, at least one perimeter string opening, and at least one string. In the preferred embodiment, the body is generally circular in shape and can be attached via at least one fastener that is placed through a central fastener opening to the blade mounting area of a lawnmower. The central string openings and perimeter string openings further surround the central fastener opening in a radial fashion such that the string can be woven through the central string openings and the perimeter string openings to be secured to the body. In the preferred embodiment, a plurality of separate nylon strings are woven through the openings to create quasi-blades.
