Methods and apparatus to determine an audience composition based on voice recognition
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a controller to cause a people meter to emit a prompt for input of audience identification information at a first time and determine a first audience count based on the input, an audio detector to determine a second audience count based on signatures generated from audio data captured in the media environment, and a comparator to cause the people meter to not emit the prompt for at least a first time period after the first time when the first audience count is equal to the second audience count.
Customizing search results in a multi-content source environment
Described herein are various embodiments for customizing search results in a multi-content source environment. An embodiment operates by receiving input corresponding to a search from a user and retrieving a content history indicating which content was previously viewed by the user. It is determined that the content of the content history is organized into one or more preconfigured categories. A new category of content is generated based on the content history for the user. The content of the content history for user is arranged based on both the new category and at least a subset of the one or more preconfigured categories. The arranged content is displayed in a manner customized to the user.

Handheld electronic devices are provided that have remote control functionality and gesture recognition features. The handheld electronic device may have remote control functionality in addition to cellular telephone, music player, or handheld computer functionality. The handheld electronic devices may have a touch sensitive display screen. The handheld electronic devices may recognize gestures performed by a user on the touch sensitive display screen. The handheld electronic devices may generate remote control signals from gestures that the handheld electronic device may recognize. A media system may receive the remote control signals and may take appropriate action. The touch sensitive display screen may be used to present the user with information about the media system such as the current volume.

Handheld electronic devices are provided that have remote control functionality and gesture recognition features. A portable device controlling playback of video data on a first device external to the portable device and including a browser module operative to present a display of a plurality of images, each image corresponding to a section of the video data, and to highlight an image corresponding to the section of the video data currently played back by the first device, a communication module coupled to the browser module and operative, in response to a selection of an image among the plurality of images by a user, to transmit a first command to the first device to play back the video data corresponding to the image selected by the user, wherein the browser module is further operative to adapt highlighting of the plurality of images in response to a second command received from said first device upon a change of the section of video data currently played back on the first device.
Tracking User Interaction from a Receiving Device
Measuring and tracking user interaction with a television receiver, such as a set top box or cable box. The television receiver may create and display a matrix code that includes temporal information, user identification information, geographic information, and/or a user selection. The matrix code may be captured by a matrix reading device and transmitted to a monitoring entity. Optionally, the matrix reading device may decode the matrix code and transmit associated data to the monitoring entity. The monitoring entity may use the code or data to track and distinguish between user interactions at different points in time.

DEVICE CONTROL METHOD AND SYSTEM THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a device control method, which comprises capturing, by a portable device, a first image of a specific area containing a number of electronic devices connected to a communication network; transmitting a connection signal to a selected electronic device on a device list containing all the electronic devices connected to a communication network; determining whether the selected electronic device is in the first image captured based on whether a response has been received from the selected electronic device; identifying the selected electronic device on the device list and the relative position of the selected electronic device on the first image captured upon determined that the selected electronic device is in the first image; and continuing the device identification process until all the connected electronic devices on the device list has been verified, to identify the relative positions of all electronic devices contained in the first image.
