PROGRAM PLAYING METHOD AND APPARATUS
In the field of communications technologies, disclosed are a program playing method and apparatus, to resolve problems of relatively high costs of an internet protocol television (IPTV) operator and relatively high costs for subscribing to and maintaining an IPTV service by a user. In the method, a communications device receives a program playing request message sent by using a first transmission protocol. The communications device determines a corresponding target program channel based on a media file identifier included in the program playing request message, and may send a data stream request message to an IPTV platform by using a second transmission protocol. The communications device may send, by using the first transmission protocol, a received data stream to a playing device for play.

Providing streaming video from mobile computing nodes
Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for providing streaming video from mobile computing nodes. A request for streaming video captured by a mobile computing node can be received at a computer including a processor that executes a controller. The request can include a parameter associated with the streaming video. The computer can initiate transmission of an inquiry message to two or more mobile computing nodes and receive inquiry message responses from the mobile computing nodes that include the mobile computing node. The inquiry message responses can indicate that the mobile computing nodes can satisfy the parameter. The computer can create a list of the mobile computing nodes that can satisfy the parameter and provide the list to the requestor. The computer can receive a selection of the mobile computing node, and initiate delivery of a video stream to the requestor.

VIDEO RECORDING AND PLAYBACK SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method of video recording comprises the steps of: rendering a field of view of a virtual environment for a first user of a head mounted display at a first resolution, rendering a view of the virtual environment outside the field of view of the first user at a second lower resolution than the first resolution, outputting the rendered field of view for display to the first user, and recording the combined render as a video for subsequent viewing by a second user; meanwhile a corresponding method of video playback comprises requesting to download or stream the video from a remote source, receiving the download or stream of the video from the remote source, and outputting at least part of the stream or video for display to a second user wearing a head mounted display, wherein the step of outputting the stream of video comprises detecting the field of view of the second user wearing the head mounted display, and providing the corresponding portion of the recorded stream or video for output to the head mounted display of the second user.

Systems and Methods for Alternative Adverts
A method of providing digital content is disclosed. A request to view and interact with the digital content is received from a user. In response to the request, it is determined whether the user has advert-free rights to view and interact with the digital content. In response to determining that the user does not have the advert-free rights to view and interact with the digital content, the user is provided with an alternative advert (AA) query that includes AA query items. The AA query items include at least one preselected AA query item, where the preselected AA query item is enabled or not enabled to be unselected by the user. In response to determining that an AA query response to the AA query was received from the user within a predefined time period, the requested digital content is provided to a user device of the user without adverts.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADDRESSING A CORRUPTED SEGMENT IN A MEDIA ASSET
Systems and methods for addressing a corrupted segment in a media asset. The media guidance application determines that a segment of a media asset is corrupted. The media guidance application determines whether a retrieval period to retrieve an uncorrupted copy of the segment exceeds a threshold period. If the retrieval period does not exceed the threshold period, the media guidance application retrieves and generates for display the uncorrupted copy of the segment. If the retrieval period exceeds the threshold period, the media guidance application determines whether an importance level of the corrupted segment exceeds a threshold level. If the importance level exceeds the threshold level, the media guidance application generates for display a summary for the corrupted segment. If the importance level does not exceed the threshold level, the media guidance application generates for display the subsequent segment and the summary for the corrupted segment in an overlay.
