BROADCAST MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A broadcast management system creates, manages, and streams a broadcast of an event from videos captured from multiple cameras. A video capture system comprising multiple cameras captures videos of the event and transmits the videos to a broadcast management server. The broadcast management server generates a website or other graphical interface that simultaneously displays the captured videos in a time-synchronized manner. A broadcast manager user creates a broadcast by selecting which video to output to the broadcast at any given time. A broadcast map is stored for each broadcast that includes all of the broadcast decisions made by the broadcast manager user such that the broadcast can be recreated at a later time by applying the broadcast map to the raw videos. Using a viewer client, viewers can browse or search for broadcasts and select a broadcast for viewing.
AUDIO TIME SYNCHRONIZATION USING PRIORITIZED SCHEDULE
A method is provided for synchronizing playback of audio an/or video by a plurality of separate devices in a computer network, e.g. in a wi-fi network. Each separate device is programmed to select a synchronization mechanism in accordance with a predetermined prioritized list of at least two different synchronization mechanisms, and to use the selected synchronization mechanism for synchronizing audio and/or video playback. E.g. use of a clock based on the audio codec clock can be set to a higher priority than use of the system clock, which provides a poorer precision. A session leader serves to provide the synchronization to other separate devices in a session, however a group of two or more separate devices within the session may agree on selecting a synchronization mechanism providing a higher precision than the one provided by the session leader. E.g. to allow high precision timing between separate left and right loudspeakers in a stereo setup. A group leader can be elected to provide synchronization to a group of devices using a higher synchronization precision than the synchronization mechanism provided by the overall session leader. E.g. a dedicated synchronization channel separate from the audio/video streaming channel may be selected.
Systems and methods for adjusting buffer size
Methods and systems are provided for adjusting a size of a buffer based on a probability that a rewind request will be received during a currently playing segment of media. When the system determines that receiving a rewind request is likely, the system will increase the size of a buffer such that the rewind request can be accommodated using data from the buffer. When the system determines that receiving a rewind request is unlikely, the system will decrease the size of the buffer to free resources for other system components.
System and methods for facile, instant, and minimally disruptive playback of media files
Provided herein are novel systems and methods of digital content delivery designed to be easy, instant, and minimally disruptive for the user. The novel systems and methods of the invention can provide the device user with an instant and ephemeral snippet of entertaining media, in a metered presentation controlled by the user. The system is minimally disruptive in that the user can summon a video clip or other media content with a simple input, whereupon a clip is instantly played for the user. Upon reaching the end of the media presentation, the media player window self-closes and returns the user's device to the exact state it was in prior. In this way, a user can enjoy a short, entertaining pause without substantially interrupting their previous activity on the device.

METHODS AND APPARATUS TO IDENTIFY AND CREDIT MEDIA USING RATIOS OF MEDIA CHARACTERISTICS
Apparatus, systems, articles of manufacture, and methods to identify and credit media using ratios of media characteristics are disclosed herein. Example apparatus to identify media include at least one memory, instructions, and at least one processor to execute the instructions to: determine a first ratio based on a first time interval and a second time interval of a monitored media signal; determine a second ratio based on the second time interval and a third time interval of the monitored media signal; generate a first ratio signature based on the first and second ratios; and initiate transmission of the first ratio signature to a recipient that is to compare the first signature with a second ratio signature to identify the media.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR IMPROVING DIALOGUE INTELLIGIBILITY DURING PLAYBACK OF AUDIO DATA
Described herein is a method for improving dialogue intelligibility during playback of audio data on a playback device, wherein the audio data comprise dialogue audio data, and at least one of music and effects audio data, the method including the steps of: determining a volume mixing ratio based on a volume value for playback; mixing the dialogue audio data and the at least one of music and effects audio data based on said volume mixing ratio; and outputting the mixed audio data for playback. Described are further a respective playback device and a respective computer program product.

MIXED REALITY VIRTUAL REVERBERATION
A method of presenting an audio signal to a user of a mixed reality environment is disclosed, the method comprising the steps of detecting a first audio signal in the mixed reality environment, where the first audio signal is a real audio signal; identifying a virtual object intersected by the first audio signal in the mixed reality environment; identifying a listener coordinate associated with the user; determining, using the virtual object and the listener coordinate, a transfer function; applying the transfer function to the first audio signal to produce a second audio signal; and presenting, to the user, the second audio signal.
