Reflective video display apparatus for interactive training and demonstration and methods of using same
A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.

Methods and apparatus to determine synthetic respondent level data using constrained Markov chains
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to generate synthetic respondent level data. Example apparatus disclosed herein include means for generating a synthetic panel corresponding to a duration of time, the means for generating the synthetic panel to: generate a transition matrix corresponding to a first sub-duration of the duration of time and a second sub-duration of the duration of time; generate, based on the transition matrix, a plurality of synthetic panelists and associated viewing data; remove first ones of the synthetic panelists associated with one or more weights that do not satisfy a threshold to generate the synthetic panel corresponding to the duration of time, the synthetic panel representative of audiences of media presented by a plurality of media devices during the duration of time; and generate synthetic respondent level data based on the viewing data associated with remaining second ones of the synthetic panelists.
Composite video competition
A method may include serially joining different video clips from videos of different historical competitions to form a composite video competition, the different video clips comprising an indeterminate subset of clips drawn from a larger pool of clips, wherein each clip from a historical competition has an associated partial result contribution to a final result of the historical competition further include presenting a result during the composite video competition, the result comprising a linked combination of the partial result contributions from the different video clips.
Methods and apparatus to identify media based on watermarks across different audio streams and/or different watermarking techniques
Example apparatus disclosed herein are to detect a first watermark embedded in an audio stream associated with media, the first watermark embedded and detected based on a first watermarking technique; and detect a second watermark embedded in the audio stream, the second watermark embedded and detected based on a second watermarking technique. Disclosed example apparatus are also to assign the first watermark to a first monitoring track and to a second monitoring track, the first monitoring track limited to watermarks embedded in the audio stream based on the first watermarking technique, the second monitoring track limited to watermarks embedded in the audio stream based on any of the first or second watermarking techniques; group the first and second watermarks to form a media detection event when the second watermark is assigned to the second monitoring track; and cause transmission of the media detection event to a data collection facility.
METHOD, DEVICE, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR IMPROVING ENCAPSULATION OF MEDIA CONTENT
According to embodiments, the invention provides a method for encapsulating partitioned timed media data comprising timed samples, comprising in turn subsamples, the timed samples being grouped into groups, the method comprising: obtaining spatial tracks, each spatial track comprising at least one subsample of a first timed sample and one corresponding subsample of the other timed samples, the corresponding subsamples being located at the same spatial position in its own timed sample as the at least one subsample; creating a base track referencing at least some of the spatial tracks, the base track comprising reconstruction instructions, each of the reconstruction instructions being associated with a group of timed samples, enabling generating a portion of a bit-stream from sub-samples of spatial tracks, that belong to a same group of timed samples; and independently encapsulating each of the tracks in a least one media file.
METHOD FOR SIGNALLING A SUBSTITUTION TO A TERMINAL, METHOD FOR SUBSTITUTION BY A TERMINAL, AND CORRESPONDING COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS, SYSTEM AND TERMINAL
A method for signalling, to a terminal, substitution of an item of content, broadcast via a broadcast network to which the terminal is connected, with a substitute item of content. Such a method includes: obtaining a substitute information packet including time information indicating a time of execution, by the terminal, of an action for substituting the broadcast item of content with the substitute item of content, wherein the time information corresponds to a date of rendering of an image of the broadcast item of content with reference to a reference clock embedded in the broadcast item of content; generating an event notification message including the time information; and inserting the event notification message into a data flow conveying the item of content broadcast within the broadcast network.
SYSTEM FOR MANAGING A VIRTUAL MEETING
A system for managing a virtual meeting (e.g., video conference) includes memory storing a video conference application and at least one processor to execute the video conference application to generate a virtual meeting view for a first attendee including multiple attendee video streams arranged according to a virtual attendee arrangement specifying positions of the attendee video streams relative to each other in the virtual meeting view, receive second attendee audio data associated with a second attendee video stream, identify a particular video stream position specified by the virtual attendee arrangement, determine differential stereo effect data corresponding with the particular video stream position, and apply the differential stereo effect data to the second attendee audio data to provide differential audio signals on different audio channels output to the first attendee to create a stereo sound effect corresponding with the particular video stream position.
Wireless Streaming of Audio/Visual Content in a Home Theater Architecture
Disclosed herein are computing devices, including playback devices, that are configured to operate in several media distribution modes and play back audio data in several playback modes based at least in part on the source of audio/video data for playback.
AUTOMATED NARRATIVE PRODUCTION SYSTEM AND SCRIPT PRODUCTION METHOD WITH REAL-TIME INTERACTIVE CHARACTERS
A script production method and a show production system, in which a user has a script seed input that the user wishes to be the starting narrative or starting point for a video. In an example, the script production method includes: receiving the script seed input; generating, using the script seed input and a script writer module: a script which continues the narrative; generating, using the script and a script analysis module: respective segment metadata for the script; and generating, using the script, the respective segment metadata and one or more rendering modules: one or more video segments. An interface screen on a device can be used to add, edit, delete, or approve proposed script segments of the script in real-time after the video segments are generated, in which those approved proposed script segment are also generated into video segments which further continue the narrative.
