An electronic device and an operating method thereof. The electronic device includes a receiver for connection to a source device, a memory storing one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to detect a first resolution of an input image received from the source device, determine whether to modify extended display identification data (EDID) of the electronic device, based on whether the detected first resolution corresponds to the EDID, upon determining that the EDID is to be modified, modify the EDID, and receive, from the source device, an input image of a second resolution, generated based on the modified EDID.

Voice command integration for local network connected devices

Various arrangements for facilitating smart television content receivers in a local network are provided. A primary television receiver executing a first operating system can receive audio data including human voice from a voice enabled remote control. The primary television receiver can transmit the audio data to a secondary television receiver executing a second operating system and that includes a voice command component. The secondary television receiver can convert the audio data into voice command data and transmit the voice command data to the primary television receiver. The primary television receiver can transmit the voice command data to a voice processing server via the Internet and receive, in response, a command generated based on the voice command data. The primary television receiver can transmit the command to the secondary television receiver. The voice command component can then control an operation of the secondary television receiver based on the command.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROGRAMMATIC QUALITY CONTROL OF CONTENT

Systems and methods for controlling quality of content are provided. Programmatic ad buying may facilitate and expedite ad buying via an automated process. However, quality control via a conventional ad buying process is done with manual intervention. A confidence tool may request, from a programmatic content library of a content provider, to analyze a content tag associated with programmatic content. The confidence tool may determine whether the content tag meets confidence criteria (e.g., specifications of a content presentation service). The confidence tool may notify the content provider of whether the content tag meets the confidence criteria. Based on this notification, the content provider may approve the content to be run or reject the content to prevent problematic content from running on the content presentation service.

A system includes a computing platform having processing hardware and a memory storing software code, a workstation database, and a station database. When executed, the software code receives workflow data describing a workflow for a station, obtains from the station database, using the workflow data, a configuration data for execution of the workflow by the station, and identifies, using the configuration data, multiple application programming interfaces (APIs). The software code further identifies, using the workstation database, a workstation for use by the station to execute the workflow, configures, using the configuration data, the workstation for execution of the workflow, and translates, during execution of the workflow, communications among the station and the multiple APIs into a common communication protocol.

Decryption and variant processing

A plurality of byte ranges forms a sample for content output from a player device, and includes at least one double-encrypted byte range. The plurality of byte ranges is stored in a secured memory, and the at least one double-encrypted byte range is partially decrypted to generate at least one decrypted singe-encrypted byte range. The plurality of byte ranges is stored in an unsecured memory using the at least one decrypted single-encrypted byte range in place of the at least one double-encrypted byte range.

Automatic-standby method

A method for automatically putting on standby an audio/video decoding system, including: obtaining information representing a program currently being broadcast by the system, referred to as the target program; performing a search for programs similar to the target program in accordance with at least one similarity criterion predefined in a database of information representing programs previously broadcast by the system, the broadcasting having been interrupted by a standby; determining a duration-of-inactivity threshold according to the number of programs similar to the target program; sending a notification intended for a user advising him of the imminent standby of the system if no interaction is noted between the user and system during a period equal to the duration-of-inactivity threshold determined after the end of the target program; and putting the system on standby if no interaction is noted between the user and system during a predefined period after sending of the notification.

Display-based audio splitting in media environments
11474776 · 2022-10-18 · ·

A mechanism is described for facilitating display-based audio splitting in media environments, according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes receiving, at a computing device, a request to split audio streams associated with audio channels in communication with the computing device serving as a host device, wherein the audio streams are generated by one or more applications; selecting a split mode to facilitate splitting of the audio streams; and splitting the audio streams based on the split mode such that the audio streams are continuously mapped to the audio channels to adjust for delays and fine tuning.

Notification for account management

A server operated by a service provider may enable a user to upgrade and/or purchase one or more service plans associated with a user account and provided by the service provider. The service plan may include access to one or more third-party services that provide content accessible via applications. The service provider may inform a notification service that operates a device management platform that the user account is permitted access to the content provider. The notification service may send a message to the user device including an indication that the user device now has access to the content provider and/or a selectable option to install an application associated with the content provider.

MULTI-INTERFACE STREAMING MEDIA SYSTEM

A streaming media device includes a printed circuit board hosting components configured to access internet data. An audio/visual connector is linked to the printed circuit board, wherein the audio/visual connector is adapted for connection to an audio/visual device, wherein the audio/visual connector is adapted to operate with a first audio/visual interface having sufficient power to fully operate the printed circuit board and a second audio/visual interface having insufficient power to fully operate the printed circuit board. A power connector is linked to the printed circuit board, wherein the power connector selectively receives power based on the audio/visual connector utilizing one of the first audio/visual interface and the second audio/visual interface.
