SYSTEM AND METHOD OF SPONSORING STREAMING FUNDING
A system and method of sponsoring streaming funding is proposed. The system of sponsoring the streaming funding includes a streamer terminal configured to activate a funding function, generate streaming content, and transmit the streaming content to a streaming server; a sponsor terminal configured to transmit a funding amount for sponsoring a streamer to a sponsorship server; and the sponsorship server configured to display, on a streamer's broadcast screen, a sponsorship widget including at least one of a funding target amount, a target time period, and a funding sponsorship amount, when the funding function is activated by the streamer terminal, update the funding sponsorship amount on the sponsorship widget whenever a sponsorship event occurs, and provide the funding sponsorship amount to the streamer when the funding sponsorship amount reaches the funding target amount within the target time period.

MASKING BRANDS AND BUSINESSES IN CONTENT
Systems and methods are presented herein for selectively preventing display of brand and business identifiers in content that is considered offensive, objectionable, disturbing, and/or unsettling, to prevent an unintended association by viewers of the content between the content and the brand or business. A request to display media content, comprising at least one frame with objectionable subject matter, is received. In response to determining the at least one frame comprises objectionable subject matter, a determination is made as to whether an entity identifier is visible in the at least one frame. In response to determining at least one entity identifier is visible in the at least one frame, a first context of the objectionable subject matter and a second context of the entity identifier are determined. The first context is compared to the second context and, based on the comparing, a masking action is determined to be required for the entity identifier.
Method and apparatus for secure transfer and playback of multimedia content
A method and apparatus for secure transfer and playback of multimedia content enables the secure transfer of multimedia content from a digital video recorder (DVR) to a personal computer (PC) and further to a handheld device. A DVR determines which devices on a Local Area Network (LAN) are authorized to share and/or retrieve content from the DVR. The DVR receives a connection request from a PC on the LAN, authorizes the connection request and establishes a secure connection between the DVR and the PC. Once the secure connection is established, the DVR receives a request for multimedia content from the PC, prepares the multimedia content for transfer and transfers the multimedia content to the PC.

Systems and methods for providing media based on a detected language being spoken
Various embodiments provide media based on a detected language being spoken. In one embodiment, the system electronically detects which language of a plurality of languages is being spoken by a user, such during a conversation or while giving a voice command to the television. Based on which language of a plurality of languages is being spoken by the user, the system electronically presents media to the user that is in the detected language. For example, the media may be television channels and/or programs that are in the detected language and/or a program guide, such as a pop-up menu, including such media that are in the detected language.

SYNCHRONIZING FILTER METADATA WITH A MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION
A method, system and apparatus for applying and synchronizing filter information with a multimedia presentation, such as a movie provided in a video-on-demand context, to suppress objectionable content. In one example, filter information, which includes an indicia of a portion of the multimedia presentation including objectionable content and a type of suppression action, is provided on either a set-top-box or a video-on-demand server. A user selects a particular video-on-demand presentation, and the selection is transmitted to the set-top-box. Additionally, whether in a video-on-demand, DVD, or other environment it may be necessary to synchronize filter with the multimedia content so that the proper objectionable content is suppressed.
AUTOMATED CONTENT IDENTIFICATION FOR BINGE WATCHING OF DIGITAL MEDIA
“Binge watching” of multiple episodes of a program is improved by the player device automatically skipping repeated portions of the program. Opening and closing credit scenes, for example, can be automatically skipped to thereby allow the viewer to progress through the entire season of programming at an even faster rate than was previously thought possible. Programming to be skipped may be identified by detecting audio or other digital fingerprints in the content itself, for example. Content to be skipped may be identified to the playback device according to presentation time stamp (PTS) or other time markers.
