PASSIVE ENTRY ADAPTER SYSTEM FOR A CATV NETWORK
A passive entry adapter system includes an external band rejection filter connected to an external network; an entry adapter connected to the external band rejection filter, an input port connecting the entry adapter to the external network; a directional coupler connected to the input port; a frequency-based signal separation device connected to a first terminal and comprising a high-pass terminal, and a low-pass terminal; a splitter connected to the high-pass terminal, where the splitter is configured to be connected to one or more first types of devices; and a broadband output port connected to a second terminal of the directional coupler. The broadband output is configured to be connected to one or more second types of devices. The entry adapter and the external band rejection filter are configured to prevent signals from a frequency band associated with in-network communications produced within an internal network from reaching the external network.
Data processing device and data processing method
A data processing method is provided in which a transmission frame is received from a transmitting device. The transmission frame is based on a split stream for one of a plurality of channels and channel bonding signaling information. Further, the received transmission frame is processed. The channel bonding signaling information includes signature information that uniquely identifies the input stream, and the signature information is contained in a header of the transmission frame of a plurality of channels and transmits the split streams, for example.
BROADCAST RECEPTION APPARATUS AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF
A broadcast receiving apparatus and an operating method thereof. The broadcast receiving apparatus includes a receiver for wirelessly receiving a broadcast signal; an external device interface unit for performing short-range communication; and a controller. The controller determines how various frequency bands are to be used.
Frame conversion for adaptive streaming alignment
Methods for generating an AV bitstream (e.g., an MPEG-2 transport stream or bitstream segment having adaptive streaming format) such that the AV bitstream includes at least one video I-frame synchronized with at least one audio I-frame, e.g., including by re-authoring at least one video or audio frame (as a re-authored I-frame or a re-authored P-frame). Typically, a segment of content of the AV bitstream which includes the re-authored frame starts with an I-frame and includes at least one subsequent P-frame. Other aspects are methods for adapting such an AV bitstream, audio/video processing units configured to perform any embodiment of the inventive method, and audio/video processing units which include a buffer memory which stores at least one segment of an AV bitstream generated in accordance with any embodiment of the inventive method.
ARRANGEMENT FOR ADJUSTING FREQUENCY RESPONSE
A network element of a cable television (CATV) network, comprising at least a first and a second downstream amplifier stage; a first signal path comprising a first equalizer and a second signal path comprising a second equalizer between the first and the second amplifier stage; a switch configured to connect the first equalizer or the second equalizer to be used between the first and the second amplifier stage; a sampling circuit configured to provide a first sampling signal associated with the first signal path and a second sampling signal associated with the second signal path from an output of the second amplifier stage; and a control unit configured to control the switch to connect the first signal path or the second signal path to be used between the first and the second amplifier stage based on said first and second sampling signals.
Optical data interconnect system
A system for optical data interconnect of a source and a sink includes a first HDMI compatible electrical connector able to receive electrical signals from the source. A first signal converter is connected to the first HDMI compatible electrical connector and includes electronics for conversion of TMDS or FRL electrical signals to optical signals, with the electronics including an optical conversion device connectable to source ground to reduce noise. At least one optical fiber is connected to the first signal converter. A second signal converter is connected to the at least one optical fiber and includes electronics for conversion of optical signals to TMDS or FRL electrical signals. A power module for the second signal converter provides power to an electrical signal amplifier connectable to sink ground. A second HDMI compatible electrical connector is connected to the second signal converter and able to send signals to the sink.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING HOSPITALITY DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS
A system includes a host device to provide a content signal, an end device to receive the content signal, and a branch of amplifiers connected between the host device and the end device to carry the content signal from the host device to the end device. The host device may receive a first signal from the branch of amplifiers connected to the end device, and extract, from the first signal, first characteristics of the content signal measured at one or more points in the branch of amplifiers. The host device may compare the first characteristics of the content signal to second characteristics. The host device may determine, based on the comparison, adjustments for one or more settings of a first amplifier of the amplifiers, and send a second signal to the branch of amplifiers to communicate the adjustments for the one or more settings to the first amplifier.
Data processing apparatus and data processing method
The present technique relates to a data processing apparatus and a data processing method each of which enables a burden imposed on processing on a reception side to be reduced. A data processing apparatus produces signaling containing a Null cell number exhibiting the number of Null cells of cells of a sub-frame included in a physical layer frame, and processes the signaling so as for the signaling to be contained in a preamble of the physical layer frame, thereby enabling a burden imposed on processing on a reception side to be reduced. The present technique, for example, can be applied to data transmission complying with the broadcasting standards such as ATSC3.0.
Broadcast signal transmitting/receiving device and method
A broadcast signal transmitting method is disclosed. The broadcast signal transmitting method comprises the steps of: processing at least one component of a broadcast service on the basis of a delivery protocol; generating service layer signaling (SLS) information including information on the component; generating service list table (SLT) information including bootstrap information for acquiring the SLS information; and generating a signal frame including a physical layer pipe (PLP) by performing a physical layer processing on the at least one component, the SLS information and the SLT information.
DOWNSTREAM MODEM CHANNEL ANALYSIS AND ALLOCATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A system and method for identifying a viable channel within an allocated downstream spectrum and establishing communication via a modem thereon. The disclosed technology provides for the broadband analysis of some or all of the available downstream spectrum to obtain a mapping of available channels and directing the modem to establish downstream communication upon at least one of these channels. The system includes an interface via which a user can specify parameters governing the analysis of the available downstream spectrum and the identification of a viable downstream channel.
