Methods and apparatus for integrating media across a wide area network
A system for distributing media includes a wide area network (WAN), a media player coupled to the WAN at a first home, and a media server coupled to the WAN at a second home for providing media. A service is coupled to the WAN for receiving a request for media from the media player and for establishing a connection between the first and second homes over the WAN. Media is streamed across the WAN from the second home to the first home. The system may include a storage device coupled to the media player where media is transferred across the WAN for storage at the storage device. A media device may be coupled to the media player for playing the streamed/transferred media where the media player and the media device may comprise a television, stereo, or computer and the media item may comprise video, photographs, or audio.
Peer to peer communications for repairing wireless multicast/broadcast delivered content
A method for repairing multicast/broadcast content via peer to peer communications, which includes receiving at least a part of a file transmitted by a wireless multicast/broadcast service (WMBS) session via an access ndownetwork; exchanging, via a peer to peer network, completion messages between the UE device and peer UE devices upon completion of the WMBS session; identifying an amount of the file received at the UE device, and amounts of the file received at each of peer UE devices based on the exchanged completion messages; sending repair data to repair the file on each peer UE devices in response to identifying that the UE device received the entire file; and sending repair data via the peer to peer network, obtained from the access network, in response to identifying that the UE device received less than the entire file and more of the file than each of the group of peer UE devices.
System and method of streaming content between peer devices in a broadcast environment
A system is provided for streaming broadcast media content between peer devices in a media distribution network. The system includes a virtual router panel that includes a notification service controller that receives a data communication request from two or more peer devices and a data communication handshaking controller selects a delivery protocol between the two devices based on exchanging communication candidates that identify peer addresses. A media streaming tunnel generator establishes a streaming tunnel between the first device and the second device based on the respective delivery protocol selected by the data communication handshaking controller; and an encoder packetizes video, audio and ancillary grains directly as packets of the broadcast media content to be streamed directly from the first device to the second device via the established streaming tunnel without multiplexing.
Marker based reporting system for hybrid content delivery network and peer to peer network
This document describes marker based approaches for a CDN to monitor and report on the amount of traffic that it is serving on behalf of content providers. They are particularly useful in hybrid delivery scenarios. Hybrid delivery scenarios means that a client may obtain content, such as a given multimedia stream, from one or more servers in the CDN, or from one or more peers in a peer to peer network. The amount of data served from the peer network is referred to herein as the “offload”, as delivery of that data has been offloaded from the CDN platform.
Crowd sourced cloud gaming using peer-to-peer streaming
A method, including: executing, by a cloud gaming machine, a session of a cloud video game, the session configured to generate gameplay video; streaming the gameplay video from the cloud gaming machine over a network to a primary user device; wherein the primary user device is configured to stream the gameplay video over a peer-to-peer network to one or more secondary user devices; receiving, over the network from the primary user device by the cloud gaming machine, primary inputs; receiving, over the network from the one or more secondary devices by the cloud gaming machine, secondary inputs; processing, by the cloud gaming machine, the primary inputs and the secondary inputs to generate aggregated inputs; wherein executing the session of the cloud video game includes applying the aggregated inputs to update a game state of the cloud video game that is processed to generate the gameplay video.
Media sharing and communication system
A media sharing and communication system, including a recording mechanism that records a desired portion of media upon activation by a first individual user, a first user transmitter/receiver that transmits the portion of media and a message generated by the first individual user regarding the portion of media to a second individual user and is capable of transmitting a message to a second individual user, a confirmation mechanism that confirms that the second individual user is authorized to view the portion of media, a notification mechanism that notifies the first individual user if the second individual user is not authorized to receive the portion of media, a second user transmitter/receiver that receives the portion of media and voice message upon authorization of the second individual user, a search mechanism, and a video recording mechanism, an online betting module, and an online food ordering module.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STREAMING MEDIA CONTENT DURING UNAVAILABILITY OF CONTENT SERVER
Systems and methods are described herein for streaming during unavailability of a content server. Upon determining that there are conditions indicating buffering issues during delivery of a media asset, a server determines a first group of devices suitable for receiving the media asset from the server and sharing the media asset on a peer-to-peer network. Then, the server determines a second group of devices suitable for receiving the media asset on a peer-to-peer network from a first group device. The server then determines groupings within which to share and receive the media asset. Next, the server transmits instructions to the devices in the first group to maintain in buffer and share certain portions of the media asset with the second group devices within their grouping. Finally, the server updates information detailing the media asset portions the devices are maintaining in buffer and sharing.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SEPARATE DELIVERY OF SEGMENTS OF CONTENT ITEMS
Systems and methods are described herein for transmitting a content item to a user device using multiple delivery protocols. The system receives, at a content source, a request for the content item from the user device. The system splits a digital stream of the content item into a first video signal and a second video signal. The system then transmits, via a unicast server, the first video signal for the content item to the user device, and transmits, via a multicast server, the second video signal for the content item to the user device. The system then causes for presentation on the user device the first video signal followed by the second video signal. In other embodiments, the system is optimized between the unicast delivery of a content item and a peer-to-peer delivery.
Resolving tuner conflicts at digital video recorder
Methods, systems, and computer readable media may be operable to facilitate the resolving of a tuner conflict at a digital video recorder. When a multimedia device receives a request for a new recording session, and there is no available tuner for carrying out the recording session, the multimedia device may determine a duration of time until a tuner becomes available. If the duration of time until a tuner becomes available is less than a threshold duration, the multimedia device may initiate the recording session once the tuner becomes available, and the missing portion of the recording may be recovered at an alternate time or from an alternate content source. When the missing portion is recovered, the recording and the missing portion may be stitched together. If the duration of time until a tuner becomes available is greater than a threshold, the multimedia device may present alternate times for recording the requested content.
Blockchain architecture, system, method and device for automated cybersecurity and data privacy law compliance with proprietary off-chain storage mechanism
A transaction platform including at least one or more public, public-private and/or private distributed ledgers or blockchains that together enable the secure effectuation and recordation of one or more transactions while maintaining transaction party confidentiality. The private distributed ledgers or blockchains are able to store, maintain and provide information about the parties related to the transactions which the distributed blockchains or databases are able to utilize in order to securely and quickly validate, execute and record the transactions in a manner that is GDPR and other data privacy law complaint.
