SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DYNAMICALLY ADAPTING NETWORK DELIVERY MODES OF CONTENT
A content distribution network includes a first server in communication with an anycast server that provides content via a unicast signal, and with a multicast server that provides the content via a multicast signal. The first server is configured to receive a list of source addresses associated with the content, and to provide a metadata file including an anycast Internet protocol address of the anycast server from the list of source addresses as an Internet protocol address of the content in response to a first request for the content. When the number of client devices requesting the content exceeds a first threshold, the first server receives an updated list of sources including a multicast Internet protocol address of a multicast server, and provides the multicast Internet protocol address of the multicast server as the Internet protocol address of the content in the metadata file.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TRANSMITTING VIDEO DATA OVER A NETWORK
Systems and methods for transmitting video data over a network are provided. The system comprises a camera configured to capture video data, and a hardware processor configured to receive a connection signal to establish a direct connection with a network connectivity provider. After receiving the connection signal, the hardware processor can establish a network socket with a target server via the network connectivity provider, receive network connectivity status information, and determine first parameters for capturing of video data and second parameters for generation of data packets representing the captured video data based on the network connectivity status information. The hardware processor can control, based on the first parameters, the camera to capture video data; generate, based on the second parameters, data packets representing the captured video data; and transmit the data packets to the target server using the network socket.
Blockchain architecture, system, method and device for automated cybersecurity and data privacy law compliance with proprietary off-chain storage mechanism
A transaction platform including at least one or more public, public-private and/or private distributed ledgers or blockchains that together enable the secure effectuation and recordation of one or more transactions while maintaining transaction party confidentiality. The private distributed ledgers or blockchains are able to store, maintain and provide information about the parties related to the transactions which the distributed blockchains or databases are able to utilize in order to securely and quickly validate, execute and record the transactions in a manner that is GDPR and other data privacy law complaint.
Personal content server apparatus and methods
Personal content server apparatus and associated methods that allow a user (e.g., cable or satellite network subscriber) to access content, such as a video program, from a location outside the subscriber's network. In one embodiment, a personal content server streams the content to the subscriber over a network connection from the local e.g., (subscription) network to a remote network upon authorization by a content manager process. Various access, business or operational rules are applied depending on the content and delivery mode; e.g., to live video broadcast, video-on-demand (VOD), or archived content from the subscriber's digital video recorder (DVR) or networked PVR. Secondary content (e.g., promotions, advertisements, etc.) can also be selectively replaced if desired in order to make the remotely delivered content more appropriate to the remote user's context.
System and a method for distributing content via static channel assignment in a mobile content gateway
A method for distributing video content to at least one mobile device (411-413) at a customer premises (140) system comprising a plurality of stationary devices (421-423) capable of receiving the video content from at least one content provider (160). The method comprises the steps of: receiving, at the stationary devices (421-423), requests to tune a tuner (512, 513) of the stationary device (421-423) to a requested channel received from the content provider (160); outputting the content, of the channel tuned to by at least one stationary device (421-423), to a mobile content gateway (414) at the customer premises (140) system; handling, at the mobile content gateway (414), a list of video channels (611) comprising data associating each channel of the list with a stationary device (421-423); sending, from the mobile content gateway (414), to the at least one stationary device (421-423) requests to tune to channels assigned according to the list of video channels (611); preparing at least one single-program stream from the content received from the at least one stationary device (421-423); outputting, from the mobile content gateway (414), the at least one single-program stream as at least one adaptive stream; and providing the at least one adaptive stream to the at least one mobile device (411-413) over a wireless data transmission interface.
Systems and Methods for Encoding and Sharing Content between Devices
Systems and methods for sharing content between devices are disclosed. To request a shared piece of media content, a playback device generates and sends a request to content server. The playback device includes information in the request that indicates the playback capabilities of the device. The content server receives the request and determines the playback capabilities of the playback device from the information in the request. The content server then determines the assets that may be used by the playback device to obtain the media content and generates a top level index file for the playback device that includes information about the determined assets. The top level index file is then sent to the playback device that may then use the top level index file to obtain the media content using the indicated assets.
TELEVISION RECEIVER PRIVACY CONTROL
Controlling or limiting visibility into particular metadata associated with the transfer of media content from a source device or system to a receiving device or system.
USER-DEFINED QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE (QOE) PRIORITIZATIONS
A method includes, at a media bridge configured to distribute a plurality of media streams among a plurality of client devices connected to the media bridge over a network during a real-time communication (RTC) instance, receiving a plurality of quality of experience (QoE) preferences from the plurality of client devices via the media bridge, the plurality of QoE preferences being transmitted as a real-time transport protocol (RTP) control protocol (RTCP) extension header of a transmitted data packet. The method also includes receiving a plurality of QoE metrics at the media bridge, and in response to a determination that a degradation in network conditions of the network has occurred, downgrading at least one of the plurality of media streams based on the plurality of QoE preferences.
Method and system for the distribution of synchronized video to an array of randomly positioned display devices acting as one aggregated display device
A system and method for sharing information amongst user display devices, such as cell phones, smart phones, tablet computers, or other devices with an electronically controllable screen or display, in a peer to peer (P2P) network, to display one image or video across the totality of all of the display devices, regardless of where the display devices are positioned or how they are oriented relative to each other, and a system and method for identifying the exact position and orientation of each display device.
Method of Broadcasting Contents by Streaming in a Peer-to-Peer Network
The present invention relates to a method of broadcasting a content by streaming in a peer-to-peer network (10) of client devices (11, 12, 13) which is connected to a content server (2), said content consisting of a sequence of segments stored on data storage means of the content server (2), each client device (11, 12, 13) comprising a buffer memory storing in a temporary manner at least one segment of said content, the method being characterized in that each client device (11, 12, 13) is associated with a level defining a minimal list of segments of the content that have to be stored by the buffer memory of the device (11, 12, 13), the method comprising steps of: (a) connection of a new client device (14) to the peer-to-peer network (10); (b) assignment of a level to the new client device (14) as a function of the number of client devices (11, 12, 13) associated with each level; (c) transmission to said new client device (14) from the server (2) of at least each segment of the content which is absent from the buffer memory of the new client device (14), which belongs to said list of segments of the content corresponding to the level assigned to the new client device (14).
