IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS, IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD, IMAGE CAPTURING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING PROGRAM
The image processing apparatus 104 includes a processor performing a noise reduction on at least part of an input image produced by image capturing using an image capturing system 101, 102, and an acquirer acquiring first information on an optical characteristic of the image capturing system. The optical characteristic indicates a factor that degrades information of an object space in the image capturing of the input image. A processor changes a process of the noise reduction depending on the first information.
Apparatus and method for baseline estimation in input signal data
An apparatus for baseline estimation in input signal data is configured to retrieve input signal data (I(x.sub.i)) and to subtract baseline estimation data (ƒ(x.sub.i)) from the input signal data (I(x.sub.i)) to compute output signal data. The apparatus is further configured to compute the baseline estimation data (ƒ(x.sub.i)) from a convolution using a discrete Green's function (G(x.sub.i)).

Image capturing system, image capturing apparatus, control method, and recording medium
In an image capturing system, an image capturing apparatus transmits information indicating set capturing conditions to an information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus obtains a recovery filter corresponding to predetermined capturing conditions based on the information, and transmits the recovery filter to the image capturing apparatus. Upon receiving the recovery filter corresponding to the predetermined capturing conditions from the information processing apparatus, the image capturing apparatus stores the filter in a storage device. Upon obtaining an image signal by capturing, the image capturing apparatus performs recovery processing by applying the received recovery filter to the image signal.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CAPTURING DIGITAL VIDEO
A method and apparatus for capturing digital video includes displaying a preview of a field of view of the imaging device in a user interface of the imaging device. A sequence of images is captured. A main subject and a background in the sequence of images is determined, wherein the main subject is different than the background. A sequence of modified images for use in a final video is obtained, wherein each modified image is obtained by combining two or more images of the sequence of images such that the main subject in the modified image is blur free and the background is blurred. The sequence of modified images is combined to obtain the final video, which is stored in a memory of the imaging device, and displayed in the user interface.
Image processing apparatus, image pickup apparatus, image processing method, and storage medium
An image processing apparatus includes a correction unit configured to correct first image data acquired via an image pickup optical system and to generate second image data using a filter generated based on a characteristic of the image pickup optical system, a decomposition unit configured to decompose each of the first image data and the second image data into a first frequency component and a second frequency component, a combination unit configured to combine the first frequency component of the first image data and the first frequency component of the second image data with each other, and a generation unit configured to generate third image data based on a frequency component including the first frequency component combined by the combination unit and the second frequency component of the second image data.
System and methods for calibration of an array camera
Systems and methods for calibrating an array camera are disclosed. Systems and methods for calibrating an array camera in accordance with embodiments of this invention include the detecting of defects in the imaging components of the array camera and determining whether the detected defects may be tolerated by image processing algorithms. The calibration process also determines translation information between imaging components in the array camera for use in merging the image data from the various imaging components during image processing. Furthermore, the calibration process may include a process to improve photometric uniformity in the imaging components.
Image capturing apparatus and method for controlling image capturing apparatus
An image capturing apparatus capable of executing autofocus by at least one of a phase difference detection method and a contrast detection method using an image signal obtained from a set focus detection region and from which an imaging optical system and a converter lens are detachable. The image capturing apparatus comprises: a conversion unit configured to convert aberration information indicating a spherical aberration of the imaging optical system based on a magnification and aberration information of the converter lens in a case where the converter lens is mounted; a calculation unit configured to calculate a correction value for correcting a difference between a result of the autofocus and a focus condition of a captured image; and a control unit configured to control a position of a focus lens based on the result of the autofocus that has been corrected using the correction value.
IMAGING DEVICE, IMAGING METHOD, AND IMAGE PROCESSING PROGRAM
The imaging device includes a multiple-property lens that includes a first area having a first property and a second area having a second property different from the first property, an image sensor in which a first light receiving element 25A and a second light receiving element 25B having a different opening size of a light receiving section from the first light receiving element 25A are two-dimensionally arranged, and a crosstalk removal processing unit that removes a crosstalk component from each of a first crosstalk image acquired from the first light receiving element 25A of the image sensor and a second crosstalk image acquired from the second light receiving element to generate a first image and a second image respectively having the first property and the second property of the multiple-property lens.
METHOD FOR MAINTAINING INVENTORY IN A STORE
A method for maintaining inventory within a store includes: accessing an image (e.g., a color image, depth image) depicting an inventory structure; detecting a slot region of the image depicting a slot; identifying a product type assigned to the slot; accessing a product dimension of the product type; defining a target region within the slot in the image based on the product dimension; defining a product region within the slot in the image based on the product dimension and the target region; defining a back-of-shelf plane intersecting the target region of the image; detecting a surface within the product region; and, in response to the surface intersecting the back-of-shelf plane, identifying the slot as empty and generating a prompt to restock the slot with product units of the product type.
