RETAIL PHOTO KIOSK ACCESS SYSTEM
Disclosed herein are embodiments for operating a retail photo kiosk and establishing a dedicated access for a remote mobile device to the photo kiosk. Certain embodiments of the photo kiosk incorporate anchored connector cables to connect remote mobile devices to the photo kiosk. According to one embodiment, the photo kiosk detects when a remote mobile device is connected to the kiosk via an anchored connector cable. Upon receiving user information, the photo kiosk generates and sends an access message comprising to the connected mobile device. Following the access message, the user may establish dedicated access to the photo kiosk through the mobile device, which allows the user to utilize and leverage photo processing features of the kiosk.
CONTROL METHOD
A method includes performing notification processing to, in a case where a communication between a communication apparatus and an information processing apparatus via an external apparatus is to be inexecutable, notify a user of at least one of a communication error as the cause of failure to perform communication between the communication apparatus and the information processing apparatus via the external apparatus, and or a method for solving the communication error.
Print system to which two information processing apparatuses are connected, information processing apparatus, control methods therefor, and storage media storing programs for executing these control methods
A print system that is capable of performing a network setting operation easily in a case where two information processing apparatuses are connected. A first network connects first and second information processing apparatuses to an external apparatus. A second network that connects the first and second information processing apparatuses to exchange information for print management. The second information processing apparatus displays a first setting screen on which a user inputs network configurations of the first and second information processing apparatuses for the first network, changes the network configuration of the second information processing apparatus for the first network into the network configuration input by the user, and transmits the network configuration input by the user to the first information processing apparatus through the second network. The first information processing apparatus changes the network configuration of the first information processing apparatus for the first network into the network configuration transmitted.
METHOD FOR DELETING DATA FILES IN AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device, such as a digital camera, includes a deletion mode whereby a camera/electronic device user can delete captured images or data files that have already been transferred in order to make room in the electronic device or digital camera memory for capturing further images. In one embodiment, a digital camera keeps track of which images have already been transferred to an external storage device and presents those to the user as potential images to be deleted. In another embodiment, the user is presented with a delete all transferred images which when selected deletes all the captured images that have already been transferred. In still another embodiment, deletion criteria are used to prioritize which images are deleted first.
Image forming apparatus forming images based on received image data, terminal device transmitting image data to the image forming apparatus, image forming system including image forming apparatus and terminal device, and non-transitory computer readable medium
A multifunction peripheral (100) is connected to a terminal device (200) via a communication link, receives image data transmitted from the terminal device (200) and forms an image based on the image data. Further, the multifunction peripheral (100) detects the state of connection of the communication link and thereby detects whether or not communication with the terminal device (200) is interrupted. If interruption of communication is detected while image data transmitted from the terminal device is being received, the multifunction peripheral suspends the unfinished state of reception of image data.
Information processing device, information processing system, and information processing method
An information processing device, an information processing system, and a method of processing an operation request to any one of a plurality of types of apparatuses connected to a network. The information processing device and the method include detecting the plurality of types of apparatuses connected to the network, receiving an operation request that does not depend on the type of the apparatus, directed to any one of the plurality of types of the apparatuses detected in the detecting, and causing the apparatus to execute processing corresponding to the operation request via an interface corresponding to each type of apparatus. The information processing system includes the plurality of types of apparatuses and the information processing device connected to the apparatuses via the network.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM WITH SWITCHABLE CONNECTION INTERFACES
An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit configured to form an image on a print medium based on print data supplied from an information processing apparatus; a first communication interface configured to perform wireless communication with the information processing apparatus by a first communication method in which the number of connectable apparatuses is set; a second communication interface configured to perform wireless communication with the information processing apparatus by a second communication method; and a system controller. The system controller is configured to cause the second communication interface to transmit a notification to the information processing apparatus when the number of apparatuses which are connected by the first communication interface has reached the number of connectable apparatuses, the notification representing that the number of apparatuses which are connected by the first communication interface has reached the number of connectable apparatuses.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS, COMMUNICATION TERMINAL, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM STORING INSTRUCTIONS EXECUTABLE BY INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
An information processing apparatus and a communication terminal can carry out first wireless communication and second wireless communication. The first wireless communication is established when a distance between the information processing apparatus and the communication terminal is equal to or less than a first distance. The information processing apparatus determines whether data communication is to be carried out over the first wireless communication or the second wireless communication. When the data communication is to be carried out over the first wireless communication, the information processing apparatus carries out the data communication over the first wireless communication. When the data communication is to be carried out over the second wireless communication, the information processing apparatus carries out data communication of first setting information with the communication terminal over the first wireless communication to establish the second wireless communication and carries out data communication over the second wireless communication.
Mobile terminal and method of controlling mobile terminal
A mobile terminal, which has acquired communication information from an external device, using proximity wireless communication attempts connection to the external device based on the acquired communication information. If the connection attempt to the external device fails, the mobile terminal determines whether to display a message prompting a user to use a direct connection function of the external device while displaying a message notifying failure of the connection attempt.
