An information processing apparatus, connectable with an image output apparatus, includes circuitry to receive image data of an image from a memory, acquire information of an image placement region of the image output apparatus, the image placement region being variable depending on a type of the image output apparatus, and the image is to be output on the image placement region of the image output apparatus, generate an output image by placing the image within the image placement region based on the image data of the image to be output, and the image placement region of the image output apparatus, and transmit the generated output image to the image output apparatus.

An electronic apparatus includes a storage device, an image reading device, and a controller. The controller detects, from a text included in an image of a document read by the image reading device, a first prescribed word, extracts a text portion of a predetermined length continuous before or after the first prescribed word detected, calculates, by keyword groups stored in the storage device, a number representing matching between the keyword belonging to a keyword group and a character string included in the text portion extracted, reads out from the storage device an address associated with the keyword group having a largest number in the number representing the matching, and creates an e-mail a destination address of which is the address read out.

An information processing device includes a retaining unit and an image display. The retaining unit retains image-formation-related information of an image forming apparatus that forms an image. The image display causes a display section of a portable terminal having the display section and an image capturing section to display an image for assisting with an operation of the image forming apparatus based on a captured image result of the image capturing section and the image-formation-related information retained in the retaining unit.

This invention has as its object to avoid occurrence of garble even when an e-mail message to be created includes text information described in character codes of different kinds of language. To achieve this object, a communication apparatus according to this invention includes an input unit which inputs image information, a recognition unit which extracts text information included in the image information input by the input unit, and recognizing a type of character code of the extracted text information, an embedding unit which embeds the extracted text information in a text of e-mail using character codes of the type recognized by the recognition unit, and describing the recognized type (510, 516) of character code and an identifier (509, 515, 526) indicating a description range of the extracted text information in the text of e-mail, and a sending unit which sends e-mail data embedded by the embedding unit.

An information processing device includes a retaining unit and an image display. The retaining unit retains image-formation-related information of an image forming apparatus that forms an image. The image display causes a display section of a portable terminal having the display section and an image capturing section to display an image for assisting with an operation of the image forming apparatus based on a captured image result of the image capturing section and the image-formation-related information retained in the retaining unit.

A mobile terminal transmits a document file to a conversion server. In a case where it is determined that an image forming apparatus is capable of acquiring from the conversion server print data acquired by converting the document file, information for acquisition of the print data from the conversion server by the image forming apparatus is transmitted to the image forming apparatus. An image reading device includes a shooting unit, a light source unit, a shooting controller, and a combining unit. The light source unit sequentially irradiates the bound document with light from first and second irradiation positions opposing each other with respect to a first straight line orthogonal to a direction of a binding portion of the document. The shooting controller controls the shooting unit to shoot a first region positioned at the second irradiation position side on the document when the light source unit irradiates the document with light from the first irradiation position, and controls the shooting unit to shoot a second region containing a region other than the first region on the document when the light source unit irradiates the document with light from the second irradiation position. The combining unit combines a shot image of the first region and a shot image of the second region.

An image processing system includes an image scanner that scans an image on a document into image data, a destination accepting unit that accepts selection of a destination that the image data is transferred by a first user, the destination at least corresponding to a user other than the first user selecting the destination, a blank page detector that detects a blank page in the image data, an image data processor that removes the detected blank page from the image data to generate blank page removed data and blank page data of the detected blank page, a specification unit that specifies a first destination of the first user, and a transmitter that transfers the blank page removed data to the destination corresponding to the user other than the first user and transfers the blank page removed data and the blank page data to the first destination of the first user.
