SCANNING DEVICE
A scanning device includes a base, an upper cover pivotally covered to the base, a motor mounted to the base, two roller assemblies, a sensor mounted in the first channel, and a card supporting mechanism. A first channel, a scanning channel and a second channel are formed between the upper cover and the base. The scanning channel has a scanning read line. The first channel, the scanning channel and the second channel are communicated with one another. The two roller assemblies are connected with and driven by the motor. The card supporting mechanism is mounted to the base. The card supporting mechanism includes a blocking board movably disposed behind the second channel along the longitudinal direction, and a front surface of the blocking board is parallel to the scanning read line and orthogonal to the second channel.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND PAPER DUST CLEANING DEVICE
The present disclosure is an image forming apparatus including a paper dust cleaning device which removes paper dust adhered onto a surface of a conveying roller. The paper dust cleaning device includes a paper dust removing member which comes into contact with the surface of the conveying roller, a holder which holds the paper dust removing member, and a holder supporting portion which holds the holder at a predetermined attachment position so that the paper dust removing member comes into contact with the surface of the conveying roller, and the holder supporting portion includes a first guide portion which is provided on a side of the attachment position and guides the holder to a separated position at which the holder is set apart from the surface of the conveying roller in accordance with a movement of the holder from the attachment position toward a side of an insertion slot.
DOCUMENT PRESSING UNIT, AND AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT CONVEYING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS PROVIDED WITH THE SAME
A document pressing unit is openable with respect to an apparatus body including a placement portion on which a document is placed, and is configured to press the document from above. The document pressing unit includes a body frame, a pair of hinge units, a pair of metal fixing members, and fastening screws. The body frame is able to press the document. The hinge units respectively include hinge legs mounted on the apparatus body, and are mounted with a certain distance in a left-right direction on a rear end of the body frame to openably support the body frame with respect to the apparatus body. The fixing members fix the hinge units to the body frame, respectively. The fastening screws fasten the fixing member and the hinge unit through the body frame so that the fixing member and the hinge unit sandwich the body frame in an up-down direction.

An image reading apparatus includes a platen, a copyholder pressed against a reading surface of a document placed on the platen, and a placing part movably provided, on which a non-pressed portion of the document that is not pressed by the copyholder is placed.
OPTICAL FLATBED SCANNER WITH RIGID TRANSPARENT PLATE FIXING
A flatbed scanner document scanner includes a large format document scanner body accommodating a rectangular rigid frame with an upwardly facing plane face and a rectangular transparent plate for supporting a large format document. The rectangular transparent plate overlies the upwardly facing plane face all around the metal frame. The scanner also includes a movable carriage configured to move along and below the rectangular transparent plate and carrying a line camera extending across the rectangular transparent plate. The rectangular transparent plate and the metal frame are bonded together by a hard glue seam that runs on the upwardly facing plane face of the metal frame. A predetermined deflected shape can be formed when the bonded plate and frame are turned upside-down. The rectangular metal frame can deform under its own load to a cambered shape, a flat shape or a less deflected shape when turned upright in a normal position.

Image reading apparatus
An image reading apparatus is provided. The image reading apparatus includes: a platen glass; a moving member; a reading section held by the moving member, the reading section having a reading surface, a light-receiving element, a substrate section, and a case section; a transmission member; and a first biasing section. The moving member includes a facing surface that faces the substrate section. The case section includes a first wall and a second wall. The transmission member includes a first contacting section, a second contacting section, and a connecting section. The first biasing section is disposed such that its one end makes a contact with the facing surface of the moving member and its other end makes a contact with the connecting section of the transmission member.
Electrochromic scanning backing material
A scanning device includes a transparent platen which receives a sheet to be scanned. A backing assembly is spaced from the platen by the sheet during scanning. The backing assembly includes a backing plate of a fixed color and an electrochromic layer intermediate the backing plate and the platen. The electrochromic layer has a first state in which the electrochromic layer is opaque and has a different color from the fixed color, and a second state, in which the electrochromic layer is transparent to expose the backing plate through it. A sensor is positioned to acquire an image of the sheet based on light passing through the platen. A controller selectively applies a voltage across the electrochromic layer to change the electrochromic layer between the first and second states.
