Information processing apparatus with registered image detection
An information processing apparatus includes a setting unit, a detector and a controller. The setting unit sets setting information associating a registered image obtained by reading an image with control information indicating whether input image data is to be stored or not. The detector detects the registered image from the input image data. The controller controls whether or not the input image data including the registered image is stored in a storage based on the setting information.
Image forming apparatus
The image forming apparatus sets, as a cutting area, an area containing an image of a double-page spread out of image data obtained by a scan of a book-type document, sets a borderline which divides an area corresponding to one page of the image data and an area corresponding to the other page of the image data from each other, and divides the cutting area cut out from the image data into a one-side area of the borderline and the other-side area of the borderline, thereby generating a first pre-output page in which divided image data of the one-side area is provided and a second pre-output page in which divided image data of the other-side area is provided.
BOOK ELECTRONIZATION APPARATUS AND BOOK ELECTRONIZATION METHOD
A book electronization apparatus includes: a three-dimensional data generation unit that generates three-dimensional data; a two-dimensional page data generation unit that generates two-dimensional page data which has first points as points corresponding to ink and second points as values corresponding to a background; and a character recognition unit that recognizes a character by using the two-dimensional page data. The character recognition unit recognizes the character on the basis of a shape of a part of the character, which is generated by connecting the first points with one of the first points as an initial point in a partial region of a character region.
BOOK DIGITIZATION APPARATUS AND BOOK DIGITIZATION METHOD
A book digitization apparatus includes an emitter that applies an energy ray to a book, a detector that detects an energy ray radiated from the book in response to a material existing in the book, and a three-dimensional data generator that generates data of a plurality of space points in accordance with the detected ray. The data of the space points associates position information of a position in a three-dimensional space within the book with a physical property value used to identify a layout pattern of the material at the position in a direction of thickness of the book.
VIDEO-BASED DOCUMENT SCANNING
Technologies for video-based document scanning are disclosed. The video scanning system may divide a video into segments. A segment has frames with a common feature. For a segment, the video scanning system is configured to rank the frames in the segment, e.g., based on motion characteristics, zoom characteristics, aesthetics characteristics, quality characteristics, etc., of the frames. Accordingly, the system can generate a scan from a selected frame in a segment, e.g., based on the rank of the selected frame in the segment.
READING DEVICE
A reading device, in particular for the visually impaired, has a flat and transparent platen for reading material and an image-recording device for acquiring through the platen a text and/or an image of at least a part of the reading material. The reading device is designed and further developed to provide for easy transportation and simple stowage of the reading device when not in use. A support element is pivotable relative to the platen about a pivot axis assigned to the platen. The support element is pivotable into an operating position inclined at a defined angle to a vertical direction to position the platen into an operating position. The support element is also pivotable into a transportation or rest position whereby the platen and the support element substantially lie against each other.
IMAGE READING DEVICE
An image reading device includes a first roller that is rotatably supported by a frame, a second roller that is supported by the frame in a rotatable and translatable manner and that presses a medium against the first roller, a joint unit that transmits rotation from a drive shaft to the second roller, a drive unit that rotates both the first roller and the drive shaft, and a read unit configured to read an image on a conveyed medium that is conveyed by the rotation of the both of the first roller and the second roller.
ILLUMINATING DEVICE, IMAGE READING APPARATUS INCLUDING THE ILLUMINATING DEVICE, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCLUDING THE IMAGE READING APPARATUS
An illuminating device capable of stably illuminating an irradiated object such as a document while suppressing light loss with a simply structure is provided. An LED array and a reflective plate are disposed sandwiching a slit (St) through which light reflected by a document MS passes and a light-guiding member is disposed on the side of the LED array. The light-guiding member includes a direct emission unit disposed between an illumination range y centered on a document reading position and the LED array and an indirect emission unit disposed between the reflective plate and the LED array, a light incidence face of the direct emission unit and a light incidence face of the indirect emission unit are disposed at mutually different position around the LED array, and the LED array is disposed on a side of an interior angle formed by the light incidence faces.
Method for processing physical document images
A method for performing image processing of a physical document image. The method may include receiving an image file including an image of a physical document and a control target. The method may include measuring control target attributes of the control target. Measuring the control target attributes of the control target may include numerically measuring a degree of focus of the image file based on the control target. The method may include performing a static crop of the image file based on the control target attributes by removing the control target from the image file to create a cropped image.
