The image processing apparatus communicates with a server which provides a transfer service. An original on which a transfer destination is written is read to generate image data of the original. Optical character recognition is performed on the image data to extract a number having a predetermined number of digits. The number and position information of the number in the image data are stored. Information on the transfer destination, included in the image data, is acquired based on the number and the position information of the number. Control is performed to transmit a transfer instruction notification including the information on the transfer destination to the server.

A mobile terminal improved in operability concerning fax transmission. A CPU of the mobile terminal sets information indicative of a fax transmission destination, sets reading and transmission information concerning fax transmission and original reading, and sends a request for fax transmission, to an image forming apparatus. When a response notifying capability of fax transmission is received from the apparatus, the CPU causes a message for prompting a user to set an original, to be displayed on a display section. When the original has been set and an instruction for fax transmission from the user is received, the CPU sends an instruction for reading the original and executing fax transmission, together with the transmission destination information, and the reading and transmission information, to the apparatus. The CPU causes a result of fax transmission by the apparatus to be displayed on the display section.

An imaging apparatus includes imaging units that image a subject, a title generation executing unit that generates title images each including a display title for classifying a plurality of captured images acquired by the imaging unit and inserts the title image into the captured images, a storage unit that stores the captured images and the title images, a display unit that displays the captured images and the title images stored in the storage unit in the form of a list, and an image search executing unit that searches for a desired captured image from the plurality of captured images and the title images displayed on the display unit in the form of the list. The title generation executing unit hierarchically generates the title images in accordance with a priority set in each type of display title for classifying the captured images.

A portable information device includes: an image sensor; a position information acquisition portion that outputs position information; an orientation sensor; and a display that displays an image of an object output from the image sensor and displays relevant information on the object, the relevant information on the object being obtained based on at least measurement data from the position information acquisition portion and the orientation sensor.

A service system includes a mobile terminal and an information processing device capable of communication via a network. The mobile terminal includes a first transmission unit that transmits spherical images taken in respective imaging locations and positional information about the imaging locations to the information processing device. A method performed by a data processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus includes transmitting, by the data processing apparatus, an execution instruction for a job to the image forming apparatus, generating, by the image forming apparatus, an authentication code corresponding to the transmitted execution instruction and displaying the authentication code or information representing the encrypted authentication code on a display unit of the image forming apparatus, transmitting, by the data processing apparatus, an authentication code to the image forming apparatus, and executing, by the image forming apparatus, a job corresponding to the transmitted execution instruction in a case where a predetermined condition is determined to be satisfied based on the transmitted authentication code and the generated authentication code.

According to an aspect of the present invention, an information processing apparatus comprises receiving a selection of a channel for a destination of a document image, obtaining information of users belonging to the channel for the destination from an information sharing service, displaying a button for each of the obtained information of users on a screen, and if the button is pressed, displaying a message including a user corresponding to the pressed button as a recipient in an input field of the screen, and transmitting the message inputted on the screen and the document image to the channel of the information sharing service.

A communication terminal acquires a captured image from an image capturing apparatus and transfers the captured image to a server. The communication terminal includes: a first communication unit configured to communicate with the image capturing apparatus; a second communication unit configured to communicate with the server; a display unit configured to communicate with the image capturing apparatus, acquire, from the image capturing apparatus, a captured image managed by the image capturing apparatus, and display the captured image; a sound input unit configured to accept sound input for generating a terminal sound memo related to the displayed captured image; a storage unit configured to store the generated terminal sound memo in association with the captured image; and a control unit configured to perform control so that the second communication unit transfers, to the server, the acquired captured image and the generated terminal sound memo associated with the captured image.
