Information representative of camera settings used when taking a photo/video selected among the photos/videos available on the image/video hosting service is provided for transmission to the camera (5).

An image processing apparatus includes the following. A communicator performs data communication with a terminal apparatus. An energy saving setting unit controls an image forming apparatus that makes a transition to a power saving state if a transition time passes without any prescribed operation in a normal state, and it includes: a unit for storing specific day information distinguishing a normal operation day and a specific day; an auto pattern updating unit determining the transition time in a normal operation day based on past operational status of the normal operation day of the image forming apparatus; a specific day pattern registering unit receiving and storing setting of the transition time of the specific day; and a switching unit, switching the state of conduction of the image forming apparatus using the transition time determined by the auto pattern updating unit and the stored transition time, on the normal operation day and on the specific day, respectively, based on the specific day information.

An information processing apparatus includes a controller that acquires images captured by a camera mounted in a vehicle, and a memory that can store the images. The controller acquires travel data on the vehicle for when the image was captured and stores the image in the memory in a case in which the travel data satisfies a predetermined condition.

A handheld electronic device, such as a GPS-enabled wireless communications device with an embedded camera, a GPS-enabled camera-phone or a GPS-enabled digital camera, determines whether ephemeris data needs to be obtained for geotagging digital photos taken with the device. By monitoring user activity with respect to the camera, such as activation of the camera, the device can begin pre-acquisition of a GPS position fix by obtaining needed ephemeris data before the photograph is actually taken. This GPS pre-acquisition improves the likelihood that a position fix (GPS lock) is achieved by the time the photo is taken (to enable immediate geotagging). Alternatively, the photo can be geotagged retroactively by appending the current location to the metadata tag associated with the digital photo. An optional acquisition status indicator can be displayed on a user interface of the device to indicate that a position fix is being obtained.

Disclosed is an image forming apparatus, including: an input unit that inputs an original data; an image forming unit that forms an image on a recording sheet in accordance with the original data; an operation panel that comprises a display unit and an operating unit and that receives an operation for entering a job for forming the image on the recording sheet by using the image forming unit; a display control unit that displays one or more types of window on the display unit of the operation panel; and a conference information obtaining unit that obtains conference information of a conference held in a conference room which is placed near the image forming apparatus, from a predetermined conference management server that manages the conference information of the conference, wherein the display control unit displays the conference information on the display unit from the conference management server.

An electronic device, such as a digital camera, includes a deletion mode whereby a camera/electronic device user can delete captured images or data files that have already been transferred in order to make room in the electronic device or digital camera memory for capturing further images. In one embodiment, a digital camera keeps track of which images have already been transferred to an external storage device and presents those to the user as potential images to be deleted. In another embodiment, the user is presented with a delete all transferred images which when selected deletes all the captured images that have already been transferred. In still another embodiment, deletion criteria are used to prioritize which images are deleted first.

A portable device uses a microphone to listen to ambient audio, ascertains a corresponding identifier, and uses the identifier to enable one or more further functions. One of these can be internet search. Such functionality can also be based on digital datawithout requiring a microphone-equipped device.
