Provided is an image processing system which reduces the load of destination registration on the user. To accomplish this, in an image processing system including a PC (102) and device (101) connected to a network, the PC (102) has a transfer unit (120) which transfers identification data of the PC (102) to the device (101), and the device (101) has a scanner unit (130) which scans an image and outputs the image data, a memory (140) which stores a destination of the output image data from the scanner unit (130), a transfer unit (150) which transfers the image data to the destination stored in the memory (140), and a registration unit (170) which receives the identification data transferred by the transfer unit (120), and registers the received identification data as a destination of image data in the memory (140).

Embodiments of systems and methods for the sending, delivery and receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at a user's site, and a faxing system that may be deployed remotely from the user's site. The fax connector can be accessed at the user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at the user's site communicates with the remotely deployed faxing system to send, receive, obtain status on, or perform other functions associated with, faxing.

An image forming apparatus may include a communication unit configured to communicate with a portable electronic device and a controller configured to receive a location-related information that includes information about distances between the portable electronic device and a plurality of beacons, and store a location of the portable electronic device to register a location of the image forming apparatus.

Provided is an operating method of an image forming apparatus, the operating method including broadcasting a plurality of packets comprising identification information of the image forming apparatus; receiving a connection request comprising the identification information of the image forming apparatus from a mobile terminal which received some packets from among the plurality of broadcasted packets; and connecting to the mobile terminal, based on the connection request, wherein the connection request is transmitted from the mobile terminal when received signal strengths of the some packets received by the mobile terminal are equal to or greater than a first threshold value. In this regard, the first threshold value may indicate a received signal strength greater than a minimum received signal strength at which communication with the mobile terminal is available.

A file transmission apparatus includes a mail producing section that produces an email for transmitting a transmission object file, a file name producing section that produces a file name of the transmission object file based a character string included in the email processed by the mail producing section and that assigns the produced file name to the transmission object file, and a transmission section that attaches, to the email, the transmission object file with the file name assigned at the file name producing section and that transmits the email, to make user's manipulation significantly simplified and the usability further improved.

A communication apparatus capable of wireless communication with an external apparatus includes at least one processor, and at least one memory storing a program which is executed by the at least one processor to cause the communication apparatus to broadcast an advertisement signal prior to establishing a connection by wireless communication with the external apparatus, set an output radio wave intensity for which an advertisement signal is broadcast for a type of error which occurs in the communication apparatus, and determine a type of error that occurred in the communication apparatus. When an error occurs in the communication apparatus, the type of error that occurred is determined and an advertisement signal that includes information indicating that the error occurred is broadcasted at an output radio wave intensity set for the type of error.

An electronic device includes: a reception section to receive attribute information of input items inherent to an installed program as the input items for authentication; a storing section to store the attribute information; a display controlling section to display an input screen on a display section for entering the input items inherent to the program in addition to common input items for multiple programs based on the attribute information stored in the storing section, in response to an execution command from the program; and an indicating section to indicate input values for the input items inherent to the program to the program with respect to the inherent input items.

Provided is an image forming system that prevents leakage of confidential data. In the image forming system, a terminal includes a confidential-data-transmitting unit, a code-image-acquiring unit, and a confidential-document-data-creating unit. The confidential-data-transmitting unit transmits confidential data specified for confidentiality inside a document of document data to a server. The code-image-acquiring unit acquires a code image for outputting the confidential data from the server. The confidential-document-data-creating unit creates confidential-document data in which the code image is added to the document data. A server includes a confidential-data-acquiring unit, a code-image-creating unit, a code-image-transmitting unit, and a code-confidential-data-transmitting unit. The confidential-data-acquiring unit acquires the confidential data that is transmitted from the terminal. The code-image-creating unit creates the code image for outputting the confidential data. The code-image-transmitting unit transmits the code image to the terminal. The code-confidential-data-transmitting unit transmits the confidential data to an image forming apparatus. An image forming apparatus includes a decoding unit, a code-confidential-data-acquiring unit and an output-data-creating unit. The decoding unit decodes the code image from the confidential-document data that includes the code image. The code-confidential-data-acquiring unit acquires the confidential data from the code-confidential-data-transmitting unit according to the contents of the code image. The output-data-creating unit creates output data in which the confidential data is included in the confidential-document data.

Provided is an image management apparatus including: an acquiring unit configured to acquire data of an image and positional information on a subject included in the image; a computation unit configured to compute a relative positional relationship between a plurality of subjects included in the image in at least a depth direction, based on the acquired positional information on the plurality of subjects included in the image; and a creating unit configured to create a comment data relevant to the image automatically, based on the computed relative positional relationship between the plurality of subjects.

Mobile phones and other portable devices are equipped with a variety of technologies by which existing functionality can be improved, and new functionality can be provided. Some aspects relate to visual search capabilities, and determining appropriate actions responsive to different image inputs. Others relate to processing of image data. Still others concern metadata generation, processing, and representation. Yet others concern user interface improvements. Other aspects relate to imaging architectures, in which a mobile phone's image sensor is one in a chain of stages that successively act on packetized instructions/data, to capture and later process imagery. Still other aspects relate to distribution of processing tasks between the mobile device and remote resources (the cloud). Elemental image processing (e.g., simple filtering and edge detection) can be performed on the mobile phone, while other operations can be referred out to remote service providers. The remote service providers can be selected using techniques such as reverse auctions, through which they compete for processing tasks.
