In embodiments disclosed herein disclose methods and systems for providing a multitenant facsimile server. The computer instructions may be executable to maintain a set of entity information, wherein the entity information defines a plurality of tenants, and maintain a database configured to store transmitted and received fax documents corresponding to a plurality of tenants. The computer instructions may be further executable to receive a facsimile document at the fax server, wherein the facsimile document comprises one of a document to be transmitted or a received fax. The computer instructions may be further executable to identify a tenant associated with the document based on an identifier. Further, the computer instructions may be executable to store the document in the database, wherein the document is associated with the tenant in the database.

An image reading system includes a control section, wherein when a document region among the image data is included in the first region, a control section applies a first output setting associated with the first region to the document region and executes output for the document region, and when a document region is included in the second region, the control section applies a second output setting associated with the second region to the document region and executes output for the document region.

A tandem type image forming system includes a first image forming apparatus, and a second image forming apparatus connected in series to the first image forming apparatus and located on a downstream side in a sheet conveyance direction with respect to the first image forming apparatus. The tandem type image forming system has a controller which shortens a second sheet interval when conveying a plurality of consecutive sheets from the first image forming apparatus to the second image forming apparatus than a first sheet interval when conveying the plurality of consecutive sheets from the second image forming apparatus to a post processing apparatus connected to the second image forming apparatus.

An image forming apparatus which, to the extent possible, prevents an operation for protecting a printer engine from being uncompleted before power to the printer engine is shut down due to cancellation of a process that should be carried out by the printer engine. When a predetermined time period has elapsed since an instruction to reduce power consumption was detected, power to the printer engine is shut down. When the instruction is detected, a canceling instruction for canceling the process that should be carried out by the printer engine is issued to the printer engine. Responsive to this, a cancellation process for the process is started, and an engine protecting instruction for protecting the printer engine without waiting for completion of the cancellation process is issued to the printer engine. After the operation for protecting the printer engine is carried out, power to the printer engine is shut down.

Embodiment of systems and methods for the sending, delivery or receiving of faxes are disclosed herein. In particular, certain embodiments include a fax connector that may be deployed at users' sites, and a fax registration system that may be deployed remotely from these users' site. The fax connector can be accessed at a user's site over a computer based network in order to perform functions associated with faxing, including sending, receiving and obtaining status on faxes. The fax connector deployed at a sending user's site communicates with the fax registration system to obtain destination data associated with a recipient user's fax connector and transmits the fax to the destination fax connector over the computer based network based on the destination data obtained from the registration system. The fax can then be presented to the recipient at the recipient user's site.

An image forming apparatus comprises: a receiver which receives facsimile or print data file in a page description language, from an information processing apparatus; a spooler which stores the facsimile or print data file received therefrom, on the spooler itself; a converter which converts the facsimile or print data file stored on the spooler, to an image data format; a job generator which generates a job based on the obtained image data file; a facsimile transmitter; a printer; and a job controller which instructs the facsimile transmitter or the printer to perform facsimile transmission or printing according to the generated job, respectively. And the converter selects the facsimile or print data file among those stored on the spooler, based on the state of the printer and the state of the facsimile transmitter, before converting the facsimile or print data file to an image data format.

An image forming device executes a plurality of applications, and includes a scan controlling unit configured to instruct an image reading unit to read image data, and store the image data in an image data storage unit according to a request from the application; a display data generating unit configured to generate a display data of the image data stored in the image data storage unit, and store the display data in a display image data storage unit according to the request from the application, the display image data storage unit being inaccessible from the application; a display controlling unit configured to display the display data in a display unit according to the request from the application; and a deleting unit configured to delete the display data from the display data storage unit in response to a termination notice of use of the display data from the application.

An image processing apparatus has at least one standard function to be available upon start-up of the image processing apparatus itself and at least one optional function to be available by settings. The image processing apparatus includes an image input portion that inputs image data, an encoder that encodes the input image data, a main memory that stores the encoded image data, a non-volatile memory that stores a backup copy of the image data stored on the main memory, a settings portion that allows setting the optional function available, and a controller that reserves a memory area for an optional program to execute the available optional function in the main memory, and a memory area for input of the encoded image data in the main memory, the memory area being smaller than a memory area to be reserved if the optional function is unavailable.
