TELECOMMUNICATION PARAMETER CHANGE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Systems and methods for notifications related to the management of telecommunication parameters in a telecommunications network are disclosed. For example, a system receives a list of telecommunication parameters and monitors any changes related to one or more telecommunication parameters in the list. Upon detecting a change, the system notifies a user using, for example, a report that provides information of the change, as well as other pertinent information. The invention further relates to the concept of managing communications involved as part of the process of porting telephone numbers, such that the number of steps in the porting process are reduced. The system and method achieve this by modifying the steps undertaken during both the user verification and the routing update phases of the porting process.
Number Portability Determination in Variable Numbering Plan
A system or method for determining if a telephony network number is ported for use with variable numbering plan comprising, a first network node for receiving a number message comprising at least a first part of a dialled number identifying a called party, and a number portability database, containing routing numbers associated with entries in the database. The first network node is configured to compare the number message with entries in the number portability database. The first network node is configured such that if the number message or a first part of the number message uniquely matches with the whole of an entry in the database and does not match with part of another entry in the database, the first network node determines that a best match has been found. In this case, the first network node routes a call to a second network node identified by the routing number associated with the entry. The first network node is configured such that if the number message matches with at least part of at least one entry in the database, the first network node determines that at least one partial match has been found. The first network node then retrieves a further part of the dialled number. The first network node repeats the comparison based on a new number message comprising said first part of the dialled number and said further part of the dialled number. The first network node is configured such that if at least a first part of the number message cannot be matched to the whole of any entry in the database, the first network node determines that no match has been found. In this case, the first network node routes a call to a second network node identified by the dialled number.
Method and apparatus for detecting SMS parameter manipulation
System and method for detecting SMS parameters manipulation. A first SMS registry is coupled to a first Short Message Service Center (SMSC) and optionally to other SMS registries. The first SMSC is within a terminating telephone network. The first SMS registry receives first and second information about an SMS message that was sent from another telephone network or from an External Short Messaging Entity (ESME) and is destined to the first SMSC. The first and second information represent status of the SMS message respectively before and after the SMS message enters the terminating telephone network. The first SMS registry or a firewall automatically compares at least corresponding portions of the first and second information. As a result of the comparison, in response to detecting a difference between the at least portions of the first and second information, the first SMS registry automatically sends a signal indicating SMS parameter manipulation.
INDIVIDUAL TELEPHONE NUMBER ASSIGNMENT
Systems and methods for individual telephone numbering assignment and administration in a telecommunications network are disclosed. Particularly, the invention relates to the concept of acquiring individual telephone numbers instead of acquiring a block of telephone numbers from an administration agency. According to disclosed embodiments, the system and method allow a carrier to request an individual telephone number from a numbering administrator. The numbering administrator verifies that the carrier is authorized to request an individual telephone in a particular geographic area. If the carrier is authorized, the numbering administrator obtains an individual telephone number from its database and provides it to the carrier. The carrier initiates an intra-carrier assignment with an administrative agency to get the individual telephone number assigned to it. The administrative agency processes the assignment activation request, and upon completion of the addignment process, notifies all carriers that the individual telephone number is assigned to the requesting carrier.
Message routing using location routing numbers
Various embodiments provide for a way of routing messages using location routing numbers. More specifically, some embodiments can route calls on different legacy networks by using features of existing telecommunication policy and databases. For example, a location routing number can be registered in a number portability administration center database. The location routing number may be in a native number block of a facility carrier and a company registering the location routing number in the number portability administration center database may not be the facility carrier. The destination switch of the facility carrier can be programmed to accept traffic associated with the location routing number. As a result, components of the network can route the message for the company to a destination switch of the facility carrier.
Controller for the intelligent interconnection of two communication networks, and method of use for same
A caller ID based call routing feature. A processing system in the public switched telephone network (PSTN) receives first identifying information for identifying the source of a telephone call and associates additional information stored in a memory with the first identifying information. The additional information may then be transmitted to the subscriber via the Internet for display. Another feature is a branch calling feature where the subscriber may program a processing system within the PSTN to forward an incoming call to two or more end units (e.g., telephones) simultaneously. If the call at an end unit is answered, answer supervision signaling is transmitted back to the processing system which then terminates all other calls. The processing system then connects the calling party to the subscriber. The branch calling may be made for any combination of local, long distance, and cellular telephone numbers.
User partitioning in a communication system
Systems and methods for routing an incoming service request to one of a plurality of pod units are described. A communication system can be provided that includes a plurality of pods each having a first pod serving a first subset of user accounts associated with a hosted PBX system. The first pod can include a first pod unit in a first data center and a second pod unit in a second data center. A global user directory (GUD) can be used to store a plurality of user keys that are mapped to the plurality of pods. A router can be provided to identify a user key from an incoming service request, query the GUD to identify the first pod as being associated with the user key, and route the incoming service request to one of the first and second pod units.
MESSAGE ROUTING USING LOCATION ROUTING NUMBERS

For example, a location routing number can be registered in a number portability administration center database. The location routing number may be in a native number block of a facility carrier and a company registering the location routing number in the number portability administration center database may not be the facility carrier. The destination switch of the facility carrier can be programmed to accept traffic associated with the location routing number. As a result, components of the network can route the message for the company to a destination switch of the facility carrier.
METHOD, EQUIPMENT, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER STORAGE MEDIUM FOR IMPLEMENTING NUMBER PORTABILITY ANNOUNCEMENT
A method, a device and a storage medium for processing a communication service in a circuit switch domain are provided. The method may include: judging, when a communication service being currently processed by a communication terminal is a voice call service or a short message service in a circuit switch domain, whether a switching condition for switching the communication service onto a real-time communication tool in a packet switch domain of the communication terminal is met; if it is met, switching the communication service onto the real-time communication tool in the packet switch domain of the communication terminal.
