Controlling Device Participation in Wireless Sensing Systems
In a general aspect, motion is detected using wireless signals. In an example, a method includes receiving, at a wireless communication device, requests for the wireless communication device to transmit wireless signals, the requests initiated by a wireless sensing system. The method further includes transmitting a series of wireless signals from the wireless communication device in response to the requests, and detecting, at the wireless communication device, a trigger event after transmitting the series of wireless signals. The method additionally includes updating, by the wireless communication device, a state of the wireless communication device based on the trigger event, the updated state indicating that the wireless communication device is not enabled to transmit wireless signals in response to the requests from the wireless sensing system. The method also includes communicating, by the wireless communication device, the updated state of the wireless communication device to the wireless sensing system.

A sensor device attached to a weapon or its storage container, having on-board power, a processor and memory, wireless communications circuitry, sensing circuitry, preprogrammed to execute a range of functions at least periodically, configured for sending signals containing values including at least motion changes to a gateway device, which upon detection of certain values, executes programmed functions and provides alerts to the owner of the weapon by defined methods of communication, including utilization of additional condition checking and actions performed by an Internet network connected central server, where information and configuration options are made accessible by interactive interface.
Management of wireless transmission rate of control signals for power assistive devices
A system and method for transmission of a signal for a powered assistive device has a sensor node with a wireless transmitter adapted for digitally transmitting a transmitted signal, the sensor node adapted for receiving and monitoring a sensor signal from a sensor attached to a user, and a master node with a controller and a wireless receiver for receiving the transmitted signal from the wireless transmitter. The master node processes the transmitted signal and communicates a control signal to the powered assistive device. The wireless transmitter transmits the transmitted signal at a first rate when the wireless transmitter adapted to transmit the transmitted signal at a first rate when the sensor signal is indicative of the rest state and to transmit the transmitted signal at a second rate when the sensor signal is indicative of the active state, the second rate being greater than the first rate.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for detecting and verifying an environmental anomaly using multiple command nodes
A system for detecting and verifying an environmental anomaly within a shipping container (transported on a transit vehicle having an external transceiver) has wireless sensor-based ID nodes at different locations within the container and multiple command nodes mounted to the container. A first command node is programmatically configured to be operative to detect the sensor data broadcasted from the ID nodes; responsively identify the anomaly based upon the sensor data detected by that command node; and transmit a validation request to another command node. The other command node is configured to be operative to also detect the sensor data broadcasted from the ID nodes; receive the validation request from the first command node; verify the anomaly in response to the validation request and based upon the sensor data detected by the second command node; and broadcast a verification message based upon whether the anomaly for the shipping container is verified.
INFORMATION TRANSMISSION APPARATUS AND APPLIANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
An appliance management system manages information about appliances. The system includes an information collection system and an information transmission apparatus. The information collection system includes a database storing the information about the appliances, and first and second reception processing units that write information about the appliances that has been received to the database. The information transmission apparatus includes a transmission unit that transmits the information about the appliances to the first or second reception processing unit via a communication line, and a transmission information creation unit that creates transmission information as the information about the appliances. The transmission information creation unit creates as the transmission information to be sent to the first and second reception processing units, first and second transmission information from first and second type information about the appliances, respectively. The transmission unit sends the first and second transmission information to the first and second reception processing units.
Systems and methods for securely monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly
Systems and methods are described for securely monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly using elements of a wireless node network of sensor-based ID nodes disposed within the container and a command node associated with the container. The method has the command node identifying which of the ID nodes are confirmed as trusted sensors based upon a security credential specific to each of the ID nodes; monitoring only the confirmed ID nodes for sensor data broadcast those ID nodes; detecting the anomaly based upon the sensor data from at least one of the confirmed ID nodes; automatically generating an alert notification related to the detected environmental anomaly for the shipping container; and transmitting the alert notification to the external transceiver to initiate a mediation response related to the detected environmental anomaly.
Systems, apparatus, and methods for detecting an environmental anomaly and initiating an enhanced automatic response using elements of a wireless node network and using sensor data from ID nodes associated with packages and environmental threshold conditions per package
An improved system detects an environmental anomaly in a shipping container and initiates a mediation response through a generated layered alert notification. The system includes sensor-based ID nodes associated with packages within the container, and a command node mounted to the container communicating with the ID nodes and an external transceiver on a vehicle transporting the container. The command node is programmed to detect sensor data from the ID nodes; compare the sensor data to package environmental thresholds in context data related to each ID node; detect the environmental anomaly when the comparison indicates an environmental condition for at least one package exceeds its environmental threshold; responsively generate a layered alert notification identifying a mediation recipient and mediation action, and establishing a mediation response priority based upon the comparison; and transmit the layered alert notification to the transceiver unit to initiate a mediation response related to the mediation action.
APPARATUS, METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING
An apparatus system and method are provided for use in acquiring data from fluid within a region of material in a heap leaching application. The apparatus includes one or more sensor strings provided in a region of material to be analysed. Each sensor string includes a data cable and two or more solid-state sensors positioned along the length of the data cable. The sensors are adapted to periodically acquire sensor data relating to chemical properties of the fluid surrounding the sensor over a predetermined period of time and to transmit the sensor data via the data cable to one or more hubs.

Methods, systems, and enhanced shipping container apparatus assembly for monitoring for an environmental anomaly using a selectively assigned group of ID nodes in a wireless node network
Systems, apparatus, and methods detect and respond to environmental anomalies in a shipping container on a transit vehicle having an external transceiver. Systems generally have wireless ID nodes at different locations within the container and a command node mounted to the container. The command node is programmatically adapted to selectively assign a subset of the ID nodes as dedicated monitor beacons deployed within the container, identify an unresponsive group from the assigned subset of the ID nodes monitored to be in an unanticipated state of ceased broadcasting based upon the monitoring step. The command node detects the environmental anomaly when a size of the unresponsive group in the assigned subset of ID nodes exceeds a threshold setting maintained by the command node, automatically generates an alert notification related to the detected environmental anomaly, and initiates a mediation response for the anomaly by transmitting the alert notification to the vehicle's transceiver.
