The first module is configured to be retained against skin via a magnetic field at least partially generated by a magnet implanted in a recipient that interacts with the magnetic material of the first structure, the first module including a skin interfacing surface configured to interact with skin of the recipient when the first module is retained against the skin of the recipient, a second module including a second structure including magnetic material configured to enhance magnetic retention of the external component to skin of a recipient, wherein the second module is removably attached to the first module and visible from an outside of the external component when the second module is attached to the first module and when viewed from a side opposite the skin interfacing side.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CUSTOMIZING AUDITORY DEVICES
Systems and methods are provided for customizing an auditory prosthesis or other medical device. Customizing the auditory prosthesis includes obtaining and evaluating system data. The system data includes data from multiple sensors, including one or more sensors of an auditory prosthesis and one or more sensors of a recipient computing device. Based on the evaluation of the system data, a target behavior is determined, such as operating the auditory prosthesis in a particular sonic environment or with particular auditory prosthesis settings.
ENHANCING AUDITORY PERCEPTS WITH VESTIBULAR SIMULATION
Disclosed examples include technology to use residual vestibular function or residual vestibular nerve function of a recipient to provide low frequency information to enhance auditory percepts caused by auditory prostheses. An example can include adding a low frequency actuator to a cochlear implant for placement close to the vestibule of the ear. In addition or instead, one or more electrodes can be disposed proximate the vestibule of the ear to electrically stimulate residual vestibular function provided by, for example, the utricle and saccule. The stimulation provided by these components can be optimized for delivery to the vestibular system.
Bone Conduction Hearing Aid Device
Provided is a bone conduction hearing aid device, including: a housing, a piezoelectric vibration assembly and a vibration transmission element, the piezoelectric vibration assembly and the vibration transmission element are both arranged in the housing, a first end of the vibration transmission element is connected with the piezoelectric vibration assembly, a second end of the vibration transmission element is connected with the housing, and the housing includes a vibration output portion that outputs vibration through contact.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FITTING A HEARING SYSTEM TO A RECIPIENT BASED ON CORTICAL POTENTIALS OF THE RECIPIENT
An illustrative cochlear implant system includes an electrode lead having an array of electrodes, a cochlear implant coupled with the electrode lead and configured to be implanted within a recipient together with the electrode lead, and a processing unit communicatively coupled to the cochlear implant. The processing unit is configured to direct the cochlear implant to apply stimulation to the recipient by way of the array of electrodes. The processing unit is further configured to detect, by way of one or more electrodes included in the array of electrodes, a cortical potential produced by the recipient. Based on the detected cortical potential, the processing unit is configured to determine a fitting parameter associated with the cochlear implant system. Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed.

The transcutaneous bone-anchored hearing aid device for a recipient patient comprising; a receiver coil for transcutaneous receiving of an externally generated communication signal; a signal processor configured for converting the externally generated communication signal into an electrical stimulation signal; an electromagnetic vibrator configured for receiving the electrical stimulation signal, and wherein the electromagnetic vibrator including; a coil unit configured to generate a dynamic magnetic flux based on the electrical stimulation signal; a permanent magnet configured to generate a static magnetic flux; a mass unit connected to the permanent magnet; a bobbin unit configured to engage with the coil unit, the permanent magnet, and the mass unit; a spring unit configured for maintaining an air gap below a moving mass, wherein the moving mass includes the coil unit, the permanent magnet, the mass unit and the bobbin unit, and where the moving mass and the spring unit is configured to generate an acoustical vibration; a vibrator plate configured to receive the acoustical vibration, and where the air gap is between the vibrator plate and a part of the moving mass, and wherein the mass unit has at least one insert configured to receive at least one of a group that includes at least a part of the permanent magnet, the coil unit, the vibrator plate and/or the spring unit.
Bone conduction speaker and compound vibration device thereof
The present invention relates to a bone conduction speaker and its compound vibration device. The compound vibration device comprises a vibration conductive plate and a vibration board, the vibration conductive plate is set to be the first torus, where at least two first rods inside it converge to its center; the vibration board is set as the second torus, where at least two second rods inside it converge to its center. The vibration conductive plate is fixed with the vibration board; the first torus is fixed on a magnetic system, and the second torus comprises a fixed voice coil, which is driven by the magnetic system. The bone conduction speaker in the present invention and its compound vibration device adopt the fixed vibration conductive plate and vibration board, making the technique simpler with a lower cost; because the two adjustable parts in the compound vibration device can adjust both low frequency and high frequency area, the frequency response obtained is flatter and the sound is broader.
