MODIFYING AUDIO DATA TRANSMITTED TO A RECEIVING DEVICE TO ACCOUNT FOR ACOUSTIC PARAMETERS OF A USER OF THE RECEIVING DEVICE

A communication system provides audio content to one or more client devices capable of playing spatialized audio content. For example, the communication system receives audio content from a client device and transmits the audio content to other client devices to be played for users. The communication system dynamically modifies audio content transmitted to different client devices based on a payload including audio parameters (e.g., local area acoustic properties, an audiogram for a user, a head related transfer function for a user, etc.) received from a client device.

Arrangement for generating head related transfer function filters

Arrangement for acquiring images for producing a head related transfer function filter is disclosed. In the arrangement the camera of a mobile phone or similar portable device is adjusted for the imaging. All acquired images are analyzed and only suitable images are sent further for producing the head related transfer filter. The arrangement is further configured to provide instructions to the user so that the whole head and other relevant body parts are sufficiently covered.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SPATIAL RENDERING OF MULTI-USER VOICE COMMUNICATION

An illustrative application executing on a first device establishes a first network connection between the first device and a collaboration platform server managing a set of components for a collaboration platform providing voice communication services with respect to a virtual space. Using the first network connection, the application: 1) sets a first location within the virtual space at which a first voice component is positioned, and 2) determines a second location within the virtual space at which a second voice component is positioned. The application receives, by way of a second network connection between the first and second devices, audio data representing voice communication originating at the second device. Based on the first and second locations, the application generates a spatialized rendering of the audio data for presentation to a user. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IMPLEMENTING VOICE MONITORING AND TRACKING OF PARTICIPANTS IN GROUP SETTINGS

Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing voice monitoring and tracking, and, more particularly, to methods, systems, and apparatuses for implementing voice monitoring and tracking of participants in group settings. In various embodiments, a computing system might receive, from at least one audio sensor among the one or more audio sensors disposed within the first space, voice signals corresponding to voices associated with individuals present within the first space. The computing system might analyze the received voice signals to identify one or more individuals who are present within the first space. The computing system might present, within a user interface of the user device associated with the user, information regarding the identified one or more individuals to assist the user in coordinating discussions among the individuals present within the first space.

Validation of audio calibration using multi-dimensional motion check

Examples described herein involve validating motion of a microphone during calibration of a playback device. An example implementation involves a mobile device detecting, via one or more microphones, audio signals emitted from one or more playback devices as part of a calibration process. After the one or more playback devices emit the audio signals, the mobile device determines whether the detected audio signals indicate that sufficient horizontal translation of the mobile device occurred during the calibration process. When the detected audio signals indicate that insufficient horizontal translation occurred, the mobile device displays a prompt to move the mobile device more while the one or more playback devices emit one or more additional audio signals as part of the calibration process. When the detected audio signals indicate that sufficient horizontal translation occurred, the mobile device calibrates the one or more playback devices with a calibration based on the detected audio signals.

Augmented audio conditioning system

Techniques for implementing an augmented audio conditioning (AAC) system are described herein. In some examples, the AAC system can store conditioning data comprising crowd noise experiences associated with context-relevant environments and/or actions associated with an activity. The AAC system can detect an action of a user who is training in a conditioning environment and determine that the action is associated with the activity. In some examples, the AAC system can also determine an association between the action of the user and audio data representing a crowd noise experience of a context-relevant environment during an event. Furthermore, the AAC system can, in response to detecting the action of the user, output the audio-conditioning data into the conditioning environment to simulate the crowd noise experience of the context-relevant environment during the event.

Spatial instructions and guides in mixed reality

Exemplary systems and methods for creating spatial contents in a mixed reality environment are disclosed. In an example, a location associated with a first user in a coordinate space is determined. A persistent virtual content is generated. The persistent virtual content is associated with the first user's associated location. The first user's associated location is determined and is associated with the persistent virtual content. A location of a second user at a second time in the coordinate space is determined. The persistent virtual content is presented to the second user via a display at a location in the coordinate space corresponding to the first user's associated location.

An apparatus for rendering an audio scene comprising an audio source at an audio source position and a plurality of diffracting objects, comprises: a diffraction path provider for providing a plurality of intermediate diffraction paths through the plurality of diffracting objects, an intermediate diffraction path having a starting point and an output edge of the plurality of diffracting objects and an associated filter information for the intermediate diffraction path; a renderer for rendering the audio source at a listener position, wherein the renderer is configured for determining, based on the output edges of the intermediate diffraction paths and the listener position, one or more valid intermediate diffraction paths from the audio source position to the listener position, determining, for each valid intermediate diffraction path of the one or more valid intermediate diffraction paths, a filter representation for a full diffraction path, and calculating audio output signals for the audio scene using an audio signal associated to the audio source and the filter representation for each full diffraction path.

SPATIALIZED AUDIO CHAT IN A VIRTUAL METAVERSE

Implementations described herein relate to methods, systems, and computer-readable media to provide spatialized audio in virtual experiences. The spatialized audio may be used in voice communications such as, for example, voice and/or video chats. The chats may include spatialized audio that is combined at a client device, or at an online experience platform, and is targeted to a particular user. Individual audio streams may be collected from a plurality of avatars and other objects, and combined based on the target user. The audio may also include background and/or ambient sounds to provide a rich, immersive audio stream in virtual experiences.
