MULTIPLE ADAPTIVE GEO-FENCES FOR A BUILDING

A building automation system may include a memory for storing a first geofence for a first building component and a second geofence for a second building component. A controller may be operably coupled to the memory and may be configured to cause an adjustment to operation of the first building component in response to a user's mobile device crossing the first geofence and may cause an adjustment to operation of the second building component in response to the user's mobile device crossing the second geofence. The controller may be configured to receive one or more current conditions and to adapt a size of the first geofence and/or a size of the second geofence based on the received one or more current conditions.

Power tool geofence tracking and dashboard

Methods and systems for power tool geofence tracking. One embodiment provides a method for power tool geofence tracking and dashboard display. The method includes determining, using an electronic processor with a transceiver, a location of one or more power tool devices and generating, using the electronic processor, a dashboard to simultaneously display a location-based inventory, indication of number of missing tool, and geofence setup of power tool devices within the inventory. The method also includes displaying, using the electronic processor, the dashboard on an electronic display.

A mobile device periodically determines its location and compares its location to a set of user-authorized geofenced region definitions. The proximity to any of the geofenced regions, as determines how often the mobile device determines its location (location sampling), and how it handles location information. Initially, when the mobile device is well outside of any of the geofenced regions a low location sampling rate is used. When the mobile device is within any of the geofenced regions, location information is transmitted, generally, to a backend server over a network. When the mobile device is not within any of the geofenced regions, transmission of location information can be inhibited. Further, when the mobile device is within a threshold distance of one of the geofenced regions, the sampling rate can be increased.

Safety geofence zone deployment

Safety geofence zones may be created and deployed for a ride sharing service. At least one set of safety geofence zones may be created which are associated with a ride sharing service. A zone type may be set for each set of safety geofence zones in the at least one set of safety geofence zones. At least one trigger condition may be set for the at least one set of safety geofence zones. The at least one set of safety geofence zones may be deployed.

A system for exchanging GPS or other position data between wireless devices for purposes of group activities, child location monitoring, work group coordination, dispatching of employees etc. Cell phones and other wireless devices with GPS receivers have loaded therein a Buddy Watch application and a TalkControl application. The Buddy Watch application communicates with the GPS receiver and other wireless devices operated by buddies registered in the users phone as part of buddy groups or individually. GPS position data and historical GPS position data can be exchanged between cell phones of buddies and instant buddies such as tow truck drivers via a buddy watch server. Emergency monitoring services can be set up with notifications to programmable individuals in case an individual does not respond. Positions and tracks can be displayed. TalkControl simplifies and automates the process of joining talk groups for walkie talkie services such as that provided by Nextel.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SELECTIVE ZONE-BASED COMMUNICATIONS
20170238134 · 2017-08-17 ·

A method, apparatus and computer program product are described to provide geographically-related features and services based at least in part upon the data provided by a mapping database, such as by providing for selective communication with user devices in a manner dependent upon a mapping database. In the context of a method, the location of a user device is determined. The method also determines whether the location of the user device is within an inner zone or a proximity zone extending at least partially about the inner zone. The inner zone is defined to encompass a reference point. If the user device is within the inner zone, a message is caused to be transmitted to the user device. However, if the user device is in the proximity zone, a function is performed relative to the user device that differs from causing the message to be transmitted to the user device.

Systems and methods to select locations of interest based on distance from route points or route paths

Selection of offers, locations or merchants based on their distances from a portion of a user's route and their affinity for the user is disclosed. A route employed by a user for travelling to a destination is obtained and segmented at identified vertices. Locations that are proximate to the route segments are determined. The proximate locations are further analyzed to obtain their specific distances from a selected portion such as the user's origin or destination or any route segment. Location based services are associated with those proximate locations that are closest to the selected portion on the user's route or those with the better utility.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MAP QUERY AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE

A method for map query includes the following. A map query request and a current location of a terminal device are obtained. A map area to be displayed and a query object to be highlighted in the map area are obtained based on the map query request and the current location. A display icon corresponding to the query object is generated. A radar chart of the map area is drawn based on the current location, and the location where the query object is located is marked with the display icon.

VEHICLE AND TERMINAL DEVICE LOCATION DETERMINING SYSTEM, AND METHOD

An information processing system includes a vehicle, a terminal device, and a server that can communicate with the vehicle and the terminal device. The vehicle repeatedly transmits positional information on the vehicle to the server at predetermined timings. The terminal device repeatedly transmits user identification information for identifying a user of the terminal device and positional information on the terminal device to the server at predetermined timings. The server determines, based on the positional information on the vehicle and the positional information on the terminal device, whether or not the terminal device is located in a reference region within a predetermined distance from the vehicle, and determines, based on the user identification information, that the user of the terminal device is on board the vehicle, when it is determined that the terminal device is located in the reference region.

Method and system of indoor positioning of a user and delivery of information thereto

Methods and systems of indoor positioning of a user and delivery of information thereto are described. A system may include a communication device and a plurality of networked devices. The communication device may receive incoming information which is intended for receipt by a user, and transmit a request signal responsive to the receiving of the incoming information. Each of the networked devices may receive the request signal, and determine which one of the networked devices is situated to notify the user of the incoming information. The networked device situated to notify the user may proceed to notify the user of the incoming information.
