Media device that uses geolocated hotspots to deliver content data on a hyper-local basis
The hyper-local broadcasting system may include a global positioning system (“GPS”) embedded in a user's media device, such as a smartphone or tablet. The hyper-local broadcasting system allows a person to create a localized hotspot and to specify the information that is pushed to users who enter the hotspot in a hyper-localized manner. Such information may be, for example, ads, coupons, music, video, literature, and other information that may be particularly relevant to the hotspot.
LOCATION-BASED APPLICATION DISCOVERY
A computer system and method for providing location-based application access is provided. For example, the computer system includes a processor configured to receive a connection request for access to a distributed workspace, the connection request including location information for a client device. The processor can access metadata for each of a plurality of location-based applications, the metadata including location information for each of the applications defining at least one physical location where each of the applications can be accessed. The processor can compare the location information against the metadata for each of the applications and determine one or more applications that match the location information for the client device. The processor then can organize each of the applications that have associated location information that matches the location information into a listing of available applications and transmit the listing of available applications for display to a user of the client device.
IN-VEHICLE POSITION DETECTION AND CONFIGURATION OF VEHICLE COMPONENTS
There is described herein a method and system for the configuration of vehicle management components using in-vehicle position detection. The in-vehicle position detection may also be used for providing a floor plan of the vehicle. In some embodiments, in-vehicle position detection may be used concurrently for configuring vehicle management components and for providing floor plans.
Apparatus, Devices and Methods for Content Distribution and Access via Object-Motion Tracking Using a Wireless Communications Network
The systems and methods disclosed herein provide for the development of a wireless communication network that monitors a physical environment. The network components include relay nodes, parent modules and end user devices distributed throughout the physical environment. Such components are programmed, controlled and monitored via cloud computing while the components are also accessed for use by end users via mobile platforms. The systems and methods disclosed herein provides for the distribution of hyperlinked-content to end user devices.
Performing an analysis of information to identify a source of an error related to a device
A tester device may establish a connection to customer devices using protocols, such as a Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) protocol or an Open Mobile Alliance device management (OMA DM) protocol. The tester device may receive information related to wireless communications or operations of the customer devices and the information may be determined by the customer devices. The tester device may perform an analysis of the information. The tester device may provide instructions to the customer devices to cause the customer devices to use a channel to communicate. The tester device may perform a throughput test of the customer devices. The tester device may receive additional information based on performing the throughput test. The tester device may perform a comparison of the information and the additional information. The tester device may provide other instructions to the customer devices to cause the customer devices to use the channel.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IN A TIMED MANNER ENABLING A USER DEVICE ON THE MOVE TO UTILIZE DIGITAL CONTENT ASSOCIATED WITH ENTITIES AHEAD
The disclosure relates to a content selection system for enabling a user device on the move to utilize content associated with an entity located ahead of the user device. The content selection system determines a current position and travel direction of the user device, determines a current travel remainder for moving along a travel route from the current position to the entity located ahead of the user device, based on stored geographical location associated with the entity. The content selection system compares the travel remainder to a maximum threshold value associated with the entity. The content selection system enables content associated with the entity to be utilized by the user device, when the travel remainder is equal to or lower than the maximum threshold value. The disclosure also relates to a user device comprising at least a portion of the content selection system.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SELECTIVELY ENABLING A USER DEVICE ON THE MOVE TO UTILIZE DIGITAL CONTENT ASSOCIATED WITH ENTITIES AHEAD
The present disclosure relates to a method performed by a content selection system and a user device including at least a portion of the content selection system for selectively enabling a user device on the move to utilize digital content associated with one or more entities located ahead of the user device. The system determines a current position and travel direction of the user device and derives foresight conditions input including time availability indicating parameter(s). The system defines a geographical limiting zone extending in front of the user device, based on the position, travel direction, and a first time availability indicating parameter of the foresight conditions input. The system compares the limiting zone to a first stored geographical location of at least a first entity, and enables content associated with the first entity to be utilized by the user device, when the first location is within the limiting zone.
Integration of cellular phone detection and reporting into a prison telephone system
The present subject matter is directed to an apparatus and methodology for monitoring for the occurrence of use of unauthorized telecommunications equipment within a designated area. The present subject matter has particular utility to the corrections environment in that it discloses a methodology for detecting and reporting the unauthorized operation of cellular telephones within a corrections facility. The present technology may be used advantageously in combination with inmate telephone systems to transmit information to appropriate personnel in the form of email messages and/or voice communications by way of telephone local or corrections facility external telephone lines. The present technology also provides for recordation and storage of time, date and location information for detected events.
Systems and Methods for Using a Location-Based Field of View Associated with a Virtual Location Marker
An exemplary method includes a proximity detection system that accesses information associated with a virtual location marker positioned in relation to a geographic area. The information defines a location-based field of view (“LFOV”) that extends directionally from the virtual location marker. The proximity detection system further tracks a location of a mobile computing device at the geographic area and determines, based on the information associated with the virtual location marker and the location of the mobile computing device, that the mobile computing device has entered the LFOV that extends directionally from the virtual location marker.
DEVICE AND SYSTEM HAVING A USER INTERFACE FOR EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS
The disclosure is directed toward a communication system having a mobile device using a gesture-based user interface. The mobile device may include a user interface that is configured to accept gesture-based commands from a user and relay important information to a responder server during emergency situations.
