Rank indicator inheritance for subframe restricted channel state information reporting

Generally, this disclosure provides devices, systems and methods for subframe restricted Channel State Information (CSI) reporting with Rank Indicator (RI) inheritance. A User Equipment (UE) device may include an RI generation module to generate RIs based on a received CSI configuration from an evolved Node B (eNB) of a serving cell of the UE. The UE may also include an RI Reference Process CSI generation module to generate a first Reference CSI including a first selected RI of the generated RIs, the first selection based on a first subframe set of the received CSI configuration, and to generate a second Reference CSI including a second selected RI of the generated RIs, the second selection based on a second subframe set of the received CSI configuration. The UE may further include a Linked Process CSI generation module to generate a linked CSI including an inherited RI from the first Reference CSI.

Orchestrator and interconnection fabric mapper for a virtual wireless base station

Disclosed is a virtual wireless base station that can dynamically scale its capacity to meet changes in demand for connectivity. The virtual wireless base station includes a plurality of virtual baseband modules, a plurality of interface/router modules, an orchestrator module and a fabric mapper module. Each of the plurality of virtual baseband modules is coupled to the interface/router modules by a low latency switch fabric. The orchestrator determines current and near future demand for connectivity within the virtual wireless base station and either instantiates and connects new virtual baseband processors to meet a rise in demand, or shuts down underutilized virtual baseband processors in case of insufficient demand.

In order to appropriately accommodate a terminal apparatus, based on security information, a core network node 350 configured to belong to a core network forming a plurality of network slices includes a communication processing unit configured to send, to a terminal apparatus 100, a command indicating a parameter related to a network slice for accommodating the terminal apparatus 100, based on security information related to security of the terminal apparatus 100.

AP-local dynamic switching

A technique for implementing AP-local dynamic switching involves Layer 2 switching. This may be accomplished by providing data associated with wireless stations to an AP sufficient to enable the AP to determine whether traffic from a particular wireless station should be locally switched. Alternatively, the wireless station may be able to determine whether to locally switch traffic based upon the traffic itself. For example, it may be desirable to AP-locally switch voice traffic to avoid latency, which is particularly detrimental to voice transmissions such as voice-over-IP. Traffic that is not to be switched locally is Layer 2 tunneled upstream.

Traffic hub system to provide roaming service in a wireless environment

A traffic hub system comprising a roaming data module to send and receive data for a roaming wireless network for a mobile device, the mobile device comprising a service utilizing a high-speed data network, a home data module to send and receive data for a home wireless network for the mobile device, the home wireless network being a different network than the roaming wireless network, the home wireless network comprising a packet data network gateway. The traffic hub system comprising a bandwidth negotiation module to negotiate bandwidth for the mobile device with the roaming wireless network based on a home network policy when the mobile device is in the roaming wireless network, and a traffic control module, the traffic control module comprising a processor to update a quality of service parameter based on the negotiated bandwidth, transparently to the roaming wireless network and without enforcement of the home network policy by the home wireless network, the enforcement including providing the negotiated bandwidth.

Voice Over IMS Roaming Gateway

A system and method enabling VoLTE roaming between at least two mobile LTE networks. According to at least one example embodiment, the system includes a signaling manager, a media resource manager, a serving gateway, a virtual user device for each of one or more user devices. The signaling manager and the media resource manager are configured to accept signaling and a media stream, respectively, from one or more user devices associated with a home mobile network. According to at least one other aspect, each virtual user device is configured to relay the accepted signaling and media stream through a connection established by the serving gateway, to the home network.

Bypassing routing stacks using mobile internet protocol

Methods, systems and computer program products for load balancing using Mobile Internet Protocol (IP) Version 6 are provided. A request for a connection is received from a client at a routing stack. A Mobile IP Version 6 Binding Update message is transmitted from the routing stack to the client responsive to the received request. The Binding Update message identifies a selected target stack so as to allow the client to communicate directly with the target stack bypassing the routing stack.

Traffic flow mobility with single host connection

There are provided measures for traffic flow mobility with a single host connection. Such measures exemplarily comprise the definition of a first binding between a set of home addresses of a host and an address of a first interface of a mobile access gateway to a local mobility anchor, the definition of at least one second binding between the same set of home addresses of the host and an address of at least one second interface of the mobile access gateway to the local mobility anchor, and the recording of a mapping between any one of the first and second bindings and traffic flows between the host and the local mobility anchor via a host connection to the mobile access gateway.

Forwarding telephone calls to a mobile terminal via a femtocell

An application server for use in a telecommunications network. The application server comprises a receiver for receiving an indication of a call setup or message to a fixed line telephone number of a subscriber, a determining unit for determining whether a mobile station of the subscriber is connected to a home femtocell of the subscriber, and a redirection unit for causing the call setup or message to be redirected towards the mobile station if the subscriber's mobile station is connected to the home femtocell.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR CONFIGURING NETWORK CONNECTIONS USING A MEMORY

Methods and apparatus for configuring network connections using memory are described. An example method for use in mobile equipment includes: reading a mobile subscriber identity from a memory device associated with the mobile equipment; determining if part or all of the mobile subscriber identity matches a data set entry within a file associated with the mobile equipment; determining if an elementary file is on the memory device; when the elementary file is on the memory device, determining if an access point name is stored in a location identified in the elementary file; and when the access point name is stored in the location identified in the elementary file, using the access point name to connect the mobile equipment to a mobile network. Other examples are disclosed.
