Privacy control of location information

One embodiment of the present is a method of implementing privacy control of location information. Such a method comprises defining a geographic zone for which pseudo-location information is to be reported as the current location of the user, wherein the pseudo-location information is not the current location of the user; receiving the current location of the user; determining that the current location is in the geographic zone; and reporting the pseudo-location information as the current location of the user when the current location is determined to be in the geographic zone. Other methods and systems are also provided.

SUPPORT OF MOBILE-TERMINATED APPLICATION SERVICES IN A MOBILE SYSTEM

In an embodiment, there is provided a method for support of mobile-terminated application services in a mobile system, said method comprising; —based on a User Equipment UE subscription, enabling, for one or more subscribed Access Point Name APN, triggering of at least one network Application associated with a given of said one or more APN, upon said UE being reachable again after failure of a mobile network procedure to reach said UE via a Packet Data Network PDN connection established for said UE and said APN.

A position information distribution server includes: a communication unit that is provided outside a core network and receives identification information of a cellular phone and position information of the cellular phone from base transceiver stations, switching centers, VLRs, or an HLR; and a recording unit that records a first table including information to specify a server transmitting the position information among position information provision servers, for each identification information of the cellular phone. The position information provision servers are servers that provide position information services for transmitting the position information transmitted from the position information distribution server to information terminals. When the communication unit receives the identification information and the position information of the cellular phone, the communication unit transmits the identification information and the position information of the cellular phone to a server shown in the first table among the position information provision servers.

A location provision facility communicates with a mobile telecommunications device over an IP-based telecommunications network to obtain information that enables the facility to determine a location of the telecommunications device. The facility and/or the telecommunications device store the determined location. In response to requests from location-based applications for the location of the telecommunications device, the facility can provide the location-based applications with the stored or calculated location.

Secure location session manager

A Secure Location Session Manager (SLSM) is an intelligent router for open mobile alliance (OMA) Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) Version 1.0 (and later) messages best implemented when multiple, geo-diverse SUPL servers are deployed in a distributed environment, such as an active-active redundant configuration within a wireless carrier's network. In a standalone option, the SLSM acts as a “middleman” for all SUPL positioning messages between a mobile device and a responsible SUPL server. In an embedded option, the SLSM resides within an existing server. The SLSM manages and stores session information for all pending and ongoing SUPL positioning sessions in internal tables for routing and load balancing purposes. The external interfaces of the SLSM consist of OMA ULP messages.

Radius accounting feed distribution and active on-network determination

An application interface can support real-time RADIUS accounting notification. The application interface can have integrated RADIUS server accounting A RADIUS server can contain data session accounting messages, for example session start. A real-time feed can be received from the RADIUS server. RADIUS accounting messages received via the feed can be translated into application notification messages. The translated application notification messages can be delivered to registered applications that may reside on an external customer network.
