Method for providing a service to a user equipment connected to a first operator network via a second operator network

One aspect of the disclosure relates to a method for providing a service to a user equipment connected to a first operator network. The second operator network comprises a register containing subscription information of the user equipment. The method comprises a number of steps. One of these steps is receiving from the first operator network a service request of the user equipment, the service request being associated with the service. Another step is obtaining a service-deployment-specification for the second operator network comprising at least one network function associated with the service on the basis of the service request. Yet another step is converting the service-deployment-specification for the second operator network into a generic specification, the generic specification enabling execution of the at least one network function in the first operator network for providing the service to the user equipment. Yet another step is transmitting the generic specification to the first operator network. The invention further relates to systems and nodes in the first and second operator network, and to a computer program product for performing methods for providing the service.

System and methods for registering wireless devices and transmitting information

The invention relates to a system comprising a mobile device (1), a device (13b) for transmitting information, a device (15) hosting a device registry (14) and a wireless device (3a). The mobile device (1) comprises a receiver, a transmitter, storage means and a processor. The processor is configured to use the receiver to determine that a wireless device (3a) has newly connected to the mobile device (1), to store or update a profile corresponding to the wireless device (3a) on the storage means, to use the transmitter to transmit first information to at least one device registry (14), the first information comprising an identifier of the wireless device (3a), to use the receiver to determine that a status of the wireless device (3a) has changed to a new status, to update or remove the profile stored on the storage means if the status of the wireless device (3a) has changed co to the new status, and to use the transmitter to transmit second information to the at least one device registry (14) if the status of the new wireless device (3a) has changed to the new status, the second information comprising the identifier of the wireless device (3a) and the new status. Smart context subsampling on-device system

The present disclosure provides a system for intelligently sampling information, such as location, activities, etc. on device. Sampling and uploading of background context is optimized using machine learning, such that battery usage is reduced, and quality of metrics based on the reported information is maintained or improved. A policy is generated based on the machine learning, the policy dictating how scanning and upload rates should change in response to conditions on the device.
