Smart context subsampling on-device system
The present disclosure provides a system for intelligently sampling information, such as location, activities, etc. on device. Sampling and uploading of background context is optimized using machine learning, such that battery usage is reduced, and quality of metrics based on the reported information is maintained or improved. A policy is generated based on the machine learning, the policy dictating how scanning and upload rates should change in response to conditions on the device.
Methods and Apparatuses for Exposure of Monitoring Event
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for exposure of monitoring event. According to an embodiment, a network exposure node receives a first request for subscribing to a plurality of monitoring reports for each of a group of terminal devices which include one or more terminal devices having both globally valid identifiers (IDs) and locally valid IDs. The network exposure node obtains, from a subscriber management node, the globally valid IDs and the locally valid IDs of the one or more terminal devices and a correspondence between the globally valid IDs and the locally valid IDs. In response to receiving from a mobility management node a monitoring report for a terminal device in the group of terminal devices, the network exposure node determines, for the terminal device, a current remaining number of monitoring reports based on the obtained IDs and correspondence.
METHOD AND NETWORK EXPOSURE FUNCTION ENTITY FOR FACILITATING PROVISION OF LOCATION SERVICE
The present disclosure provides a method in a Network Exposure Function, NEF, entity for facilitating provision of Location Service, LCS. The method includes: receiving from an Application Function, AF, entity a monitoring event subscription message requesting for location reporting of a current location of a terminal device; transmitting a monitoring event configuration request to configure location reporting on an Access and Mobility Management Function, AMF, entity; receiving from the AMF entity a monitoring event indication containing an indication of a cell in which the terminal device is currently located; transmitting to an LCS node a request for the current location of the terminal device; receiving from the LCS node the current location of the terminal device; and transmitting to the AF entity a monitoring event subscription response message containing the current location of the terminal device.
5G Network Exposure Function (NEF) capturing processor identity
A method of establishing a network connection between a subscriber device and a network server having a server processor matching a device processor of the subscriber device. The method comprises receiving a processor matching message (PMM) by an Exposure Function (EF) executing on a computer system, where the PMM comprises a request for a network service and an EF attribute representing an identity of a device processor of a subscriber device, determining by the EF the existence of a matching network server offering the requested network service and having a server processor with an identity matching the identity of the device processor, and based on the determination that the matching network server exists, establishing by the EF a connection between the matching network server and the subscriber device.

PROVIDING COVERAGE TO USER EQUIPMENT FROM ANOTHER NETWORK AFFECTED BY A NETWORK OUTAGE OF LIMITED DURATION
The technologies described herein are generally directed to providing internetwork coverage to user equipment affected by a temporary network outage in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include identifying an outage area associated with an incident. The method can further include, based on the outage area, identifying a user equipment affected by a coverage interruption. Further, the method can include communicating a notification comprising an identification of the user equipment as being affected by the coverage interruption, the second network equipment is part of a second communication network based on the outage area, identify a user equipment affected by a coverage based on the outage area interruption based on coverage being available to the user equipment, after the coverage interruption, via the second communication network.

ENHANCED CAPABILITY EXCHANGE PROCEDURE FOR RADIO ACCESS TECHNOLOGY CHANGE
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for enhanced user equipment (UE) capability exchange for transitioning a connection from a first radio access technology system to a second radio access technology system. An exemplary method performed by a UE includes communicating with a first base station (BS) via a connection of a first radio access technology (RAT), determining, based on the first RAT, to omit a set of capabilities of the UE from capabilities information of the UE regarding a second RAT, transmitting the capabilities information of the UE regarding the second RAT to the first BS via the first RAT, communicating with a second BS via the second RAT according to the capabilities information, and sending an update of the capabilities information of the UE regarding the second RAT via the second RAT.
