DATA TRANSMISSION METHOD, MULTI-FUNCTION CARD, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE
Embodiments of this application provide a data transmission method, a multi-function card, and an electronic device. The multi-function card may work as a SIM card or a memory card by using electrical contacts through time division multiplexing. Data is transmitted between the multi-function card and a processor in the electronic device, so that a function of subscriber identity identification can be implemented, and a storage capacity of the electronic device can be expanded. Storage space expanded in the electronic device may be used to store a picture, audio, a video, and an application program. The data transmission method and the multi-function card provided in embodiments of this application may be used to save physical space in the electronic device. This is conducive to lightening and thinning of the electronic device.
DETERMINING A DEFAULT NETWORK SLICE
Methods for determining a default network slice are provided. More specifically, the methods include determining a default Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI) that identifies the default network slice for establishing a Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session for an application in a wireless device without an S-NSSAI association. Various embodiments for determining the S-NSSAI are also disclosed herein. By determining the default network slice, it is possible to eliminate existing ambiguity associated with establishing a PDU session for application without S-NSSAI association, thus helping to reduce implementation complexity in a wireless device and/or a core network node.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS OF USING REMOTE SUBSCRIBER IDENTIFICATION MODULES AT A DEVICE
The present invention discloses methods and systems for communicating at a cellular router between a first wireless communication module and a first subscriber identity module (SIM). The cellular router receives a first request from a first wireless communication module and encapsulates the first request in a first modified request. The cellular router then sends the first modified request to a first SIM card in a first communication apparatus and waits for a first modified reply. While waiting for the first modified reply the cellular router sends at least one halt message to the first wireless communication module after a first time threshold. After receiving the first modified reply, the cellular router decapsulates the first modified reply to retrieve a first reply and sends the first reply to the first wireless communication module where the first modified reply is a reply to the first modified request.
MANAGING A SUBSCRIPTION IDENTIFIER ASSOCIATED WITH A DEVICE
A system is disclosed for managing a communication network subscription identifier associated with a device. The system comprises a Core Network node configured to provide a subscription identifier for the device to a Device Management node with management responsibility for the device. The system further comprises a Verification node configured to receive from the Device Management node the subscription identifier and a characteristic of the device, and to bind the subscription identifier to the characteristic such that the subscription identifier is uniquely associated with the characteristic. The system further comprises a Network Access node configured to obtain the subscription identifier from the device. The Verification node, Network Access node and Core Network node are configured to cooperate to verify that the device from which the Network Access node obtained the subscription identifier is in possession of the characteristic that is bound to the subscription identifier.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING COMMUNICATION SERVICES USING A PLURALITY OF REMOTE SUBSCRIBER IDENTITY MODULES
A method and a wireless communication device for providing communication service to devices connected to the wireless communication device. By establishing a starter wireless carrier connection using a starter SIM from a plurality of local SIMs, the wireless communication device establishes one or more logical data connections with one or more SIM banks. Remote-SIMs are selected from the one or more SIM banks and used to establish further wireless carrier connections to allow communication service to be provided to the devices over wireless carrier connections.
INTERNET-OF-THINGS (NB-IOT) CARRIER-BASED INTEGRATED ACCESS AND BACKHAUL
A wireless backhaul link is established between the IAB node and an IAB donor node via a first Narrow-Band Internet-of-Things (NB-IoT) carrier, in which the IAB donor node provides the IAB node with access to a wired backhaul connection that links to a core network of the wireless carrier network. One or more corresponding wireless backhaul links are further established between the IAB node and one or more additional IAB nodes via a one or more corresponding NB-IoT carriers. A wireless access link is then established between the IAB node and an NB-IoT user device or between the IAB donor node and the NB-IoT user device via a second NB-IoT carrier.
BACKLOG MECHANISM FOR SUBSCRIBER PROFILES ON EUICCS
Methods and devices are arranged for managing reset and re-downloaded profiles Over-the-Air on an eUICC. An operator system imports a profiles list from a server, each entry in the list comprising a flag indicating whether the corresponding profile has been downloaded onto the eUICC. Upon receiving, from a mobile network operator, MNO, a request to update a profile on the eUICC, the request comprising a profile identifier and an OTA campaign, the operator system performs a backlog of the OTA campaign for the profile indicated by the profile identifier under consideration of the flag in the corresponding profile entry.
Controlling connectivity of an electronic device to a mobile network
An approach for preventing electronic devices from repeatedly attempting to register or connect to a mobile network when they are not permitted to communicate using the mobile network. Embodiments determine whether the electronic device and/or associated SIM is permitted to communicate using the mobile network. In response to determining that the electronic device and/or SIM is not permitted to communicate using the mobile network, the contents of the SIM are modified to prevent the SIM from providing, to other components of the electronic device, communication data used to make a connection or authentication request to the mobile network.
Flexible electronic subscriber identity module deployment
Techniques for flexible electronic subscriber identity module (eSIM) deployment to a wireless device by a network server, including generation of multiple eSIMs using an identical eSIM identifier value, such as an identical integrated circuit card identifier (ICCID) value, and subsequent selection of an eSIM based on capabilities of the wireless device. Multiple eSIMs that correspond to different sets of wireless device capabilities are generated without knowledge of the wireless communication standards that a wireless device supports. The multiple eSIMs include a first eSIM that includes fifth generation (5G) wireless communication protocol information and a second eSIM that excludes 5G wireless communication protocol information. The network server selects an eSIM from the multiple eSIMs based on whether the wireless device is 5G capable. After selection and binding of a profile package that includes the eSIM, the remaining eSIMs that use the identical ICCID value are deleted, for security enforcement against cloning.
INFORMATION SENDING METHOD, BASE STATION SWITCHING METHOD, INFORMATION RECEPTION METHOD AND APPARATUS
The present disclosure provides an information sending method, including in response to determining that a second SIM card in a connected state satisfies a handover condition for handing over the second SIM card from a first base station to a second base station, sending context information of a first SIM card to the first base station through the second SIM card, wherein the first SIM card is in an inactive state. According to the technical solutions of the present disclosure, the first SIM card does not need to send the context information to the second base station separately, nor temporarily adjust its state, thus the times of communication between the terminal and the base station are reduced, the communication progress is simplified and the communication resources are saved.
