Method and system for controlling UICC and EUICC

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a UICC in which a first profile is installed, an eUICC, and a processor electrically connected with the UICC and the eUICC. The processor requests a second profile to be installed in the eUICC from a first server based on the first profile, receives the second profile from a second server associated with the first server, and installs the received second profile in the eUICC. The second profile and the first profile include the same subscriber identification information.

Remote SIM Provisioning

Various aspects include methods for supporting remote Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) profile provisioning that may be performed by a Lightweight Machine-to-Machine (LwM2M) server and LwM2M client computing devices, such as Internet of Things (IoT) devices. A LwM2M server may generate a remote SIM provisioning object for the LwM2M client computing device indicating that the SIM profile update for the LwM2M client computing device is available, and send the remote SIM provisioning object to the LwM2M client computing device. A LwM2M client computing device may receive a remote Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) provisioning object from a LwM2M server indicating that a SIM profile update for the LwM2M client computing device is available, and download the SIM profile update in response to receiving the remote SIM provisioning object.

Method and apparatus for supporting network connection of terminal in next generation mobile communication system

A communication scheme and a system thereof for converging an internet of things (IoT) technology and a fifth generation (5G) communication system for supporting a high data transmission rate beyond that of a fourth generation (4G) system are provided. The disclosure may be applied to a smart service (e.g., a smart home, a smart building, a smart city, a smart car or connected car, healthcare, digital education, retail business, a security and security related service, or the like) based on a 5G communication technology and an IoT related technology. The disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for supporting a terminal to set up connection to a network in a next generation mobile communication system.

Method and apparatus for installing and managing profile using message service

The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5.sup.th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The disclosure discloses a terminal including a transmission and reception unit and at least one processor. The at least one processor controls the transmission and reception unit so that the transmission and reception unit receives a message such as an SMS, an MMS, or an OTT including event download information from a communication operator server, searches for event download information from the received message such as the SMS, the MMS, or the OTT, transmits the event download information to another terminal if necessary, and receives an event from a profile server with reference to the event download information.

MAINTAINING CONCURRENT SERVICES IN A DUAL ACTIVE MODE

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may establish, using a first subscription of the UE, a first communication connection associated with a first service. The UE may establish, using a second subscription of the UE, a second communication connection associated with a second service. The UE may operate in a dual subscriber identity module (SIM) dual active (DSDA) mode based at least in part on establishing the first communication connection and establishing the second communication connection. The UE may perform an action to maintain concurrent services, including the first service and the second service, while operating in the DSDA mode. Numerous other aspects are described.

DISCONTINUOUS RECEPTION INTERVAL ADJUSTMENT
20230011614 · 2023-01-12 ·

The described technology is generally directed towards discontinuous reception interval adjustment. User equipment that is designated to employ an adjusted discontinuous reception interval, which is different from an interval used for other user equipment, can be provisioned to employ higher and lower energy states according to the adjusted discontinuous reception interval. The user equipment can be furthermore provisioned to use a designated quality of service class identifier (QCI) in connection with radio access network (RAN) communications. The designated QCI notifies the RAN to adopt the adjusted discontinuous reception interval in connection with user equipment communications, so the RAN can synchronize inbound communications for the user equipment to occur within the user equipment's higher energy states.

Method for Authenticating and Updating eUICC Firmware Version and Related Apparatus
20230214476 · 2023-07-06 ·

A method for authenticating and updating an eUICC firmware version includes: receiving first information from a terminal device, where the first information includes a target identifier; searching a currently stored event record for a target event record, where a group event identifier in the target event record matches the target identifier in the first information; sending the target event record to the terminal device, where the target event record is used to enable the terminal device to download an eUICC firmware version update package; and updating a firmware version of an eUICC of the terminal device based on the eUICC firmware version update package.

RESPONSE INDICATION METHOD, AND RESPONSE DETERMINATION METHOD AND DEVICE
20230217242 · 2023-07-06 ·

A response indication method, performed by a terminal which is at least provided with a first Subscriber Identity Module card, includes: receiving a paging message through the first SIM card; and sending indication information to a base station that sends the paging message; in which the first SIM card does not respond to the paging message, the indication information indicates to the base station that the first SIM card is not to respond to the paging message. Other reasons for sending the indication information are also discussed.

Access Method for Network Service and Related Mobile Terminal Apparatus
20230217249 · 2023-07-06 · ·

A network service accessing method for a mobile terminal apparatus includes adding an access profile column of an application protocol data unit (APDU) of an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) of the mobile terminal apparatus; enabling a first profile and a second profile of the eUICC of the mobile terminal apparatus; sending a command of accessing a first issuer security domain profile (ISD-P) of the first profile or a command of accessing a second ISD-P of the second profile; and accessing data of the first ISD-P of the first profile or data of the second ISD-P of the second profile.

Method and system for providing communication services using a plurality of remote subscriber identity modules

A method and a wireless communication device for providing communication service to devices connected to the wireless communication device. By establishing a starter wireless carrier connection using a starter SIM from a plurality of local SIMs, the wireless communication device establishes one or more logical data connections with one or more SIM banks. Remote-SIMs are selected from the one or more SIM banks and used to establish further wireless carrier connections to allow communication service to be provided to the devices over wireless carrier connections.
